Review Summary

The best quality of this paper is its dmax. It holds ink well, rendering deep shadows with plenty of detail. In this regard, it performs at least as well as Epson Hot Press, my favorite matte paper. However, it does not render details as crisply as EHP, as the surface is slightly more textured. I would prefer the heavier weight version of this paper. The 210g/m2 is ok for the proofs at 8.5x11 but would be too flimsy for a larger final print.

I have used this paper for years to make color prints of my vibrant paintings to sell. I have felt totally satisfied with the color quality and subtle texture of the paper. The quality is reliably excellent.

I have tried Photo rag 210 and 310 gsm in rolls and cut sheets since 2013. Good blacks and little color change after toner drying. Good art paper look!

I found this paper in my local art and office supply store. It was on sale at the time I found it but it has turned out to be the best photo printer paper I have found yet. It has a great finish and weight for my paper crafting. I used up all I had and went back to my local store to purchase more but they no longer carry it and cannot order it. I was very excited that Adorama has it in stock and the price is great.

What sets the Rag Photographique Smooth Matte Inkjet Paper apart is its unparalleled quality and performance in the realm of fine art printing. This 17"x50' roll of 210gsm paper is meticulously crafted from 100% cotton, ensuring a museum-grade white fine art and photo paper that professionals and enthusiasts alike can trust for their most important works.
The exceptional smooth white tone of this paper is not a mere accident; it is the result of a deliberate manufacturing process that incorporates natural minerals, enhancing both the aesthetic and functional qualities of the prints. This attention to detail in production guarantees a consistent base for your prints, providing a neutral canvas that will showcase your artwork in its truest form.
Developed with the longevity requirements of the Digital Fine Art market in mind, the Rag Photographique paper is not only durable but also boasts a professional-grade extra smooth surface that adds a tactile, sensual feel to the finished product. This smoothness is not just about touch - it plays a critical role in rendering high-resolution prints with sharp details and accurate color reproduction, ensuring that every print meets the exacting standards of fine art collectors and galleries.
Moreover, the paper features one of the highest achievable Dmax (density maximum) values available today, which translates to deeper, richer blacks and an expanded dynamic range. This characteristic is particularly important for fine art photography and printmaking, where the depth of black can make or break the visual impact of an image.
