Outstanding Canon Product

This camera is simply a solid evolution from a Canon EOS3 film body to a Canon EOS10 Digital Body to a Canon 7D Digital Body finally to a Canon 7D MkII to augment also a Canon 5DS full frame digital Body and myriad of Canon lens's. We wish there would have been the advent of a 7D MkIII but it was not to be. First outing with the Canon 7D MkII was remarkably outstanding and that is an understatement. We know that there are others out there but we feel this is a standard which others still at this late date should be judged even though it is no longer being produced. We have chosen to stay with a single lens reflex system vs mirrorless because we truly want to peer through the lens in a TTL format and compose one frame at a time.

Still don't have the camera I ordered!

Apparently Canon had an inventory tracking problem with this camera body, so they canceled my order, but NEVER TOLD ME until I called Canon to track it down. They said to wait until it comes back in stock. A couple weeks later they said it was back in stock, so I ordered it again, over the phone. When it arrived, it was the WRONG CAMERA! Called Canon again, the agent was polite and apologized on behalf of Canon, but beyond that said I would have to watch and see when or if they ever get it back in stock. I am very disappointed that Canon doesn't make more of an effort to make this right, since they are the ones that made multiple mistakes with my order. I still don't have the camera I ordered!

Where is my product ?

Upset that I am being asked to review a product I don’t even have. My money is gone but I don’t have the camera. I have called numerous times to check on the status of my order but no one picks up.

Sport Photography

I bought this camera when it first came out in 2015. I had looked and reviewed video on. I shoot Rodeo Photography but I do a few wedding a year and portraits. I am so amaze by it and I am now looking to by another one so my back up camera will be the same. I just love the speed of this camera never miss a shot.

The Best

The best canon camera in my view. It's made of metal, a beautiful machine and takes great photos. Looks new to me.

Worth the price and good enough for paid work.

This camera body has lots of features and enough focus points to do just about any kind of work. The downside is it can be a little slow to gain focus and doesn't always hold it. The images can be a little on the grainy side but that is to be expected with a crop sensor so it's nothing major here. Overall I have enjoyed working with it though it is time for a full frame upgrade soon.

The amazing Canon 7d Mark II

This was an upgrade for me and I couldn’t be happier. The wi-fi option is extremely convenient to use when you want to see your work quickly on an iPad when out in the field. One tip regarding the wi-fi, if you want to upload your pictures to a laptop using the cord rather than doing it via wi-fi, remove the wi-fi card first before the upload. Nothing was mentioned in the manual and I had to call Canon directly to get this information for the upload to work. I love the amount of focus points and the quality of the pictures are superb. The extras that came with my purchase was a nice bonus.

Great Camera, now a successor

What a camera it is. It still is , in 2020. Really perplexed by the lack of a successor for so long. A successor would definitely givee other brands a few sleepless nights.

Poor quality control at Canon

This camera is unreliable. Most of the time it does not turn on. When the camera does turn on, it will stop functioning. An AF icon flashes in the view finder sometimes when the camera will not focus. Other times the camera does not respond to any buttons

This is a real Workhorse of a camera

I first purchased the 7D in November 19th 2009. It was and still is a Workhorse of a camera. I purchased the 7D Mark II on July 24th 2019. Newer technology they say. So far it has lived up to all of my expectations. I photograph weddings birthday parties events landscapes Sports still lives travel nature food architecture anything that can be photographed I have done it.

Superb camera and bundle

Bought this as an upgrade to an 80D primarily for wildlife photography for its fast focus and faster burst mode. The additional lenses made for an excellent combination.

Fabulous for shooting sports.

I bought this camera to go along with the 100-400mm Canon lens. I am using to shoot high school track. It’s awesome. The 10 fps is amazing. It focuses instantly. I love it. Pictures are awesome.

Great Features!

I bought my first Canon in 1979, an A-1 and then I bought a second one, also an A-1. I went digital with a Rebel T-5 in 2016 to shoot a wedding, then upgraded it to a 7D Mark II in 2017. I enjoy outdoor land & waterscapes, and wildlife photography, but wanted to go full frame and mirrorless. I looked at the new EOS R, but really missed the flexible functionality in manual mode offered by the EOS 7D Mark II; by programming a back-button to allow selection of specific and multiple AF points and sections, it's easy to switch from a single to multiple while following a bird in flight! I actually like the flexibility of this camera (7D Mark II so much that I just bought a second one. Don't get me wrong, this camera is not perfect and I would like the noise level worked on; It gets progressively noisy at ISO's above about 1000, so much that I rarely try to shoot above 400-800 ISO and hate going above 1000-1200 ISO. I guess if I turned in a wish list, it would be for the EOS 7D Mark II to come out with a full frame, 50 MP sensor, greatly reduced noise levels, Mirrorless, with a movable back-screen, and keep all the 7D Mark II buttons and their locations, and increased bracket exposures to 11 exposures. Thank you John C. Minnesota

I love this camera, looks new but had over 4,000 shutter count on it. I would have preferred a lower shutter count.

I love the Auto Focus modes! It's so fast I rarely see it focus on moving objects. Pictures come out sharp and clear even at hi ISO. The most value I ever got for my money!

The 7D Mark 2 is a big upgrade from the original 7D. No more EOS body with a crop sensor approaches the fixtures this body has for bird photography.

Great deal on this camera body.

I haven't used it a ton yet as been pretty busy, however this camera came looking brand new. It works as intended and really is a great camera body. Going out up north this weekend with it and am very excited.

BEAST!

By CLN6149

I was tossing back and forth for a good two weeks over getting the 7d mark ii or the 70d. I'm not a pro..but I figured the extra FPS would help me out, especially since I'll be shooting a lot of motorsports next year. We've all heard the horror stories of purchasing a refurb.. anyway I received it this morning, charged the battery, checked the shutter count - 134 pics! I shot about 30 test shots. Works perfectly and if it didn't come in a different box I'd never know it wasn't "new". Beyond h...

7D Mark II is First Class

By Lionheart

My review and proud new owner of the Canon 7D Mark II. I graduated from the Rebel T5 and I must say up front that this camera is by far quite possibly the fastest and most advanced APS-C 1.6x (60% more zoom with any lens) crop factor body on the market! This camera is already becoming the envy from other photographers and my review will be updated periodically to provide deeper insights of this valuable piece of technology. One of the main inspirations for purchasing the 7D Mark II is because...

The Canon EOS 7D Mark II Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-135mm IS STM Lens Kit has a newly designed 20.2 Megapixel sensor that delivers high-resolution image files with stunning detail and impressive clarity. Optimized for low-light shooting, the EOS 7D Mark II's sensor captures images at up to ISO 16000 (expandable to H1: 25600, H2: 51200) with remarkably low noise, thanks to its improved, higher sensitivity design. Phenomenal for stills, the EOS 7D Mark II's sensor is equally up to the task for movies, delivering Full HD capture even at rates of up to 60p.

Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors
The EOS 7D Mark II's sensor works seamlessly with its Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors for advanced image processing across the board. These image processors help capture up to 1090 JPEG, 31 RAW and 19 RAW + JPEG shots in a single burst for amazing action photography. Further, they enable the camera's powerful image processing on-the-fly: lens aberration, variances in peripheral illumination and image distortion can all be corrected in real time thanks to the EOS 7D Mark II's Dual DIGIC 6 Image Processors.

High speed continuous shooting up to 10.0 fps allows you to capture fast action
With a new, rugged shutter designed for 200,000 cycles, the EOS 7D Mark II can shoot up to 10 frames per second to capture all the action. With super quick AF and exposure systems complementing the shutter's 55 msec shutter release time lag, the EOS 7D Mark II is tailored to meet and even exceed the speed of the action. Refined mechanics like a newly designed, more efficient shutter-drive motor and a vibration dampened mirror drive mean impressive performance for high caliber image quality, fast.

65-point all cross-type AF system for high-performance, accurate subject tracking with EV -3 sensitivity (center point) for focusing in extreme low-light conditions
An EOS first, the EOS 7D Mark II features 65 all cross-type AF points for high precision AF at remarkable speed. Cross-type AF points ensure stable AF that is not influenced by the subject's shape or color. On the EOS 7D Mark II, the AF points are spread over a wide area of the frame, enabling faster AF, wherever the subject lies. With a central dual cross-type AF point of f/2.8, AF is enhanced with lenses faster than f/2.8. And thanks to this new system, AF is possible even in dim lighting as low as EV-3.

Canon's innovative Dual Pixel CMOS AF enables you to shoot video like a camcorder with smooth, fast and accurate autofocus and lets you enjoy instant and precise autofocus even when shooting stills
The EOS 7D Mark II features Canon's revolutionary Dual Pixel CMOS AF, a milestone in AF speed and accuracy that unlocks the potential of Live View shooting. This advanced technology has truly changed what is possible with a DSLR camera. The benefits of Dual Pixel CMOS AF are clearly evident in Live View and video shooting, where the EOS 7D Mark II achieves natural, precise focus very quickly, even when switching between subjects. And, combined with the predictive power of Movie Servo AF, subjects in motion are smoothly and consistently tracked - once focus is locked, the EOS 7D Mark II holds on! Plus, with the shallow depth-of-field afforded by EOS optics, video gains a brilliant, cinematic ambience lacking when shooting video with many other Digital SLRs.

HD Quality, EOS Performance
Stunning Full HD video with custom Movie Servo AF (speed and sensitivity) for continuous focus tracking of moving subjects, multiple frame rates including Full HD recording at 60p in MOV and MP4 formats and uncompressed HDMI out. The EOS 7D Mark II delivers refined and detailed image quality with Full HD 60P recording at ISO values up to 16000, has an HDMI output and records to both SD and CF cards for versatility and security during important shoots.
