This filter worked about as I expected it to - the build quality is good and it threads onto the lens smoothly, and it worked as advertised at substantially reducing the yellow light reflected from light pollution in town off some contrails in the night scene I was photographing. It doesn't magically remove all the light pollution like a narrow-band filter would, but it did admirably at what it was advertised to do. The reduced yellow light gives the images a purple hue that I need to work on compensating for, but that's an expected and desired effect.

Great filter and well built. We have a lot of light pollution in Houston and this filter does a great job of correcting colors.

Not a fan. I’ve only used it a couple of times, but I get a perfect circle in the middle of all of my pictures. I have been in dark areas, and I seem to get less stars with it than I do without. Maybe it needs the light pollution, I don’t know.

Great for cleaning up the night sky when you are close to city lights. Darkens the sky and has great clarity for these pictures.

Well built filter. Feels really solid on the lens. Tried it out for the first time last weekend and it definitely seemed to reduce light pollution.

First I will say its the only filter of this type I have ever owned but the difference in the shots with and without the filter mounted are amazing.

Works well. I use it for Astro Photography to filter city light pollution. A dew heater strip might be needed to keep dew off if using at night.

The filter does a good job of intensifying red, brown and orange colors. I have not been able to use it for astrophotography yet.

I first heard of this filter at an astronomy seminar - was too expensive for me until Adorama put it on sale. Recommended if you want to explore star photography

I got this since didymium helps with for dimming sodium lighting flare, but I think a second filter stacked would be needed for my taste. Other than that, this is a great filter

This filter does just what I had hoped it would do, kill as much light pollution as possible for astro-photography.

This filter is a great addition to a landscape photographer's kit, it's especially useful in mildly light-polluted areas for astrophotography, along with enhancing the reds and oranges while shooting fall colors and sunsets.

A friend loaned me his filter and I knew with one shot I wanted it! The smoothness and color enhancement was amazing! I'm using it on a Nikon 750. I waited 2 mths for this filter and I'd do it again.

Anyone that can't get away from suburbia to capture the night sky knows the pains that come with purple- and red-tinged hues. This filter nullifies them and gives you true and accurate color. Simply fabulous!

I was pretty satisfied with this product. I actually thought it might add a little more intensity but all in all it does the job.

I use this filer extensively during the fall for foliage shots. This filter will not add red where it is absent but will enhance existing reds and browns, adding vibrancy to a dull scene. It also works well for animals and plants that are red or brown (white tailed deer, red fox, cardinal flower). It will even bring a richer tone to a forest floor blanketed with brown leaves. I have also had good results with sunrise/sunsets as well. Christmas is another time of year when it works well, as there are many red lights and decorations, and santas suit will glow. It really is a must have filter.

Find the perfect solution to enhance your photography with the 49mm Red Starscape Glass Filter, often referred to as a 'didymium' filter. This specialized filter is designed to amplify the vibrancy of red, orange, and brown subjects, providing more color saturation and contrast, while minimally affecting other colors.
Ideal for a variety of photography scenarios, this filter is particularly effective in architectural photography, where it can emphasize specific features of buildings, adding depth and dimension to your images. It's also a powerful tool for landscape photography, enhancing the richness of foliage and rocky features, making them stand out in your compositions.
The 49mm Red Starscape Glass Filter is also known for its ability to significantly reduce the yellow light reflected from urban light pollution. This feature is especially useful for night photography, where it helps to capture clearer and more defined images of the night sky. However, it's worth noting that this filter may give your images a purple hue, which can be adjusted in post-processing for those seeking a more natural color balance.
Constructed with high-quality materials, this filter threads onto the lens smoothly, ensuring a secure fit and easy application. Experience the difference in your photography with the 49mm Red Starscape Glass Filter, a tool designed to enhance your creativity and elevate your images.
