The X4 ND filter is crafted using SCHOTT Superwhite B270 optical glass, an ultra-clear crown glass produced by melting high-purity raw materials. This continuous draw process results in superior transmission across the ultraviolet, visible, and infrared spectrums. The high surface quality of this glass is perfectly suited for our advanced MRC and nanotec coatings.
Our proprietary MRC16 is a state-of-the-art multi-resistant coating applied to both surfaces of the glass disk. This coating not only reduces reflection but also increases surface durability. The MRC coating is structurally harder than the glass itself, and the reduced reflections enhance efficiency by minimizing light loss. This reduction in reflections also improves image contrast by eliminating stray light, resulting in better contrast and color in your photographs.
