It does work well, (and has the usual depth issues when you first start using it.).  I bought it to work on Surface Mount Electronics, and it does work well.  The inner lens flips up against the visor top if you do not need the extra magnification.  It is less expensive than some options, but for the money you save; it is well worth it as the velcro adjustment is more accomodating to comfort.
