I upgraded from 6gb to this 8gb and what a difference. This is by far the best money you can spend to upgrade your computer. With the 6gb I could run lightroom and photoshop and that was about all. Now I have no problem running them and Spotify and email and my browser. 2gb made a world of difference for me.

I purchased the Crucial Technology 16GB (2x8GB) 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-10600 to upgrade my mid-2011 iMac. Works great. Very tight fit, must use some force to install. I was afraid of damaging the cards so I didn't press firmly enough to properly seat the cards. It will be obvious once they seat. If they don't snap into place they are not properly seated.

RAM arrived intact and installed easily. However, I was sad to learn that my 32-bit PC OS (Windows 7 Pro) cannot handle more than 4GB (3.24GB usable) RAM. So, this upgrade was totally worthless for me. For somebody with a 64-bit OS, I'm sure it would have worked great.

My desktop just died so instead buying a new one I decided to upgrade the RAM on my laptop to make it last as long as possible. To make sure you're buying the correct RAM for your system, please be sure to use Crucial's system scan. As for Adorama, this was a smooth transaction from start to finish. Upgraded an early 2011 13" Macbook Pro from 4 GB (2x2GB) to 16 GB (2x8GB). The computer runs well now since it is no longer constantly swapping when the browser is open. I think 8GB (2x4GB) would have also made a dramatic improvement but decided to go to the maximum. Highly recommended for those wanting to put new life into a slightly older Macbook Pro.

After a really bad experience upgrading my 13" early 2011 Mac Book Pro with non-Apple certified ram, I looked for an affordable option to paying their prices. Adorama had one and I jumped at it. Tough to review RAM since it either works or it doesn't. I had used the Crucial site to verify this was compatible with my older Lenovo G560 laptop and it was - this is the maximum supported 8Gb. Simply replaced the existing 2 * 2Gb modules with these and booted right up no issue. Just how a RAM upgrade is supposed to be.

My Macbook Pro has been running great for almost 6 years but with Mavericks and the new Yosemite update looming from Apple the 4GB of memory wasn't cutting it. 4GB of memory will run Mavericks but load anything flash based or have multiple programs going at once and you'll constantly see the swirly rainbow. Luckily Apple released an upgraded firmware a few years ago to allow late 2008 model Macbook Pro's to be able to use the full 8GB instead of the 6GB limit before the new firmware. I've only been using the upgraded memory for about two weeks but coupled with a solid state drive the upgrade to 8GB memory has made using my Macbook Pro an enjoyable experience again. I think i might get another year or two out of this laptop with just those two upgrades.
