Great mid-level filter!

It fit perfectly, threaded on smoothly, and still fit the lens cap. The glass is smooth and clear and had no defects. I'm very happy with it!

I have bought several Hoya UV filters for different lenses before. They are all good. The one is also very good in quality.

Used on all my lenses

I use the Joya Alpha Multi-coated UV optical glass filter on all my lenses because I shoot a lot at the beach and other areas where my lens would be pelted by blowing sand. This protects my lens. I have never noticed any degradation in my photos because of using it.

Basic, but not great

It's OK for the money. I'd recommend spending about $7 more for a B&W. The glass is good. The filter threading seemed rough; it should have been polished. The internal metal ring that holds in the glass didn't meet end-to-end; there was a gap - making me think it will pop out later.
