I am very happy with this lens which is now primarily being used for headshots. It is fast to focus with only a small amount of hunting in low light conditions.  The images are very crisp, what you would expect from a Hasselblad and it also connects well with my X2D as well as a 907X.  It is a little bit heavy, but I am mostly shooting this tethered and am not carrying it around much outside of the studio. I still prefer prime lenses to zooms, but my commercial work tends to be very predictable.  This is not a sports lens. It is a fine portrait lens and I am happy to have it.

If you're looking at this lens you already know what it is.  Reviewers are right:  don't buy it without the converter.  That said, it being a hassy lens its a brick!.  NB:  the foot on the tripod collar is NOT standard size and you will need an adapter of some sort.  and you'll want those legs with the adapter in place.  Without, the X1d is hand holdable with this lens .  Just takes a moment to find that grip - and I'm a manual focus kind of guy
 ( PEAKING!) This aint a sport lens as the X1D ii is not a sports camera.  It's nice that the elements move within the barrel.  As I said in the beginning, if you're reading this you already know what this lens is all about.  In 45 years of holding cameras my first "next lens" has always been something long.  This is what you get from Hasselblad and it doesn't disappoint.
