BERNARD C : Is it a thick rim filter? I need a thick rim polarizing filter as my thin rim units fall off easily and lens cap do not stay on the filter securely.ROGER Z : Yes, the rim is thick, and should keep your lens cap in place.Jon W : Not that thick, but I've had no issue with filter or lens cap falling off. Only issue is that polarizing effect falls off drastically on the edges when zoomed wider than 35mm.BARBARA M : It is thin so there’s no vignetting but thick enough that it stays on and holds my lens cap.BILL N : This is thin, but does not fall off, and the lens cap stays on. A filter that is too thick will vignette at wide angles.

And, it fit well and snug, so I didn't have any issues where the slightest bump would knock the cap off. While my experience is with the 16-35 mm lens, I don't now why it wouldn't work just as well for your 24-70mm lens. I was very happy with the performance of the B+W len.Brian M : The canon 24-70 f4 lense is 77mm and the 2.8 lense is 82mm. the lense cap fits on my lense great but it is a f4 24-70 yet I would think it should fit the other canon lense. Great filter from B+W
Fantastic polarizer from B+W. I got great saturated colors, specially from foliage and blue skies. The only issue would be that if sometimes is hard to remove from the lens. I use it with a Fuji 27mm f2.8 lens. I'd totally recommend this filter. Buy directly from Adorama, beware of the fake B+W filters from other sellers

Very High Quality, High Transmission Circular Polarizer
This polarizer was made by Schneider Kreuznach, a very high quality German optics company. This circular polarizer has very high transmission for the selected linear polarization. It is fabricated using brass and subsequently has a very smooth rotary action.. Brass does not gall like aluminum and so is often used in bearings. Finally it has a very good, hard, multicoated antireflection coating. It has been cited in scientific literature as being used in scientific instruments that were measuring the polarization of the sky (use Google Scholar to search scientific papers for Kaesemann polarizer)

Mostly OK.
As promised, the surface is extremely hydrophobic, which makes water go away easily and completely. Likely for the same reason, anything repelling water tends to stick to this surface. The filter comes with some kind of residue on both surfaces that is extremely difficult to remove without "making it physical", wiping it off mechanically with some kind of tissue (I didn't even try, because I am afraid of smearing it around and of micro-scratches). If it wasn't a multi-part polarizer, I'd probably try to wash it off with distilled water, but not this one. The one I received had a spot with no coating: highly reflective, like a piece of debris. If it is replaced with one that have no issues, the rating stays.

Good filter
When it comes to filters, B+W is normally my first choice. Good build and the polarizing filters help evade the nasty reflections. I'd definitely recommend this product

Very happy with the smaller size. I wish they were more resistant to scratches but very happy with them otherwise. It was easy to decide to keep using them with my new lens.

Quit working
Nicely built and causes no distortion, but the ring got very hard to turn, almost to the point of locking up. Sent it back to the company and it came back better, but still too tight. Unacceptable for a product that is this expensive. Ended up with a Breakthrough.

Amateur review
Polarizing effect feels moderate. I'm too inexperienced to know if a stronger effect is possible on other brands. Works well on reducing water glare. I've noticed lesser effects on sky. Low light loss, isn't an issue for me at all with landscapes. Color shift hasn't been an issue either, but everything is brown and grey outside right now! Used with Oly 12-40mm PRO. No problem with vignette at widest, 24mm equivalent. Small, low profile. Feels solid and high quality. Ring turns smooth, slightly stiff but that prevents accidental turning. Both lens hood and cap still work with the polarizer mounted. Overall feels like a high quality piece for a reasonable price.

Great CPL
I purchased this filter about 1.5 years ago. Since I liked it, I bought another one for my other lens so that I do not have to screw and unscrew with only one filter. I am not getting into technical review of the filter. Rather I am posting a sample picture using this filter on my nikor 16-35mm. You will be the judge.

So far, so good.
Does not seem to reduce the amount of light by much, which is great. Have not really got to use it for what I bought it for: shooting migrating salmon. Putting it on a 135mm f2 Zeiss lens, which is extremely sharp (sharpest lens I have ever used) and has a nice color pop. Having Zeiss glass makes you want to get the best glass for your filter.

The best I've found

I test all my lenses using a high resolution test target, and also do direct comparisons with and without filters. Sharpness of images shot with and without this filter are virtually indistinguishable from each other. This is noticeably sharper than the similarly spec'd Gobe 3-peak polarizer. At the 2020 Chicago indoor auto show,i used the B&W circular polarizer filter witch controlled spot lighting reflections off cars and enriched all the auto car colors in tough photo conditions.
• New generation of Kaesemann High Transmission Circular Polarizer with 1 - 1.5 f-stop loss. Before up to a 3 stop loss.
• This filter uses their XS-Pro Digital mount which is especially suited for DSLRs with wide angle and zoom lenses. It has a front thread for additional accessories.
• MRC nano has an improved outer (8th) layer over regular MRC. The nanotechnology based characteristic (lotus effect) produces a better beading effect with water making the cleaning of this filter even simpler and faster than ever before.
