It rocks with mirrorless! Don't sell it.
Better late than never! I bought this lens from Adorama in 2017 to use with my 6D. I was very happy with it, and now even happier when using it with my R5! It feels like a brand new lens and even sharper! This is the only EF lens and the old EF 50 f1.4 that are left, I have sold all my EF L lenses and slowly building up my RF collection. This lens rocks with mirrorless, if you own one, keep it!

Favorite lens.
Amateur using EF/EFs mount lenses since the EOS 350D. This is simply the best lens I've ever used. It produces crystal-clear images on ASP-C and full-frame, with the focal length on full-frame opening up a whole new world of possibilities for landscape and travel shots. I've not tried the 2.8, but at this price you could buy a prime lens to go along with it! Its light weight and IS mean you can walk around all day, for your whole trip, without your arms feeling like jelly. It's great for time-lapse. The lens is almost always on my camera when I leave the house. To anyone looking for their first "L-lens," don't look any further -- you'll likely use this 20x more than a 70-200 :)

Almost pefect
Great lens. Only reason i don?t give it 5 stars is the weight and the f4 . Did research and have used these lenses a lot. I like the edges of this lens better than the 2.8 version. I feel this lens is sharper. Also the stabilization is helpful. I do a lot of backtracking with walk and talk scenes. Great lens, just has limited uses with the f4. For outdoor, photography it?s perfect. Might not use on an interview that requires shallow depth of field.

Better than the f2.8 but...most of us need the f2.8
This has been my go to lens for active outdoor work. I love wide angle, so the 16-35mm range is great. The IS is a must for my video work. When I compare the images with the 16-35 f2.8 I think the image quality is better out of this f4. But many times I need the shallow depth of field of the f2.8 so I really go back and forth with both lenses. The f4 is a better lens, but many of us need the f2.8. I think the new RF 16-35 solves these problems. But overall, a fantastic lens.

Great lens!

Excellent lens. and 4 stops anti shake. was looking at 2.8, but reviews had this lens as sharper. Only issue is P Cokin filters vignette at 15mm, but Cokin has a new DX series out which I'll get for 10X nutural density.

Sharp and fast
Really sharp wide open. Softer toward the edges like you?d expect but not bad unless you?re nitpicking. Great for portraits at 35mm, great for architecture, skateboarding, landscapes, whatever at 16mm. Focuses fast and very accurately. f4 isn?t the fastest out there but for the money it?s definitely worth it.

I didn't need this but I wanted it - so I got it!
I have several older Canon lens that are around this focal range but they only make acceptable shots during bright sunny days and usually with a tripod. I read online how to get the best from this lens, then went out daily for about a week and was quickly getting the sharpest shots with the best color I've ever gotten. Day and night, morning, afternoon, and evenings. Rainy days. Handheld too! No complaints here - this lens lives up to the hype.

Lens is great. But came with useless junks
The lens is considered to be one of the best wide-angle lens for Canon EF-mount. I haven't had many chances to exploit the potential of the lens, but I am happy so far. What I don't understand is the "kit" that they throw in. They are useless. I have much better tripod, and other accessories, so I sold them out. I really wish they lower the price instead of putting a lot of junks with the lens (and cameras).

Great lens for real estate and architectural photography
Great lens. I use it every day with a Canon 5DM IV as my main lens for real estate photography. I also have the 17-40 f/4L, but haven't used it since I bought this lens. The results are sharp and clear and I highly recommend it.

Great quality with IS
Bought this lens prior to going to Italy. I found the 16-35 mm range with IS the ideal lens for narrow Italian village streets as well as the many outdoor scenes. I have included a few pictures shot with this lens on a 5DMKIII.

Rented before purchase.
I rented both the 2.8 iii and the 4 of this lens. I really appreciate the IS of the 4, which got me more useable photos than the 2.8. I bought the 4 for its IS and price. I am happy with my purchase because I find myself needing a wide angle more than my telephoto or kit lens. The IS is great for the shots I need indoors in low light and ability to use it longer during dusk and dawn photos outside without a tripod.

OMG! This is a great lense for landscape and city travel! I waited to buy this lense, because it is expensive, and I own the 24-105mm. I thought my 24-105mm lense would be all that I need for my trip to Ireland, but I was wrong. The 16-35mm is the only lense I used on the entire trip! At no point did I need the 105mm zoom. Ireland is a wide-angle paradise. I would sell my old lense before is baby. I wish this was the L-series kit lense, because that would be all I need other than my 100100-400mm lense. Great buy!
