After trying at least 5 other brands, Glyph Technologies hard drives have proven the most reliable, and well built. And their 1-2-3 warranty is probably the best in the business. This is the third drive I have had from them. The second is still working after around 6 or 7 years. I bought this one ? an updated version of the second one ? for more space and flexibility in my workflow. I'd also like to send a shout out to their tech support team. This unit ships with the RAID0 setting, and I wanted to switch it to RAID1. I called the support number to speak to someone to talk me through it, which he did in a calm and clear fashion. He also gave me his direct number and email and said not to hesitate to contact him (day, night or weekend!) and he would get back to me. It was really nice, and unexpected.

An excellent product!
The Glyph Technologies SR4000 Studio RAID 4TB (2x2TB) External Hard Drive Array can be used to store, backup and safeguard your data such as work documents, photos, music, videos and more. The two drives installed in the StudioRAID each have a 2TB capacity, spin at 7200 RPM and can be configured in either a RAID 0 or 1 configuration. When configured in RAID 0, transfer speeds of up to 360 MB/s are possible.
Other features that the StudioRAID offer are an all-metal enclosure and a built-in fan to keep the drives protected and cool. The back of the StudioRAID is outfitted with USB 3.0, FireWire 800 and eSATA ports and USB, FireWire and power cables are included to get you started right away.
Auto-Sensing Power
Never worry if the country you are in is 120 or 240 volts. After you plug-in the StudioRAID to the wall socket the power supply automatically senses which one to use.
Configurable to RAID 0 or 1
RAID 0 shares data between two drives giving you the best performance. RAID 1 stores identical data onto both drives to preserve data if one drive fails but reduces the total storage capacity by half.
Disk Health Monitoring
Each hard drive is continually monitored for temperature changes and if the drive is deteriorating, you can replace it before it fails.
Quiet Intelligent Fan Cooling
Internal fan that runs quietly which helps keeps the hard drives cool and only turns on when needed.
