I love it so far. It does what I had researched about parabolic systems says it should do. The light it throws and it?s wrap is spot on. I haven?t used the more expensive brands so until then, this will do just fine. I?m afraid if I try the broncolor that I?ll want it so bad that I?ll sell my left arm for it. That?s the way it goes in photography though. I could afford this one and I?m happy with it. I?ve only used it a handful of times though. I look forward to using it as much as possible.

These are very nice, but a deep umbrella can accomplish 90% of what this does. They are well made and I have no issues with the 3 I own. The idea is that you are combining a big soft light with a smaller more specular source. It's adjustable contrast by moving the head in and out. That can be done with a big & deep umbrella as well. As soon as you put a white cover on it, you no longer get the specular highlights that make things sparkle. You can also use a small(7") reflector on a second head in front of a big softbox to control contrast and specular light. Turn the box up for softer light or the 7" reflector up for more specular highlights and more contrast. There are three ways to make good light with adjustable sparkle and contrast. Use one of them for key on your portraits and you will be ahead of 98% of portrait photographers who only use a dull softbox.

I stand by the Glow brand for over producing a GREATquality of light within my budget. I currently have all but the 71inch Parabolic which is to big for my current studio space/needs. But a super banger for your buck.

Just recently used it on location for Corporate Portraits . Extremely well made, ( a little heavy but with a 800ws strobe and the counter balance I expected that) It astounds me that the Broncolor version is $3762.00 Please note that a Mathews type studio stand is needed to handle the size and weight.

I give this four stars simply because I have not used any competing light modifier. The build quality feels solid. I like the aluminum tube for the focusing rod. The fiberglass rods that are the ribs feel really good and the rubber sleeving on the exposed rods makes opening this modifier a lot more pleasant. That rubber, as well as on the locking buttons may, or may not wear out quickly. I particularly like the fact that the baby-pin socket is sized so that it can also be used with a junior socket. The fabric feels tough and the silver lining appears robust. in the couple of hours that I've played with it, I'm getting good efficiency and I like being able to focus the light to give the look that I want. For my small home studio, this is a perfect size. On first encounter, this seems an excellent value for the money. I plan on using this item on location, so we'll see if it's as tough as I think.

As the name implies it really was a quick open umbrella soft box, perfect for on location shoot saving valuable time for setting up lighting equipment.

better quality than i expected. i’m not sure how long the rods will hold up since they feel like they’re made from plastic so they might be brittle after lots of use/time. the focus rod needs to be better made. it’s not even a good circle...seems like a 7yr old made it i wanted to give it a try since i’m buying it from adorama. giving it serious consideration to return it but i’ve done so much work to customize it so that it fits my Profoto B10 Plus. the sales rep from adorama that helped me hasn’t even returned my call of emails and it’s been over a week! ha!
