When I shoot print film (and I still do from time to time), this is what I always order. I love the look and the price.

A *very* nice film! Smooth, fine grain that scans well (though I don't mind the "bite" of the slightly grainier faster films from Fuji). The most impressive thing about this film (to me) is the color - it's rich yet accurate, shows absolutely no visible cast on the high-res (16MP)scans I had done, and in many ways resembles a neutral output from a DSLR (the greens in particular are very pleasing). You know how sometimes you can pick scanned film even in a thumbnail because it just has a slightly weird, muddy, "retro" look? Well, not Pro160C! This stuff is great. Note that I only used it outdoors in natural light so I cannot comment on how it behaves under other circumstances. I used it in a very dusty environment (southern Utah) and had no problems with scratches. I look forward to trying it on some spring flowers in a few weeks to see how it handles more extreme colors. High-frequency, high-contrast details are rendered very well. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite film in this speed range. It's not all that fast, and I know a lot of people who shoot film want to shoot ISO 50 slide film, but print films have gotten amazingly good -- fantastic when scanned. I tend to end up in low light situations, so films in the 400-1600 range give more flexibility. But in terms of slower stuff, if you plan to shoot outdoors/daylight and anything involving people and skin tones, this film is very, very good. I most often use Kodak's Portra line, particularly 400VC and 800, and I've also been trying out Kodak's excellent Ektar 100. But I prefer Fuji Pro 160C for ISO 160 print film. The colors this film produces are very subtle but still saturated; in terms of slide film, you might compare this to Fuji Provia. Pro 160C will amaze you with the those delicate colors -- very pleasing in the gray and tan/beige/lighter skin tone range especially -- but it is also extememly fine grained and sharp. You'll love how it scans. It also works very well with flash, and has great exposure latitude. This is my choice of ISO 160 print film, and I enjoy it very much.

Nice contrasty film, nice (lack of) grain. Great for scanning. The extra 2/3 speed is a wonderful asset.

Very sharp, rich scans from a color print film. A combination of natural color and an uptick in saturation that is subtle and mostly OK (but occasionally noticeable, esp. reds). Very fine grain. On balance, an excellent choice for all-around use.
