I really like this printer. I bought it to print wirelessly from a new iPad that wouldn't work with my wired only inkjet. But I love the wireless feature being able to print from all of my devices. And the laser prints are so much more stable if they get a drop of water on them! Good, crisp prints and easy two sided prints too. So far so good.

This is a great printer. Everything works as expected. However, I would have given a 5 star rating except for two critical issues: 1) When setting the machine up (or if you need to reconnect to wifi) you need a flashlight in order to read the menu screen - oh Brother; and 2) I'm frequently being asked to update the utility software and firmware with no clear indication of whether it was successfully installed or not.

The printer is ok, but the app is horrible! 1) tried to register for extended warranty, uploaded proof of purchase file successfully, then nothing! 2) tried to order toner from the app and filled out all the information, except when it came to credit card info it asked for name on the card - and that's all. So could not place an order from the app.

This is an unreliable printer. The drum failed after a year. The drum warranty is only 90 days, and a replacement drum costs $160. You have to use Brother-branded cartridges or it won't work. I got a toner error, so I bought a new cartridge. Then I immediately got the drum error, so the cartridge and the printer are a complete loss. In terms of usability, the initial setup is awful. You have to enter your passcode using a single button to cycle through the entire alphabet and numbers multiple times. No keyboard. Ridiculous. Also, the glass screen cracked. Not even sure how that happened.

Not recommended, could only get the Wifi to work once. Terrible user interface. Directed you to a complex and useless phone app. Wanted a simple printer, not simple. What ever happened to plugging it in via USB to print something. That would have been nice. Printer gone in trash.

Toner doesn't last long. I had an older brother laser printer that I could shake the toner and continue to reuse without replacing immediately. This one doesn't do that. It just ceases to work until I replace it.

Print quality is great! Set up, not so great. Wireless set up didn't work. Had to buy a connector to make it work! Screen size is about 1/2 inch by two inches--not easy to read, Luckily, my print needs are basic.

reasonable cost, easy for me to set up (and I'm a 79-year-old lady), works like a dream with my iPhone and my iPad. I've printed one sheet and I've printed 17 double sided sheets. It works,no color but I don't need it. It's at my second house a it may not be used for a couple of weeks at a time, but it starts off immediately.

Good b&w printer for home office use. High quality printouts, holds large amount of paper, prints 2 sided. Only complaint is that it's noisy.

The most horrible device I have ever purchased. After weeks of frustration of wrestling the tiny, on-board screen and nebulous directions, I had the great pleasure of tossing it into black hole in my garage. The comparable (and almost identical), Brother monochrome that I had before this, was a pleasure to do business with.

My printer stopped working about two months after I got it. According to the app, I have a paper jam. I do not. I took apart everything, and I am still not able to clear the message, so the printer will not print.

Was going to go with a cartridge based printer from another manufacturer like the one I had before, but I had always heard of the quality of Brother and went with a drum set up as I don't print that much color anyways, and could not believe the speed and quality of the print, the sharpness of the black ink and the ease to set it up with Wi-Fi and my Mac computer. I highly recommend to anyone who has a home office or school work. It actually makes me excited to print.

This is a great little printer that had easy installation, is very quiet, fast, and has excellent print quality. The duplexing capability is excellent, also. I needed it to be small in order to fit in the space I had allotted for it.

Love, love this printer. Reasonably priced, easy to set up and ready to print when we need it. We don't use our printer very often, so our previous ink jet printer was always dry when we needed it. A toner printer is definitely the way to go. Highly recommend this printer for our in-home occasional use.

Printer worked well for about a month, then gradually became slower. Now it is not printing at all, and is not apparent to my wifi router. The router works fine with all the other devices accessing it.
