I bought this computer to enable me to connect to our MS network in the office, carry with me when I travel and use for general purpose business computing. In most respects, it has exceeded my expectations. The boot time is reasonable and it loads my working programs quickly. The processor does not lag even on fairly complex spreadsheet recalculations and the graphics are exceptional given that this is a business computer, not an entertainment computer. Having said that, it handles video streaming with ease and presents a clear image with no problems. The biggest issue for me was that I needed Windows network compatibility for work and my mac with a Windows 7 Professional partition was always clunky and erratic. It was a far better choice to dedicate a system that was designed to work and play well with others out of the box. The Folio is perfect. It is lightweight and has a small enough size for normal work form a coach seat on a airplane. For you other road warriors, you know what I mean if the person in front of you decides to recline their seat. The screen size on the Folio is large enough to make regular work possible, but not so large as to make it unusable in the air. The keyboard feels and works great, although the mouse pad feels stiff and unresponsive at times. My travel mouse solved the problem nicely. It connects seamlessly to my HDMI monitor in my office. I added a USB hub to accommodate a printer, scanner, USB keyboard, a USB mouse and access for my phone. It could use more USB ports, but hey, you gotta give something up for that level of portability. In all, for a work computer that functions great whether on the road or at the desk, the Folio is a high performance system at very moderate price.

After trying out 2 other ultrabooks by other computer companies and returning them, I finally found what I was looking for - the HP Folio 13. I believe it is the only one I could find where you can upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB (and with only one dimm slot). The computer is light, fast, and reliable. Boots up quickly, handles everything I'm doing efficiently, and the integrated video card works great. For the price it's the best deal out there!

I bought this for my Dad mainly due to wanting something light, well this exceeded all my expectations. It is extremely light, additionally very long battery life. He is not a power user, but for web surfing, email, documenting and photos, it's fantastic. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a laptop in the new "ultra book" class!
