This printer had big problems. It worked fine at first, but then would constantly go to sleep and wouldn't print over Wi-Fi. I tried all the fixes left by other users that had the same problem and the fixes recommended by Brother. Nothing worked. I tried to return it to Office Depot but I was past the 15-day return window. I bought a similar HP instead and it works great.

I trued other printers that cost less, but this one so outweighed other printers anywhere near it current price. It is fast, for printing and scanning, prints beautiful text and has an easy to set up scanner. It automatically configured itself for my network. Really neat. My previous Brother lasted over 10 years.

It works well. I am able to print from my laptop or my phone. My only issue is there isnt a drive to download for this model.

I generally like the Brother DCP2640DW laser printer. My complaint is frequent paper jams. The printer is for personal use, thus is not printing a lot. However, I have experienced three paper jams in four weeks. There are days the printer is not used, so I view these paper jams too frequent. I had an older Brother laser printer that printed for years and rarely a jam. I did not want to buy any more toner and another new drum for it because of its age. So, I purchased this DCP2640DW. Hope I didn't make a mistake.

This replaced a Brother scanner, copier and printer I had had for 16 years which was a wonderful machine. This does more and slightly faster. I love it. Thank you Brother

The only thing that is annoying at the least is the noise it produces when idle. After printing it continues to run loudly. Either than that it does awesome on printing and performance

Its been a decent copier. However we have a bug issue with this printer regarding that it will tell you that you are out of paper and there is plenty of paper in the tray. And also a connection issue.

So far, I am very happy with this printer, and I have bought ALOT of printers over the past twenty + years! My tech told me to go Brother and that sounded so generic to me, I went with what my other colleagues were using only to be disappointed and want to toss them out the window in three months with jams, constant ink refills, weekly updates, and nightmares! I just need to print and scan! So, hoping this review does not jinx me:)

I bought the printer to use at home. When I first got it, it started tripping the breaker EVERY TIME. I called Brother for support and they told me I would need to call an electrician that something was wrong with the wiring in my home. I called my son-in-law (NOT an electrician, but tech savvy) and after about 5 minutes of research, he told me what the problem was and how to fix it. He also said that reviews showed my particular problem to be a common occurrence with my model. Next, the standard paper tray won't pick up a label sheet that some of the labels have already been used off of. It jams every time. Called customer support. No help. Still jams. Lastly, it appears the manual feed isn't working correctly - or I don't know how to use it. It WILL NOT print from the manual feed AT ALL. I've tried everything I know. Called customer support. No help. "We need to escalate the ticket. Someone will call you back within two hours." It's a week later and I'm still waiting for that call.

This brother machine replaces my nearly 10 year old brother machine. It performs very well with one star removed because of recurrent difficulties in Wi-Fi connectivity. It is sporadic and I have done everything recommended to avoid or resolve problems including All updates. Additionally it is Never found by its IP number.

This printer/scanner was harder to set up than I expected (particularly updating all the various software and connecting to my wifi), and the quality of the scans is surprisingly low. I have an ancient stand-alone Fujitsu scanner that works effortlessly and creates perfect images, including automatically scanning both sides of 2-sided documents. But it has to be manually connected to my laptop, so I thought this would be an improvement. Nope. The scans are much lower quality, and scanning 2-sided documents requires physically turning the pages over on the platen or re-feeding through the Automatic Document Feeder. When scanning a two-sided document, you also have to rearrange the pages in the resulting multi-page document -- something Brother's software doesn't offer. The printing function is OK but also doesn't copy 2-sided documents using the ADF.

This printer stopped working after a couple of weeks of use. Spent countless hours troubleshooting and on the phone with costumer service. They finally told me they didn't know what the issue was and couldn't help me. Had to buy another printer. The Brother printer just sits on the desk collecting dust.

I'm having a hard time using the scanner - to scan to my PC. It doesn't recognize the computer. Therefore, I have to manual scan using the software.
