This is a great vest. I have the previous model also that is Cotton/Ventile and while has served me well, it can be very hot in summer.I just bought this new model for a vacation in Panama, Central America where it is always hot and humid. It was a welcome update over my old vest.Additionally, the pockets are HUGE - you can put a tripod or large zoom in them (EF 70-200IS L) and filters, batteries, binoculars - even extra bodies. The epaulets are functional and extremely handy - the vest is so well designed and thought out. Sure it is expensive, but nothing else I have seen comes close. And it makes an excellent travel vest as well.I'd say it fits true to size regardless of the odd note about sizes - a medium was fine for me and that's my normal size. That allowed me to stuff the pockets plenty with no problem [...].I still love the old ventile model - it has taken on a really cool look with age - I suspect that rugged cotton ventile will last forever, but in the summer, this new version is the way to go.
