Bought it 6 months ago and so far my experience is ok but the 3 star rating is because I was expecting good Bass sound from th Acoustimass. It would be nice to add or pair other Acoustimass to double the bass.

One thing you need to remember when buying any Bose product... You are paying for SOUND. Bose allocates resources for the best sound quality, but at the cost of aesthetics and functionality. This system sounds incredible for its class of home entertainment, but expect the mediocre Bose operations. For example.... "Apps" or "Presets" aren't viewable on your TV monitor while in Bluetooth mode.... You need to have your smart phone handy to control Pandora, etc. My Sony Blu-ray player fortunately has the interactive capabilities, so I prefer to use it. Universal Remote not so universal and/or programmable... expect to push a lot of buttons to power on/off devices. Always verify everything has powered off before leaving the room!!! Cannot multitask.... i.e. cannot scan through your TV guide while listening to music... But... It sounds awesome!!! Small price to pay for the sound quality....

I love the sound but switching between TV, PlayStation and Apple TV is a nightmare. It's daily ritual of switching everything on and off 3-4 times. Often the video works but not sound. I can't believe I paid $1400 for this and it can't do what a basic input switching box can do for $10. Now warranty is out I might as well chuck in the bin.

I've had this system up and running for several months now, and I am very happy with almost everything about it. The sound is clear and adaptable to different media genres so everything sounds great. It can handle gentle dialogue just as well as pounding action scenes. Especially impressive for the size. It's just a sleek unit. My only major complaint is that it doesn't *quite* fit into my SoundTouch lineup. I have a SoundTouch speaker in nearly every room in my house and I use them everyday. But, since the SoundTouch app doesn't have access to my Apple Music subscription, I very often connect to them directly from iTunes on my laptop using their AirPlay connectivity. The desktop version of iTunes allows me to connect to multiple AirPlay devices at once, so I can play my music straight from iTunes throughout my whole house - EXCEPT the main room, where I have this SoundTouch 120 Home Theater System. This system can only be connected by BlueTooth or by wired connection. This is a HUGE oversight in full-function usability and, had I known that this (much more expensive) SoundTouch unit would lack the primary feature I use in my whole-home system, I would have more seriously reviewed the competition. Adding this feature would absolutely make this a 5-star product. (Bonus points if it can be added via system update!)

I bought this system a couple days ago and love it. I can barely screw a light bulb in correctly and I wired this system in fifteen minutes including the speaker coordination. I like the way the voice prompts you to move to five different locations in the room to fine tune the system. The sound of this system is excellent. I still have an old Bose wave radio that I bought 30 years ago and it still is in as new condition even though I use it as an alarm clock every day. This system is great and I can't wait to buy a garage speaker for it.

I bought this a week ago as I enjoy the "Bose sound" (2 x ST10, 2 x ST20, 1 x ST Portable, 1 x ST 30). Nothing complex, cable box plugged into the console HDMI-in and TV into the console via HDMI-ARC. However the lag between the sound and picture is abysmal - the sound from the Bose is noticeably behing that coming form the TV so the adjustment that the console offers is the wrong way around and is no help whatever. Unusable. I've relegated it to "dumb amp" status using an optical cable with my devices all now plugged into the TV but I'm thinking of dumping it back to the shop.

I checked this system out at a local Bose store. I replaced my 5 speaker system surround sound system and don't miss it at all. No more wires and big receiver. My living room now looks neat and clean and the sound is great. The bass speaker really kicks in when needed. I play all my music files from my computer using the Wi-Fi feature. I now have one remote that controls the TV, Cable, DVD player and music!

I do not have an ideal room layout for a full 5.1 surround sound system. I was therefore in the market for a sound bar producing sound as close to a 5.1 surround sound system as possible. There are lots of sound bars out there today, many of which get good ratings, so the choice was difficult. But I could not be happier after going with the Bose Soundtouch 120. This system produces incredible, room filling sound, and does a very nice job simulating a true 5.1 surround sound system. With my new Sony 65 inch 4K TV, my living room now feels like a movie theater. I highly recommend this system.

Hi, I have an addiction with BOSE products. It is the only brand that I have in my house. When I got this system last year (January 2015) I was very happy especially with the wireless Subwoofer (less cable). But just few days after installing it, I found out that the Subwoofer was losing the sound (kind of cut out) constantly. I called the Technical Support Service and the nice guy on the phone told me that it is because the Subwoofer was to close of my wireless Internet Modem causing a king of interference. So I move the Subwoofer and place it behind the sofa. The issue disappeared for few months and came back. At the time it was still OK for me: just few cuts out time to time. But now it is very frequent and I am just frustrated and disappointed. Also I am not quite having the great sound quality (or same sound quality) as when I tested the same system in the store. I even try the same DVD as in the store but there is a difference in the sound quality. Probably a setting's issue I don't know. I do know that my warranty is over, but I do need that issue to be fixed. I am still a BOSE fan. Thank You.

After doing my homework on sound bars I decided to buy the Bose 120. For apartment living this a great system to buy. Sounds great and I love the app. Things I don't like- sub or accustic mass will always cut out and will drive u crazy. Be sure to order the hard wire for it the day of your purchase. 2nd the Bluetooth cuts out if I'm playing music from iTunes or iPhone. Saying that. Not sure if it's an IOS thing but will hopefully sort that soon. 3rd I think the wireless soundtouch should be built in the receiver instead of having a separate piece. But that's me being critical. Either way. Good value for what u pay. Sounds great in my apartment.

I bought the Soundtouch 120 to replace my much loved original Bose 321 system. Not in anyway disappointed. The soundbar gives a truly surround feel and music is much enhanced with the Acoustimass bass module. Wifi and Bluetooth connection take this system to a different level. I will no doubt be adding additional speakers to enhance the system round by home. Very clever iPhone app controls everything. Go on spoil yourself it's very good value at the price.

It is the best system Bose invented after some time. The audio is so clear and fill the room with rich music. The one thing I wanted to know if I can connect REAR speakers to the system. I have AM5 cube speakers and wanted to understand if it is possible to connect.

We love this system, we actually bought one for our bedroom and one for our living room. BUT, we are unable to connect our phones to the soundtouch wireless to play our music. We were not told it only excepted IPhones. We were actually about to buy a speaker for out by the pool and also another system for our movie theater upstairs until we found this out. If there is another way to connect our phones wirelessly to these systems, we would love to know.

With only 17 inch in length it produces sound that defies its size. The sound will slowly grow on you and you will get addicted. I compare this system with Samsung Curved 8.1 sound bar and find Bose better. This sounds amazing be it news, sports, movies or music at any volume level. If you looking for sound bar with wireless sub woofer which also suits room interior this ones for you.

I've bough this product our of my good experience with most Bose Products, and specially because i also have a Cinemate 1SR which has been so far the best sound system I've purchased from Bose the reason is because of it simplicity. I have more than 6 different products from this brand and I'm happy with most of them (some more than others). But this product has many things that make me hate and regret my decision of buying it. For starters the Console compatibility with other brands is not what I've expected: - First with an Apple tv 4 Gen. If i want to run this device with it's highest resolution, I cannot connect it to the Console, or else the image does not appear or becomes intermittent, solution is either to plug it to the TV or run it at 720 pix. - Control does not allow to switch seamlessly between devices. With the old cinemate the control had a section to switch between devices, which this one also seem to have, but this one automatically switch between inputs. As a result, i can't use the timer of my TV without switching to the TV input. - My cable company uses a Cisco decoder, which does not respond to the code as given by the manufacturer code list. - Bass quality, while with the Cinemate there was an analog potentiality to adjust the Bass level which responded very nicely this one is managed through the console. This is not a bad thing, except that no matter how much bass i want to add, I don;t seem to feel the difference. As I've stated before, all other products from Bose so far i like an love. I consider that when it comes to sound quality this brand is making a very good job, but

Just picked up my 120 today after much research for my lounge room size (very small room) the sound touch 120 fits like a glove & AWSOME sound for a compact unit.PLEASE NOTE: the 120 will sit nicely in front of your T.V. BUT if you are looking at the 130 sound touch BEWARE it is best used with a wall mounted T.V. as the 130 soundbar is 2 inches taller than the 120 & can cut out the bottom of the T.V. screen. It maybe great for large rooms But not viewing a t.v. with the 130 staring at your viewing.something to keep in mind when buying this great product. BOSE has won me over.

I bought this and so far I love sound quality but there are some weird audio processing issues. for example there is a weird delay where it cuts off the beginning of a videos audio. In other words, it often missies the first beat and then fades up. Its super annoying because I am a filmmaker and I like my work to sound as I intended. If it weren't for this issue I'd probably give it 5 stars. Is there something that can be down about this?

Lots of pros with one con. Phenomenal and rich room filling sound that is crisp and clear. My only complaint is the wireless acustimass speaker annoyingly drops out. You pay a premium for a wireless subwoofer that has interference issues. I was mailed a small 13 ft wire which solved the sound dropout that I was experiencing. I have yet to be able to figure out what was the dropout, but I now have an expensive wired subwoofer that works and sounds great.

We bought this system for our bedroom primarily because of its small form factor. And, we have not been disappointed. It is hard to notice. Aside from its stealthiness, we really appreciate the sound this little thing is able to produce! We have a large room with 15 foot ceilings and the 120 nicely fills the room with sound. And, to top it off, it has room correction software and a mic included. The process was easy to run. This is not a cheap system, but all in all, we are very happy.

I bought this system to replace my 5 speaker system, because I got tired of all the wires, and the subwoofer took up too much space. I liked this system because it has one speaker, less wires, and a smaller subwoofer. The sound is great. The hookup was easy. My only complaints are the universal remote which gets confusing. I use my DirecTV remote. It is much easier. I just use the Bose remote to switch between devices. Also, I wish that the console had a power button and an input button.

I bought this system and hate it. I always have issues with no picture, or no sound, or volume not working on remote and I'm using a 4k samsung tv. I hate this product, regret buying it, wish I purchased sonos, besides, you can add more than 1 speaker and 1 sub unlike this pile of coal.

bought this a month ago and it started off sounding great. but now it sounds like its blown out which is weird because the bass sounds great but its the high end that sounds distorted and its not like ive blasted it or anything. I even checked to make sure none of the wires were loose but so far thats not it. I mean for the price range I was not expecting this outcome, its not like I have it full blast. if anyone is having this issue any advice is appreciated

We purchased a SoundTouch 120 about 2 weeks ago. I think the sound is awesome. But, controlling it is frustrating. At the same time that we bought the Bose, we also bought a new Sony Bravia 55 inch TV. With both our old tv and the new Sony, I use the our Tivo remote for everything, except perhaps some occasional deep surgery on some unique settings. However, when I plugged in the HDMI cable between the tv and Bose, the Bose changed my audio settings. So, I pecked through and straightened that out. The Bose wants you to use it as your sole remote for all things HDMI that have a sound component. Bose wants you to control your tv through their remote. So, I learned not to use an HDMI cable. Next, I connected an analog headphones to RCA cable between the tv and the Bose. This connection worked exactly as I wanted it to. I was able to balance the tv's speakers with the Bose system and the Tivo remote controlled both mute and volume changes for both the tv and the Bose system. However, I lost some sound quality with the RCA cable. Next, I ordered an optical cable to run from the back of the tv to the Bose. Once that arrived and I got it connected, the sound was worlds clearer and crisper than it had been with the RCA cable. Wow, I thought that I had solved all our problems, but not so fast. With the optical cable, the Tivo remote does in fact mute all sound. But, the Tivo remote does not change the volume of the output coming from the Bose. It seems that Bose wants total control and a Tivo remote has features that can only work with a Tivo remote. I do not want to juggle two remotes to perform single functions. It just seems that all the smart wars are working against us. We are planning to return the SoundTouch 120 in a few days.

I debated a long time between the Sonos and Bose sound bar systems for a room of about 15 ft x 18 ft. I finally decided on the Soundtouch 120 based on greater flexibility in source inputs and slightly lower cost. I am very happy with the sound bar and sub in this room. A couple weeks later I added a wireless SA5 amp to drive existing wired speakers and plan additional Bose wireless speakers and possibly SA5 additions throughout the house. The 120 and SA5 pair well when streaming from Pandora, Spotify, my music library, etc. At a slightly lower price I would probably rate 5 stars; however, additional software development is also needed so that HDMI and optical inputs to the 120 and Aux inputs to the SA5 can also be paired within a Soundtouch group and played everywhere or within defined zones throughout the house. For example, it would be nice to add a SA5 to the 120 to have rear surround sound thru existing wired speakers. I did understand this limitation at time of purchase. I'd rate installation, WiFi connection to Soundtouch app, etc. as not really easy and moderately time consuming (30-60 min). I work in technology.
