I have an old D70 converted to infrared and I was hoping for something like the results that were achieved with the infrared film of days gone by. I guess I'll have to wait for the new Kodak filter to come available. Other than that it does improve b&w photos its only a toy so I guess it can wait.

I wanted the square filter but I am able to adjust this to fit in my filter system so it will do just fine

I bought this filter because I've recently gotten into infrared photograph. I really like mixing the infrared with color photography in photoshop and lightroom. It is just different when you have it straight out of the camera. Feels more organic. It is well worth the purchase.

Great results after the post processing learning curve. I was expecting it to be a rectangle filter, not a round filter.

I bought this filter as a way to try infared photography without a lot of expense. The Cokin 89B filter is great. Easy to use , works very effectively. I enjoy the addition of IR images to my fine art products and to portrait sessions. The effect is stunning to my clients and models alike. It is just one more idea to offer my clients.

Took a minute to figure out how to get it installed in the mount, but after that, it's AWESOME! Love the quality and consistency.

This is my first use of an infrared filter and I love it. I would definitely recommend this filter as a starter due to the price and the fact that it part of the Cokin P series (which I am very fond of).

Purchased a news lens and needed series P size. Series P is sandwiched between sturdy pieces of plastic making it easy to grasp and install as well as blocking out any light seepage.

For a really interesting effect, use this filter when shooting in solarization color mode. But most importantly, make sure your digital camera can take photos in infrared.

If you think this is as easy as placing the filter on your lens and shooting, you would be WRONG! You must use a tripod for a long exposure time and learn how to use this filter. While there is nothing wrong with the filter (the filter is deep red, not grey), you need to do some homework. The problem is that most of the Cokin filters are as simple as placing it on your lens and shooting. With this filter, you will also need to manipulate the image in something like Photoshop. On the PRO side, if you can not convert your DSLR into a dedicated IR camera, then this is a good alternative as long as you learn to use it...

Great to buy to use with multiple lenses. Only con is you have to hold it in front of the lens unless you buy the cokin mounts to go with each lens.

I'm using the P series filter on a Hasselblad with Rollei medium-format infrared film. Without a filter, the Rollei film is rated at ISO 400 and looks like any other panchromatic film. With this filter, meter at ISO 6 (you'll have really long exposures). This filter is nearly opaque, so be sure to compose your shot without the filter, then remember to set the filter in front of the lens before exposure (you can easily slide the filter almost out of the holder for composition, then slide it back into position). The resultant images are really stunning.

Let your photography venture into the extraordinary realm of infrared with the Cokin P7 Infrared 89B Filter, part of the esteemed P-Series collection. This high-quality, durable filter is specifically designed to block visible light and only allow a particular range of infrared light to pass through the lens, opening up a world of creative and scientific photography possibilities.
Crafted for versatility, the P7 Infrared 89B Filter can be effortlessly used with a multitude of lenses, making it an ideal choice for photographers who wish to explore infrared photography without the need to purchase multiple filters. Whether you're conducting scientific research, engaging in professional surveillance, or pursuing artistic expression, this filter is engineered to meet your needs.
Photographers using medium-format infrared film, like the Hasselblad with Rollei, have found that this filter requires metering at ISO 6 due to its nearly opaque nature, resulting in truly stunning and unique images with exceptionally long exposures. While it may not be compatible with all camera models, such as the Canon 40D as noted by one user, its ease of use with the appropriate equipment is praised. The filter's design allows for quick composition adjustments - simply slide the filter out of the holder to compose your shot, and then slide it back into position for exposure.
For added convenience, the Cokin P7 Infrared 89B Filter is easy-to-use and can be paired with Cokin mounts to ensure a secure fit in front of your lens, eliminating the need to hold it manually during shooting. This feature, along with the filter's affordability, makes it a smart investment for both amateur and professional photographers alike.
Embrace the allure of infrared photography and elevate your visual storytelling with the Cokin P7 Infrared 89B Filter - a tool that promises to transform the way you capture the unseen world.
