Great step up
I bought this lens used to replace my 10-18mm EF-S lens. Wow what a difference. The 10-18mm was very good but this lens is great. Took it hiking at 7 Tubs near Wilkes-Barre, PA on my R7 and it was easy to carry and a light rain shower was not an issue at all.

Better late than never! I bought this lens from Adorama in 2017 to use with my 6D. I was very happy with it, and now even happier when using it with my R5! It feels like a brand new lens and even sharper! This is the only EF lens and the old EF 50 f1.4 that are left, I have sold all my EF L lenses and slowly building up my RF collection.
This lens rocks with mirrorless, if you own one, keep it!

Favorite lens.
Amateur using EF/EFs mount lenses since the EOS 350D. This is simply the best lens I've ever used. It produces crystal-clear images on ASP-C and full-frame, with the focal length on full-frame opening up a whole new world of possibilities for landscape and travel shots. I've not tried the 2.8, but at this price you could buy a prime lens to go along with it! Its light weight and IS mean you can walk around all day, for your whole trip, without your arms feeling like jelly. It's great for time-lapse. The lens is almost always on my camera when I leave the house. To anyone looking for their first "L-lens," don't look any further -- you'll likely use this 20x more than a 70-200 :)

Almost pefect
Great lens. Only reason i don?t give it 5 stars is the weight and the f4 . Did research and have used these lenses a lot. I like the edges of this lens better than the 2.8 version. I feel this lens is sharper. Also the stabilization is helpful. I do a lot of backtracking with walk and talk scenes. Great lens, just has limited uses with the f4. For outdoor, photography it?s perfect. Might not use on an interview that requires shallow depth of field.

Better than the f2.8 but...most of us need the f2.8
This has been my go to lens for active outdoor work. I love wide angle, so the 16-35mm range is great. The IS is a must for my video work. When I compare the images with the 16-35 f2.8 I think the image quality is better out of this f4. But many times I need the shallow depth of field of the f2.8 so I really go back and forth with both lenses. The f4 is a better lens, but many of us need the f2.8. I think the new RF 16-35 solves these problems. But overall, a fantastic lens.

Great lens!
Bought the lens to increase my focal length capability with my 5D mark IV and I can immediately see the difference in my images! They are crisp and sharp, edge to edge. I am very pleased!

Great lens
Excellent lens. and 4 stops anti shake. was looking at 2.8, but reviews had this lens as sharper. Only issue is P Cokin filters vignette at 15mm, but Cokin has a new DX series out which I'll get for 10X nutural density.

Sharp and fast
Really sharp wide open. Softer toward the edges like you?d expect but not bad unless you?re nitpicking. Great for portraits at 35mm, great for architecture, skateboarding, landscapes, whatever at 16mm. Focuses fast and very accurately. f4 isn?t the fastest out there but for the money it?s definitely worth it.

Must try lens
This is a very nice lens to have on your camera as you are just wondering around. I have found it helpful to have it connected to my tripod as I get better pictures that way.

Lens is great. But came with useless junks
The lens is considered to be one of the best wide-angle lens for Canon EF-mount. I haven't had many chances to exploit the potential of the lens, but I am happy so far.
What I don't understand is the "kit" that they throw in. They are useless. I have much better tripod, and other accessories, so I sold them out. I really wish they lower the price instead of putting a lot of junks with the lens (and cameras).

Superb lens

16-35 is shape
Great lens. Sharper than my 16-35 f2.8 and it has IS. Newer cameras will make up that extra stop with a bump of iso.

Exceptional Lens
If you are looking for a sharp lens for landscape and real estate photography, look no further. This lens is superb; very sharp edge to edge with little distortion. The image stabilization was a huge deal for me when travelling which is the main reason for choosing this one over the f/2.8 version. Overall great lens. Would recommend to anyone.
