Be careful the blade has enough play to snag on the tip of the blade. Closed and locked the blade. had brushed the blade opening stud and noticed the tip of the blade seats proud of the handle.

I just received this knife a couple weeks ago. I like it so far. Haven't really had a chance to put it to heavy use yet, but so far, so good. I like the feel. It's a stouter knife than I was expecting. Good quality feel to it. Love the assisted opening, and the double lock feature. This is my first Coast knife. I've had two knives from another brand for many years, so this is a big switch for me. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I haven't had it long enough to test its quality and the quality of the Coast brand. From first impressions, though, it seems like a quality knife, and the price point was pretty amazing for the knife.

I love this knife and have several. Good size and I think the lock feature. The Clam Shell packaging it ships in is dangerous and I was so disappointed Coast would lower themselves to this. The balde ships extended and locked so when you open the Calm shell you have a really good chance of cutting yourself.

I have reviewed several COAST products and although I can't find anything negative to say about their flashlights I do have some constructive criticism with the RX300 knife I received. I found the RX300 a little 'clunky' compared to other knives in the same class. Considering COAST got their start over 100 years ago with knives I would expect a much higher quality. Amazingly, not any single knives are over $50 and although the products come with lifetime warranty and decent value, the build quality is not as good as competitors at the same price point (BUCK for example). I think that COAST may have tried to offer some innovative features like the blade assist, max-lock, 3 position clip and thumb stud but these features come at the expense of a cheap feeling knife and some play in the blade itself. These are subtle issues and perhaps for the average consumer an average knife is good enough? For me, I would like to see other options >$50 price point. Go back to your roots and produce knives which stand out as 'world class' like I believe COAST is capable of.

The RX300 knife is made very well. The quick release is done well and so does the switch to prevent the blade from releasing. Al in all I?m happy I bought this knife.

I have been carrying this knife for 6 months now and it is a great knife. It is sturdy and feels good in the hand, unlike some other knives. The extra blade lock is really nice and holds the blade strong. The open assist takes a bit to get used to, but once I did I actually like it better than some other brands. The only complaint I have is that the bottom of the pocket clip sticks out just a little bit and I accidently scratched my car when getting in.

Seemed like a well made knife gor the money... but some jerks stole my truck 2 weeks after I got the knife, and it only made it out on one camping trip. Bummer!

This was my second Coast knife after I gave away a liner lock to a friend one day while we were on a job site. And it?s the reason I keep buying Coast knives?QUALITY. It?s the smallest non pocket multi bladed knife I own and fits very nicely in my hand. Great grippy feel and the blade assist spring action is lightning fast due to the short blade size. It never fails and the locking mechanism is insurance against accidental opening in your pocket. Blade material is superior and has stayed razor sharp. Can?t say enough good things about this small frame killer product. Definitely worth the price and more. Thanks Coast!

Super fast innovative assisted opening mechanism. A little thick for an edc for the pocket. Very sharp blade with mid-range steel. The Coast double lock system works well on this but the lock tab is a little tight. I wish they made this same knife but thinner and with no serrated end.

This knife is very well built. The ergonomic feel in my hand is great. The drop point blade was razor sharp! Lockup is crisp and very solid. The assisted deployment is fantastic, faster than any of my other assisted opening knives. Although this knife has a locking feature, which I thought I would need to use while in my pocket to assure no accidental deployment, I am very comfortable in not needing to use this. The amount of force to start a deployment is just right in my opinion. I am comfortable it will not accidentally deploy in my pocket. At first I thought the size of the handle was going to be a little large in my pocket, but the feel in my hand is great and it didn?t take me long at all to get used to it in my pocket. Great job on this model Coast!

Great knife! Well made, very sturdy, no fear of closing on hand or blade breaking off during use. I am left handed. The knife comes with 3 positions for the pocket clip. I need the clip on the same side as the lock button, and at the hinge end of the knife. This would be a fourth position for the clip. I like the double sided blade opening knob. Overall, a very well made knife!

RX300 is a very nice knife. Out of the box the knife comes VERY SHARP, which I like. It has multiple clip positions to move the clip where you want it. I recommend using Loctite on the screws though. Nice polymer frame, heavy duty blade. Double locking feature is great. Highly recommend.

Using Coast's Blade Assist Technology, the RX300 Knife is incredibly fast and easy to open and get to work. It combines a liner lock with our Max Lock System to make sure you can comfortably use your knife without it accidentally closing and also be sure it won't open in your pocket. It has a textured fiberglass filled nylon handle with inserts to quickly move the pocket clip between 3 different locations for your carry preference.
With Coast's commitment to quality, the RX300 Knife is backed by Coast's lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Max-Lock
The Max-Lock System is a unique and independent locking system that can lock the blade both in the open and closed position by engaging a metal bar into a riveted stainless steel washer in the blade. Locking in the closed position keeps the assisted opening mechanism from accidentally engaging in your pocket and locking in the open position gives you reassurance that it wont close on your hand. Knives with Max-Lock also have a standard Liner-Lock to make these twice as safe.
To operate the Max-Lock switch, simply push the switch forward to lock the blade and expose the "lock" icon or pull the switch backwards to expose the red mark and allow it to open the blade.
