Church Hearing Assist
By DAVE G.
Hearing assist for church services. Installed as expected and users have been very pleased with sound quality and the simplicity of the operation of the unit.
The Comtek CC-75 MLD large area assistive listening system features the all-new PR-75a AutoSmart-Tuning (AST) receiver and BST-75 mini base station transmitter. The BST-75 is used with a rack mount and external antenna and is powered by 12 volt AC for permanent installation. The Comtek PR-75a receiver may be used with stereo or mono headphones and direct audio input cords for use with hearing aids and cochlear implant processors. It can also be used with the NTC-102 neckloop for use with hearing aids having a "T" coil. When a headphone, direct audio input cord or NTC-102 is plugged into the PR-75a, the receiver will automatically turn on and tune to the transmitter in its closest proximity. This system is also ideal where multiple transmitters in the 72-76 MHz band are operating independently in the same building. Pushing the ATS button will cause the PR-75a to re-initiate the tuning process to capture transmission from the nearest compatible transmitter. This allows the same receiver to attend multiple events in different rooms at church, school, courthouses and more.
BST-75 Base Station Transmitter
The Comtek BST-75 mini base station transmitter meets the highest professional standards while offering outstanding value and the most advanced technology available. This versatile and innovative transmitter is simple to use, yet it has sophisticated features such as "Flash Memory" 98-channel programmability with synthesized manual 10-channel selectable user-switch. Plus a unique multifunction RF indicator detects bad antenna load, RF presence, coaxial cable short or open condition for quick and easy troubleshooting. All this is designed into a stylish, compact, all-metal enclosure suitable for permanent rack-mount installations or for stand-alone portable applications.
PR-75a AutoSmart-Tuning Receiver
The Comtek PR-75a personal receiver is simple to use, reliable and affordable. It is available with a pro-audio EQ (Option P) for high fidelity operation or with the standard EQ which emphasizes the frequencies that define speech intelligibility for auditory assistance and other personal communication applications. The AutoSmart-Tuning (AST) function makes it possible for the listener to use the same receiver to attend multiple programs at church, school classes, tour guide presentations and for personal auditory assistance.
This unique receiver will automatically turn itself on and initiate its AutoSmart-Tuning process when the earphone is plugged in. The PR-75a receiver selects the closest appropriate transmitter in its vicinity and then sets itself to this channel. A convenient, one-button tuning control will cause the PR-75a to reinitiate the AutoSmart-Tuning process allowing the receiver to re-tune to a different compatible transmitter at venues where multiple transmitters are in use. Additionally, the PR-75a can be programmed for a set frequency or for a preset group of frequencies that can be accessed in sequence using the one-button tuning control (Program B).
