First I have to say I love the power of this light, the colour led that changes for each group, the travel case! I love it. I have only one issue and it's a big one, build quality. I've had this light since Dec 2024 and in April 2025 the BASE OF THE LIGHT, where the umbrella holder is, cracked and then broke under the weight of a large umbrella, even though I had only used the large umbrella 4 times since I had bought this light. I have used this large umbrella, with diffuser for a decade and have never had it "break" any thing holding it regardless of its weight. The cracks do not seem to be repairable, and now I have no way to use any umbrella big or small. Not the worst thing but most of my work is on location. It also calls into question how long the base will last at all, especially if I decide to use any large Bowens mount modifiers. Whenever this design gets updated please use a mental base or reenforcement near the umbrella holder or just not plastic, please.

I like the Pro-level bulb and modeling lamp they added to this light, and the large 'FP' logo imprint. I noticed this has a fan in the extension head I got for it to help keep the softbox full, which I had not seen before. I don't like the power button as much on this, which is a rather important detail for me. You have to hold the flash button in until it lights up, and then rotate the dial to turn it on, which is oddly convoluted. I much prefer the larger power button on the underside of the Pro version.

This flash is exceptional. It's the perfect balance of power output and price competitiveness. Although it used the older 600 battery with a slower recycle time the upgraded features are worth the money. I'll soon be adding another one these to the kit. For anyone deciding between this or the 400 model or the wescott variant this unit is the right choice!

Very disappointed with my Canon ST-E3-RT and Speedlites set up so I decided to shop for a reliable replacement, the XPLOR 600 SE is by far the best decision I've ever made. Very reliable (no link drop) and a very long lasting battery. Very easy to use at an amazing price. I got it on a Black Friday sale and the only thing I regret is not buying 2. I highly recommend it. I use it a lot and so far no communication issues between the light and the trigger even if I'm in a place where WiFi signals are strong. I will leave another review regarding radio transmission if I experience any issues but so far so good.

I ha e several ad600's but this new style is a huge improvement. The 40 watt modeling lamp is a spot light and will be useful. The larger numbers on the screen are much easier to read along with it's colors. I will be replacing my older 600's with this model.

This flash is Amazing, It's a tool you must have in order to upgrade your gear and give your work a more professional look. The color consistensy is pretty accurate and the the battery last for at least 3-4 photoshoots (depending on the power you are using it. I'm a product/food photographer and I use it between 4-64)
