ELIZABETH S : Will this filter fit into the Lee filter holder system for the same size filter? I'm thinking the only reason it wouldn't would be if the filter itself was a different thickness.Jack J : Works fine - that's how I use mine...
Shopper : ND8X Soft - what is the soft means? Soft focus on the clear portion?Jack J : In this case the "soft" refers to the transition from the darkened area to the clear area of the filter. A hard ND (Neutral Density) filter has an abrupt transition from dark to clear, while a soft ND has a gradual transition.JAMES W : Soft referrs to the edge where the lighter and darker parts of the filter meet. At this area the filter gradually gets darker as opposed to having a hard line. I personally prefer this type because it is more useful in more situations and alllows me to be more creative by stacking filters etc. Others find the Hard lined filters are easier to position because they are more obvious in the transition area. I hope this helps. It's definitely something you should ahve in your bag at all times along with you circular polarizer
Shopper : Which Cokin graduated ND filter(s) would work best for full sunsets in Maui?STEVEN N : I would recommend Cokin GND ND8x Soft for Sunrise or Sunset and the filter size base on your lens diameter. Cokin Z-Pro works great on lens with 77mm.DENNIS S : That's what I use for sunsets/sunrise I just hold that in front of the lens. Pretty easy.

Great for Any Bag!

I liked having a set of filters again after loosing my set years ago. Now I don't have to shoot two shots and put them together in Photoshop. I like seeing the shots as I take them.

A great product

Very easy to use as it just slides into the holder. Being a soft version the lighting becomes perfectly blended creating a natural look. I especially wanted this for sunset pictures and it works wonderfully. I certainly recommend it and plan to buy other filters over time.

It's good stuff

The Z-Pro graduated ND filter kit have enabled me to photograph landscapes into the Sun to a whole new level. The quality of the kit is very good.

Ok but...

Used this to reduce contrast between sky and land when shooting landscapes in Yosemite. I had trouble positioning the filter in exactly the correct position - it is hard to see where the shading begins but with time I hope to be more exact. My main complaint is in the quality of the color produced - it is too intense. I find that I prefer the Singh Ray filters

Works fine

This filter works just fine for most people. I got it for some beach sunrise photos and it worked good. I have to admit that I am partial to glass filters though. At a quarter of the price of glass, this is a value though. And if you are going to take a filter in a high risk for damage area, such as blowing sands on a stormy beach, this can't be beat.

Great - My new favourite toy

I live in the desert (Dubai, UAE) so some screamingly bright days. Been looking for one of these localy and gave up and let UPS take the strain. Fantastic product, helps counter the brigh skys, it's my new must have in the photo bag. Highly recomend it to anybody who struggles with bright skys, Photoshop is good but a GND is MUCH better.
