alan t : does this machine use 10mm tape?DALE F : Yes, it does. The tape measures exactly one centimeter. I was surprised to learn that the tape comes in other dimensions, as I have never seen any in a different size.ALLEN H : I’m really not sure. The only tape I have ever used is 3/8”, not sure if 10mm would work. It is getting very hard to find tape any more so I will be switching to a totally different type of labeling. Very disappointing because I have used the Dymo Labelers for many years. I guess it’s not high-tech enough for today’s society!JOAN T : I use 9mm (3/8”) in mine but there is a little space on the side of the tape as it exits but looking inside where it loads I don’t see the same space. All that to say maybe yes or maybe no! Sorry to be no more help. If you try it let me know. Where do you get 10mm tape?
Shopper : How do I load the tape?DAVID F : Pull the top of the back handle down. Pull some of the tape out of the spool.Slip the tape into the slot at the top of the handle. Turn the dial indicator to the bracket symbol next to the @. Squeeze the trigger handle and gently push the tape up the slot towards the dial. When you squeeze the handle and the tape is pulled out of the spool it's engaged . Give the handle a couple of clicks until you can see the label. Slip the spool into the handle and close the cover. I have found that after making a label and cutting it you should make sure the dial is on the bracket symbol next to the @ . Give the handle couple of clicks to get the label out a little bit so it doesn't jam in the slot.CARON M : With great difficulty and patience. You have to feed the tape by hand pushing it into the tape slot as far as you can. While pushing it, have the embosser wheel set to the scissors indicator. If you are pushing the tape and clicking the trigger the tape will eventually catch and advance into the machine. There are instructions under "Manuals" at Dymo's website but you have to fuss with it several times.
Shopper : how do I get additional tapes?CARON M : Search online for Dymo label writer tape and you will find some retail and online sources for the tape.JASON D : I ordered it at the same time I bought the label maker from Adorama: Dymo embossing tape.

Terrible

I bought this today, and it broke right after I learned how to use it. I made three or four test strips and then the dumb thing stopped working altogether. Don’t waste your money on this flimsy piece of junk like I did. I want my money back.

adequate

This particular machine is what I would call light-duty. It works, but there are (or at least were) better models on the market. But it's very affordable.

Didn't even work thru one roll of labels

Made a few good labels at first but just got worse and worse. Before i finished the first roll it stopped feeding . You press the handle and hear it click then no more clicks as you press again and again. Remove the roll and it clicks every time. Tried the second roll and it never moves. You help it and it moves a time or two then stops

Reliable, easy to use

For the old-school types, it really doesn't get any better than this. Its simplicity means it's easy to use and very reliable. If you have large hands, fear not; I have fairly large hands but yet the hand grip is surprisingly comfortable. Best of all, I don't need to worry about batteries. I read a lot of complaints about how the letter isn't as large as it used to be but if you haven't used one of these before, you'll never notice it. The letters are more than large enough to read unless you trying to read it from across the street. If you have some serious labeling to do, then perhaps a different device would be more suitable for you. But if you're looking for a novelty device or something for fun yet functional, this should fill that itch.

unreliable

Its great for about a dozen uses, then just stops embossing altogether and the blade dulls to the point where it can't cut the label.

They don’t make them like they used to

I had to buy at least three.... thinking that this would be the last time, but nope. Like with all my other label makers, it started to jam up or it doesn’t emboss correctly. My family used to have one, and that worked perfectly for years. I miss this easy to use label maker and love the vintage look of it. But I can’t keep spending money on defective items. Please Dymo, please try to make a new and better product.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

My grandmother had one of these label makers for eternity so when I wanted to label some items in my kitchen I thought this was an obvious choice. Economical with a fun, vintage aesthetic. After using it a dozen or so times the mechanism started to feel different when I squeezed the handle and it completely stopped working altogether. I guess you get what you pay for.

Can't use this at all

We bought this a few months ago. Neither one of us could load the correct tape into the machine. It is just impossible. Could never use it. Waste of money.

Both original and replacement broke after one use

The title pretty much sums it up. Absolute junk and a pain in the butt to return.

OK, but not Great

I had a similar model for over 10 years that would no longer accept the thinner tape that is no longer available,. I got my newer model that lasted about 2 months. This is my second one in less than a year. Be gentle with this one and watch how you change tapes. Too bad I could not find a detailed instruction sheet on line. It's cheap and does the job, albeit amateurish.

simple, but letter spacing W A Y to wide...

cheap and effective, but with the spacing between letters so wide, it limits how i can use it. seems that the spacing is set up just to use more label tape than necessary.

It works like I rememered from 40yrs ago

I had one of these back in the 70's and this new one is identical in performance and quality. I knew exactly what I wanted and it was nice to get what I wanted and what I expected. I also bought a 3 pack(red, green, blue of additional labels.

Good label maker for newbies

What I loved about it: It was easy to figure out even for a first timer. The inside flap of the packaging had very helpful step-by-step instructions with pictures that showed how to load the label cassette and how to use the label maker itself. I loved its shape! It reminded me of a futuristic space gun (or a revolving restaurant haha :D The label maker itself was lightweight and the handle, though wide, fit comfortably in my hand. I also loved the blue & green design. The finished labels had easy to peel off backing and stuck firmly on surfaces. After using this, I felt quite accomplished (and a little bit too pleased with myself) and thought, "This must be how Martha feels when she organizes stuff!" :D Even if you are no Pinterest fiend, this would certainly make organizing less of a chore. It was quite addicting too! It was hard not to put labels on everything :D Some areas of improvement: I wish it had more characters included. I wanted to try emoticons but there wasn't a colon or semicolon included. Maybe in the future have the option for interchangeable character wheels? This is probably due to my inexperience as well but I found that I had to trim some labels so that the spacing before and after the words were even. The constant clicking of the wheel can eventually annoy whoever's in the room with you :D *A tip for best results: Make sure to squeeze hard enough so the letters get embossed deeply. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest feedback. All opinions are my own and unpaid.

Decent

This is similar to the labor organizers I've used in the past. It's easy to use and great for scrap booking (Acid free). Has Alphabet and numbers plus punctuation. My only concern is how long the labels last- I guess I'll find out. I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own

Handy Label Maker!

I found the Organizer Xpress to be one handy little gadget! It makes labeling and organizing a breeze. I found the design of the Organizer Xpress to comfortable and easy to use. One issue I had after changing to a new embossing label is that the tape did not seem to feed consistently. Several times it would stamp letters on top of each other so then I would have to start over, but majority of the time they came out fine. I found these labels to be super useful in my spice cabinet. I have my spices on a tiered rack but it's hard to tell what each spice is unless you lift up the container to see the label (which is around the middle of the container). Easy solution with the Organizer Xpress - I made a label and stuck it to the side of the lid, now I can see what everything is without even picking up a container! I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own.

So Easy & Ready to Use

The DYMO Organizer Xpress™ is a handheld label maker. This nifty little device comes ready to use right out of the package. It fits perfect in your hand, is super light, and extremely easy to use. You just turn the dial to the character you want to be printed on your embossed label, then, once you have it in place, you just squeeze the trigger. You want to make sure you squeeze the trigger firmly or the embossing won't come correctly and you won't be able to read the label. The biggest difference between the DYMO Organizer Xpress™ and other label makers is the embossing creates a raised 3D effect on the characters instead of a smooth surface on the label. I love how easy it is and that you don't need any batteries. It is simple enough that a kid can use it. The bad thing about the DYMO Organizer Xpress™ is that your hand can get a bit tired if you use it a lot without a break. If you suffer from arthritis or have a weak hand this might not be the label maker for you. Overall it is a great handheld label maker. Disclaimer: I received this product for free from Smiley360 in exchange for my honest review. Opinions are 100% my own.

So Handy!

I received this product for free from Smiley 360 for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own. I absolutely love this label maker. It's super handy to have for when you have to make a quick label. The simplicity of it is actually great. I have an electric label maker as well but I tend to accidentally delete what I typed before printing. This you just type and go! I used it for organizing some of my jewelry making supplies and my husband also used it for labeling drawers on his tool chest!

Just OK

I received this product for free in exchange for my review. Opinions are 100% my own. When I first got this I was surprised because it looked about exactly the same as the ones back in the 70's (when I was a kid), and I didn't know they still made them. The picture directions on the package were not that easy to follow but the machine isn't that complicated, so pretty easy to figure out without directions. When I first tried to make a label I couldn't see the white printing on the tape and I thought great, the inks dried up and it isn't going to work, luckily my husband remembered how to work them and showed me that you had to press and hold, after that I had no problems seeing the letters. It is time consuming having to click back and forth through all the letters and I had to use scissors to cut my labels from the machine. When I went to stick my labels it was difficult to get the backing off, even with long fingernails. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this product when there are more advanced, easier labelers out there. I'm going to let my 6 year old son play with it with hopes that it will help him with spelling.

Just ok.

It great for labeling folders and kids supplies and little crafts and stuff. It is very easy to load. My only complaint is you have to squeeze pretty hard to get it to work. This is a very manual simple label maker. If your only occasionally labeling things this would be great for the price. If your serious about your labeling I would go with a more advanced product. I received a free product for the purpose of my review. Opinions are 100% my own.

Awesome Organizing Tool

I am a crazy organizer. I love labeling things, having a spot for everything and am obsessed with plastic bins for organizing. I recently was able to dry a dymo label maker. This label maker is an awesome tool for organizing. I've since organized what basically used to be my boyfriend's junk drawer into an awesomely organized junk cabinet. Thanks to the dymo label maker each category is labeled, so it's easy to find what we need. I have also had some fun using the label maker in my art journaling. It has a really cool effect. This label maker is so so easy to use. You simply turn the dial to the letters you need and squeeze the trigger and then clip your finished label with scissors. This label maker is so useful for so many different projects. It's compact enough to store easily. My label maker came pre loaded with black label tape, and it came with an extra roll in a fun bright yellow. I love this tool and I will do many practical and creative projects with it. It is so versatile. I received this product for free for my honest unbiased review.

Awesome features

I received this product free for review through Smiley360. It's very easy to put the label paper in the product. I like this product vs. the others I've tried in the past. I would suggest buying more label paper, it tends to run out really fast. Great for labeling school supplies. Very light weight, easy to use. Seems to be a very well put together product. Does not look cheap. This review is my honest opinion on the product.

Excellent for basic labeling!

I received a free DYMO Organizer Xpress for the purpose of my review and opinions are 100% my own. This label maker is easy to use, even though sometimes you need to press harder so the letters come out nicely, since sometimes the print is not perfect. The labels stick nicely and it works great, so for basic labeling of kid's stuff or at home office it comes handy. I highly recommend it if you want a basic and affordable label maker.
