Slow, slow......

Wish I had read these other reviews before I purchased this computer AND before I spent hours and hours on the phone with support to no avail. Because it is so slow it is unusable to me. Am returning it.

First Time Dissatisfied

Everything about this computer was slow. Painfully slow boot up. Programs slow to open up, as in 10 minutes if at all. I became well acquainted with the spinning wheel of waiting. My first bad experience with an HP product.

Cheap, but barely usable. Not fit for Windows 10?

I really, really wanted to like this computer, especially at the price and advertised "enough power for the whole family." All I was looking for was an inexpensive machine to do some web browsing, something with a nice big monitor that wouldn't require a lot of fiddling. I work in software and troubleshoot computer issues all day; when I get home, I want my computer to just work. Unfortunately, I spent almost the entire month I owned this computer on support sites and forums and in my settings trying to troubleshoot poor performance. Loading any web page in any of four browsers I tried sent the CPU usage to over 95% and dragged. Trying to load multiple tabs on browser startup? Go make a sandwich and come back later. My best guess is that the machine is just barely powerful enough to run Windows 10; I found a lot of complaints about Windows 10 and high CPU usage. Perhaps if you're willing to scrub the OS and try Windows 7 or your favorite Linux distro, you'd love this computer. At the point where I was starting to contemplate that, I decided to return it. Regardless of exactly what component is at fault specifically, I needed it to just work, and it didn't, even for the lightest possible application.
