I purchased a Brother HLL2465DW on 27 December 2025 from Staples. I had previously owned a different Brother laser printer and had always been impressed by the length of use from the toner cartridges after years of faithful printing. I had expected the same quality and length of service for my new machine, given the marketing which shows the toner cartridges will provide up to 1,200 pages in the regular TN380 cartridge, and up to 3,000 pages in the TN380XL edition. Imagine my personal surprise that the provided cartridge only lasted 448 pages before giving a low toner error and requiring a replacement. Your advertising states it will print up to 1,200 pages. I achieved closer to 35% of what was advertised. this is blatant false advertising. The usual response posted in reviews of "Page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on ISO testing standards. Actual yield may vary depending on factors such as paper size, number of pages per job, print coverage, font size, and content (e.g., graphics or charts). Jobs with heavy coverage or large fonts will use more toner and may reduce cartridge life." is a cop out. This misleading advertising is unacceptable. Do Better.

Just bought the HL-L2460DW printer to replace my 20 yr old HL-1440 printer (which was very reliable and needed only 2 repairs during its life - it is actually ok but recently began misfeeding every 2 or 3 pages). The new printer is ok except for its limited toner longevity. After only 394 pages the report said toner was "low" and after only 465 pages it showed a "Replace Toner" message. This is a far cry from the advertised capacity of 1200 pages. It is also a far cry from the toner longevity in my old HL-1440 printer, which was actually several reams. The report says "Total Pages Printed," 455. Very disappointing. Is the printer defective?

Good Toner. Do not Buy this from Brother. They charged me for the toner then cancelled the order because they could not verify me? They had no problem taking the money and I had to spend 20 minutes calling them to find out what happened. Meanwhile they charged my credit card $65 and cancelled the order?

So very disappointed in Brother! We've always purchased HP printers and because we're retired we thought we'd try Brother. What a huge mistake! Our yield on our first toner cartridge was a whopping 550 instead of the promised 1200 that was quoted. That is why we purchased this printer. We were MISLED! i guess I might as well try a "compatible brand" that won't cost as much.

This printer prints well, HOWEVER...my "1200 page" genuine Brother toner cartridge only printed 452 single-sided pages (per the report from the printer itself). I understand that there will be some variance in number of pages promised based on density text/image printed, but that's almost 1/3 of what was advertised, and I'm not printing images. My other gripe is that no matter the number of tutorials I watch or settings I fiddle with, it WILL NOT print duplex. I mostly bought it because I needed a duplex printer. Two stars for the fact that when it works it is convenient.

Worst support ever. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If you do, and you try to get any support -- find a manual, anything you will be told that NO SUCH MODEL EXISTS. I'M READING THE MODEL NUMBER RIGHT OFF THE MACHINE. ALL I WANT TO DO IS FIX A PAPER JAM. I will NEVER buy another Brother product, so help me GOD!

Bought my first TN830 as it states 1200 pages and printed 750 pages! What a joke for that price. The XL and regular toner size that came with the printer didn't even last 2400 pages for both of them. Will look for the after market because I print too many pages during tax season and can't replace my toner after only 3 days of printing. Very disappointed in this

I purchased the Brother HL-L2400D for printing a long document series. The printer came with the TN830 XL toner cartridge, which says "up to 3,000 pages." This was one of the main reasons I purchased this printer! I may have printed 700 pages so far, and the toner replacement light is on--stopped printing. OEM replacement is currently $58 for the STANDARD cartridge, XL is much higher! I tried the fixes for resetting the toner counter available online. I did not find this when searching the product manual, which is curious! Shame! Anyway, that fix didn't work for me and I'm out 2/3 the advertised capacity!! Not happy.

Purchase a Brother DCP-L2640DW. Came with the TN830 toner. Printed 756 pages then it said replace the toner cartridge. Not even close to the 1,200 pages it was supposed to give.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the fact that you CANNOT collate on this cheap printer! When you make 20 copies of a 3 page document and you have to manually collate, it is not enjoyable and complete waste of my time. And it only prints 1200 pages per cartridge, we need a cartridge every 2 weeks. In 2 months, we could have bought a good printer. If it weren't for our corporate people buying this printer, I would never have chosen it! We have several and we purchase 10 cartridges each month.

I got my printer and it came with toner but I think it is a sample because it did not last as long as this one is. This one has been printing well, good quality. The toner came with instructions but it is very easy to replace anyway. The TN830 XL has a higher yield but for now I think the TN830 works great for us. I really like how clear the prints are, even the two sided prints look great.

this toner came with my new HL-L2465DW, and had to be replaced after only 193 pages. I was sure that it was printer error, but after printing a few small documents, the print started to fade, indicating the toner actually was starting to run out. This was shocking to me as a long time Brother user - im used to toners lasting a year, not less than a week.

Brother toner products are a bunch of garbage my toner cartridge began low toner alert at 300 pages and the initial cartridge n the printer did less than 100 pages before low toner warning came on I would highly recommend buying any other printer for simple printing
