Bose Soundbar 500, Black - With Bose Bass Module 500

The sound bar was purchased to replace the smaller 300 model. It was well worth the money, however, the sub woofer has been back ordered so that we cannot fully appreciate the sound yet. Based on the sound of the 500, we think maybe the 700 would have eliminated the need for the sub woofer. Otherwise we are very happy with it.

I bought my soundbar two months ago and I've never been happier. The sound is crystal clear and makes my music and movies watching experience so much better. I never have to turn the volume up or down to accommodate for the background music in shows and movies over dialogue anymore or worry about having the volume up too loud. It's well worth the money and extremely happy I bought it.

I bought the Bose Soundbar 700 three months ago and was so happy with the sound that I went tour and bought the Bose Soundbar 500. I’ve had both for a little bit but they are so awesome. The base off of the 700 is incredible.

I am using this great soundbar in my living room and has been the missing puzzle piece I've been needing for some time. The soundbar is great for movies and general tv. My only small-complain is when using it for music I feel a bit of bass is lacking. I do plan on getting the bass modular for this reason.

Bought this in August and it worked perfectly for a month and a half. Now almost every day there is either a high pitching sound out of nowhere when watching TV or listening to music. Or the sound disappears and we can’t figure out the cause. It’s frustrating.

I brought this product because of the Bluetooth feature as I’m hard of hearing I can now use my headphones while my wife can have TV at her level The only thing bad with it is the and why I’ve not given it 5 stars as of all the other Bose products I have brought is it has the worse Remote I’ve ever seen cannot find or see buttons in the dark or even in the light sometimes

Sadly, the remote with the system is a total dampener. Got a replacement in 3 months but the 2nd one too came out worst within 2 weeks!! Feel sad when I see that remote- for the high value I paid for such a product company which isn’t able to manage the ‘remote‘ technology at all!! Am sad!

Had purchased soundbar 500 with Bass mod 500 after 3 months of use - Without the bass mod, the low Freq sound is highly unimpressive, unless you crank up the Bass all the way to 70/100 in the Bose music app. But with the bass cranked up that high, the Output gets compressed at high volumes and it sounds almost fake and like it can't handle it anymore. So you gotta turn the sound down the Soundstage is Average at best and the Stereo separation isnt very evident since the bar isn't as wide as say the soundbar 700. With the Bass Module 500, the setup shines bright..but that is an extra 30k in India. Do test the song 'Contact' by Daft Punk , that should give you an idea..The system does really well with higher freqs, and not so great with mids, and the less said about lows the better. Go for it only if you are interested in shelling extra for the Bass module 500.. With the bass module 500, this thing is a giant beast! What is also impressive is the system being compatible with Bluetooth as well as Apple airplay... If your TV supports ARC, its a great experience... I was able to connect my LED with the soundbar via ARC and can start the TV using Alexa that is inbuilt. however, the Alexa response time needs to be improved as it feels lethargic at times.

Bought it a month ago...For the sound yes it did not disappoint great sounding speaker if used with the bass module..superb movie watching experience...The cons though are quite a few... 1.) Sub optimal remote, Small and very limited functionality you end up carrying three remotes with you all the time each for TV, Set Top box and the speakers. 2.) Because of the remote you always have to got to the app to switch off the Bass module while watching regular TV channels 3.) Here's the worst part the connectivity, 90% of the time you open the app and its not connected to the Soundbar and it prompts you to restart the router. Though the product is great in its basic purpose of delivering sound these cons are really nagging. When you are purchasing a product at this price you expect it to be nothing less than perfect in every aspect both the hardware and software performance. Hope these things are resolved soon over an update if that's a possibility.

Installation was a painful process. Getting it to work properly was hard. Even after all the time spent on getting it to work I've had to power cycle it several times to make it work. Alexa commands work badly or it doesn't work at all. Sounds okay.

I bought 500 bar, bass and rear speakers around 20days ago. The combination is for those who prefer loud music, at 75 percet of volume you can feel the effect and that is to loud, at 60 volume its a normal flat speaker. The worst cheap practice of bose is the installation and after sales service.... These people are pathetic... If yiu value your time and money never buy any bose.. Here is the proff....

I got the Soundbar 500 along with the Bass module. Having used the SloundLink 3, Companion 2 and SoundDock 2, the expectation I had from this was a lot. Frankly speaking, my first impression I had from this right after installation wasn't very good. The soundbar on its own had a very balanced sound but adding the Bass module, it seemed to lose some mid frequency details. The bass module was however tight and punchy. I had to run the Adaptiq a couple of times to get everyting right. Now they sound amazing together just as I had expected. Thank you Bose. I hope to buy the surround speakers soon. One tip is to make sure the room is absolutely quiet when you run the adaptiq.

I bought this a month ago, it's not Relevant model for future, it has lots of Failure things Its not Easy Connect With Alexa , Arc , Bluetooth or WiFi, Remote is not Easy to Handle. Also After Sales Service is Pathetic in North East India. Very Disappointed After Sales Service. Only Sound is Good.
