Overall, recommended. For a laser printer, this does a reasonably good job of reproducing photographs or printing color graphics. It has a lot of functions on the menu that are not intuitive, so read your owner's manual. It's the best color printer I have been able to find currently, although it isn't quite as good, or nearly as fast, as an Oki I purchased nearly 20 years ago. Unfortunately, it's getting harder to find supplies for my old Oki, and since Oki has exited the US market, I can't buy new, so this has to do.

For a business class "duplex" printer not having 2-sided scanning seems ridiculous, but I will put that on me for not reading carefully enough. The constant messages to clean and to subscribe to their toner replacement are annoying and frankly once I tell it to keep printing with a low toner, the warning should go away until the level drops again, or like my old Canon (that I loved) let me decided when to pop back up (50 or 100 pages, etc) However, the paper feed is by far the worst problem. Trying to get it to switch between the drawer and manual feed is a joke. I frequently switch between 3 hole and not (both Ltr size) and Legal and Envelopes. I put a single sheet in the Manual Feed, change my selection in Word to Manual and it prints from the drawer. I put several sheets of Legal in the Manual Feed, tell the printer the size of paper is LGL, print my Legal Size docs from Word, switch to a PDF and print a page that is set for Letter, the printer options are set for Letter and for Automatic and it prints on the LGL from the Manual... , it should be smart enough to know that the paper sizes don't match. It took me long enough after purchase to figure out it wasn't me, the printer just doesn't make sense and since it was an order, no store to take it back to, and I can't even imagine trying to rebox it to ship back so I am just going to live with it, but wish I had done more shopping around. I loved my old Canon so much, it was a workhorse that worked just the way I expected, so I had my heart set on replacing it with a new Canon, but don't feel like this was a good choice.

The printer cartridges cost a fortune but the toner lasts very few pages and then gives continuous messages. "Press Volume Key to continue" but there is no volume key. I wish I had never purchased this stupid printer.

The printing function works well, is flexible, and has good quality. I am an IT professional and I still can't get the scanning to work from the PC over IPv4. I can only scan from the console (MF unit itself. There are no instructions that help.

I'm a real estate agent . I've been happy with my new printer up until now. This is my first deal and I am out of ink. I'm also scanning to my PC and the scan of the 1st page is so light we can't read it. Not sure why its the 1st page only. Didn't figure scan would use ink. Maybe its just the initial cartridge does not come with a lot of ink.

This printer is way beyond fussy. I can only get it to print from the multipurpose tray - no matter what I do it ignores the built in, higher-capacity tray. Not only does this mean the printer occupies more physical space, but I have to go attend to it EVERY time I print a document. If this is not by intention, the support and documentation are so bad that I cannot figure out how to change this behavior, despite considerable effort.

Does great at network printing,even from phone. Colors are flat not vibrant but scan image are decently detailed. Biggest Con is the software. It's chaotic mess. Everything should be in an all in one launcher not multiple spots. Big and beefy printer. Potential large learning curve for new people. Wired or wifi setup was easy,I tested both.

Purchased on CANON website. Clicked on Laser printers, then multi-function, and last scan quality as this is important for our office. When printer arrived, there was no fax. IF all a printer does is scan and print, is that really called multi-function. Unfortunately, can comment on printer quality. Rather only frustration with CANON for making wait on hold for 45 minutes then telling me they'd sent a return label and did not. Now I am on the phone waiting for customer support...it's bee 23 min 33 sec. Really??? Is this quality customer support? Not the CANON company I have used for the past 15 years.

I purchased the Canon Color imageCLASS MF741Cdw because I began working from home and my little inkjet printer just couldn't keep up. This printer makes my job so much easier. Set-up and installation was a breeze and before I knew it I was up and running. It was delivered in a timely manner and was packaged with care. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a printer for a small business.

We had to return this item because the specs were incorrect on the website. We expected it to be all duplex scanner and it was not. It was a huge pain to have to pack it all up and return it and canon did not have the 743 model in stock for us to exchange it. We got the 743 model from Best Buy. My stars don’t really reflect my view on this particular product. It just wasn’t what we wanted.

I spent two days scanning specs of different products and the Imageclass is the only one that had all features I wanted. Wireless device with duplex print, duplex scanning, OCR all at a decent speed. My only mistake was I purchased the 741 instead of the 743 by mistake. For some reason 743 does duplex scanning and 741 only does single sided. The only thing that kind of bugs is the ADF is jam sensitive. Use small stacks for sure :

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I have a home office and have been looking for a printer for a while that would meet my needs. When I got the opportunity to receive this product, I jumped at the opportunity. I will start off by saying that when it arrived, I was surprised at how big it was. This `small` office size printer is very heavy, and I would definitely recommend having two people available to lift it and get it out of the box and situated where you want it. -I, being eager to get it up and going, did it all by myself, and regretted it mid-way through! Getting up the printer up and running was very easy. You just have to connect the provided power cord and turn on the printer. After that, all you need to do is just follow the easy prompts on the 5 inch color touch screen, and the wizard will walk you through the setup process. If you plan on using wifi (which I did, you need to make sure to have the necessary connection information available before hand, as the printer will need your router password and such to connect. The printer arrives with the toner cartridge already installed, so once setup is complete, you’re ready to go. I have a Windows 10 computer, and it found the printer right away. I had already gone to the Canon website to download the drivers and firmware, but found out that wasn`t even necessary, as my computer would have auto done it for me when I first connected to the printer over the wifi network. I will note that while the quick-start guide provided me almost everything I needed to know to set up the printer, there was one bit of information missing. -It lists a large plastic strip as one of the items included in the box, but never explains what the piece is for. I had to go to the Canon website and download the full manual to find out that it is a dust cover for when the paper tray is extended for legal-size paper. This could very easily be remedied, by simply listing out what the piece is for in the quick start guide. Once you are up and running, the printer is fast and the print quality is great. I love that the printer will save the scan right to my desktop like a breeze. The ease at which you can switch from B&W to color is also great. Overall the touch screen user interface is very intuitive and super easy to use. -There is even an option for the printer to auto order you more toner when the printer is low on ink! How great is that?! My only con is that the printer does require more space than the average home printer. I am lucky in that my home office space is quite large, but if you are limited on space, this may not be the best option for you. Overall this is a great printer that offers consistent quality of printing/scanning/copying and it exceeded my expectations.

It was much larger than I expected, but I was able to find a nice spot in my home office for it. The initial set up of this printer is pretty easy. The digital display menu is very helpful, even if you are not a tech person. I was able to set up the printer on my home server in a few minutes, and after that, on my cell phone! The paper feeder tray worked smoothly as well as the scanner. There is not much required as far as the set-up of this printer/scanner. There was only one additional part to clip on. As with most copier/scanner/fax machines, you will need to purchase the phone cord yourself in order to fax. I was able to load the software onto my laptop in a few minutes with no glitches. The color of my copies were really clear and of good quality. There is also an automatic adjustment feature if you need to use it. The off and on time lag is very short (meaning if you have to re-start the printer, it was a very short reboot time.) The paper feeder trays worked smoothly and quickly. One of my favorite features on this printer/scanner is the digital display menu. You can easily look up any error codes and make changes to your home screen and overall settings for printing. It is also very easy to switch from black and white to color copies. Another one of my favorite features is the ability to print from my cell phone. I had to download a free Cannon Print Services app to be able to use this feature. I also liked the fact that I could set up printer options via the internet. The product came with an instruction manual, but it only included instructions for the basic set up. I could not find any additional information on how to set up the email scan. I ended up googling the information, which resulted in me finding a few YouTube help videos on how to set up the scan to email feature...but those videos were not specific to this particular printer/scanner. I spent several days trying various remedies, but have still not been successful. I think that the instruction manual needs to be expanded to include more information. I also found it difficult to find a help desk number to call to have someone assist me. I have used many copiers/printers over my career and in my personal life and find this piece of equipment to be a bit superior to other home printers I have purchased because of the ease of the initial set up and use. I would like to see more of a variety in color choices…other than just black or white. I think this would be a unique feature as the majority of copiers are only available in either black or white. Again, there needs to be more detail in the user manual and/or a help line to call. I would recommend this product for any small office or home office.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The cannon I received was essentially put together without almost any assembly. The box was huge. Packaged well. The one downside I have come across is that it was extremely heavy. Which is to be expected. Some of the images depict having a second person assist with some steps. Such as lifting part of the packaging and obviously setting it where you want it. I was able to do all of this by myself. So it is possible. I was able to get it inside and set up in 30 min or less. And I got it hooked up wirelessly to my laptop. It has step by step instructions which are so easy to follow. It comes with a disc you can use instead of reading directions, I didn’t need that or use it. I was able to print some sheets and copy some other items and it’s pretty quick and the color images are clear and crisp. I am extremely happy with the quality. I wish it wasn’t quite so heavy and large but it really is efficient. I have the space for it so it has a happy home and I certainly do not plan on moving it any time soon.

Probably one of my favorite features is how easy it is to do double-sided copies. This is a great way to save money on paper, especially since my husband sometimes works from home and needs to print reports. The screen display is easy to navigate and there is also an option to scan or copy from the computer itself. Either way works great. I also have printed successfully from my cell phone. The product instructions were very clear, and the machine was easy to get plugged in and ready to go. There was very little to assemble. My difficulty came with getting the printer installed on my computer. After several failed attempts, I called the Canon help line, and the technician there downloaded new software and a new driver for me. Once he was done, it worked like a charm. For some reason, the cd that came with the unit did not work for me to install the software that way. I was very thankful for both the helpfulness and friendliness of the Canon technician. This printer is larger and heavier in size than previous all-in-one printers I have used previously, but it does provide a great copy. However, because of the weight of this unit, you will need a `buddy` to be able to lift it. Overall, I would definitely purchase this printer myself. The only improvement I would suggest is to make it easier for the customer to install on their own.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Setup: This printer was very easy to set up, I think it took a total of 5 minutes. It connects easily to a computer via USB and electronically through WiFi. Printing: The printing is super fast, and a very good quality. I`m impressed with how well the printer handles pictures, presentations and other data. I used it to produce a report for my dissertation, and it handled the figures, data, photos, and text very well. Handles different kinds of paper well, too, cardstock, copy paper, construction paper. Scanning: The scan quality of this printer is very good quality. I was able to scan not only documents but photos for an electronic presentation that supported printed images, `photo printed` photos, and also objects. Cons: The weight of the printer, it was very heavy to move from point A to point B--however, the good outweighs the bad as this machine is amazing. Easily replaced my old multi-function device.
