This is a good protective filter. I've only used it for indoor photos so far, but I'm happy with the results.

Always had good service from Hoya filters and this is no exception. This is an excellent filter to just keep on my lens for protection and reduce sky hazing in color and B/W films.

I already have one of these, but needed another one for a second lens. I am happy with it, and recommend it to anyone.

This filter is almost always on the lens, it only comes off when I'm using another one. I don't like to stack them as if I shoot at 16mm the stacked filters show up.

Well built filter for the price. Purchased for my 55-200mm zoom to warm up skin tones outdoors without having to fiddle with white balance. Also makes for affordable front lens element protection. Mission accomplished.

Good quality glass. Doesn't affect the images. Keeps dirt and smudges off the lens itself.

Hoya HMC filter with almost no wear, just needed a thorough cleaning to be like new. This may be an older series of filters, but the performance is still excellent, the HMC line is my go-to for value and no compromise optical quality.

I still use film for a number of reasons, and the filters are crucial for the types of photo's i usually take. Hoya filters have always performed as expected. Good quality control on the manufacturing side. The fair pricing is also a plus. There are better filters, yet these are hard to beat for the prices you pay.

Dropped my lens; it smashed lens cap down onto concrete. The lens cap was forced onto the filter, the filter was broken, but after having it removed at a repair shop, the lens itself was in perfect condition and even the lens cap was fine. The filter absorbed the force and saved the lens. I immediately ordered a replacement.

I work mainly in nature photography and that often means challenging environments. Recently this filter saved the front element of my lens from damage. Ok, that means it was sacrificial, but better that than expensive and time consuming repair to one of my main lenses for field work.

Adds a little blush to skin tone. Warms scenes a tiny bit. Lens protection with a bonus.

I've been using Hoya HMC and S-HMC filters for years. They are excellent filters at a very good price. I prefer a Skylight filter to a UV because it adds a slight bit of warmth.

Clear, protects the lens. Subtly warmer than straight UV filter. Good for "people pictures".

I use this filter to protect the lens of my Sigma DP1. I've used Hoya filters for years with not a single problem.[...]

The description does not specify that this is a 1B filter. I would have prefered a 1A filter even though the differences are slight (the 1B is warmer than the 1A). It would have been nice to know this before I ordered. I'll still keep and use it since the difference is minimal.

This is a great inexspensive filter. Gets the job done with nice optics. Its also a good lens protector. I dropped my camera, and it landed directly on the filter, the results was a busted filter, but.... protected my lens. Thank God!!!! Its a good filter and I recomend it.

Hoya An Excellent Filter, -Good Price

Nature photography, and this is a very good brand that I prefer over all other brands. Very well made.
Reduces the excessive bluishness that frequently occurs in outdoor color photography, especially in open shade under a clear, blue sky.
The absorption peak is in the range which corresponds to the film's green spectrum. This means outstanding outdoor shots with superb color balance and clarity under all conditions.
Also keeps skin tones free of colored reflections from nearby objects such as the shade of trees.
