I’m still figuring out which images print best on this so take my review with a grain of salt. However, I think I can offer some insight to people already familiar with Hahnemuhle's paper line. Photo Rag Satin: - Craftsmanship: 5 Stars (Another beautifully engineered paper from Hanemuhle). - Feel: 5 Stars (Feels like a premium matte paper with a hint of glossy finish). - Dynamic Range / Color: 5 Stars (The whole purpose of the paper is to give you the best of both glossy and matte. Achievement unlocked in that regard). - Texture / Detail: 3 Stars (My personal preference is for a little less texture here. More on that below). Usability: 3 Stars (Perhaps not the best choice for everyday printing). Value: 4 Stars Pro tip: Images with lots of extreme contrast (high percentages of black and white areas) seem to do well. Pure white areas do not exhibit the satin sheen and thus provide a nice contrast to the shinny areas. Pure black areas have a beautiful richness. Details & Texture: I am a big fan of Hahnemuhle's Rag lineup of which this is a part. Hahnemuhle's Rag Ultra Smooth has no texture, prints beautifully, and shows incredible detail. The Photo Rag Duo has a very subtle and amazing texture, also prints beautifully, and has superb detail. Hahnemuhle's standard Photo Rag has a noticeable texture, prints beautifully, but the texture begins to interfere with the amount of detail you can perceive in the print. I also find the texture to be just a bit distracting to my eye. Of course this is personal preference. Photo Rag Satin exhibits the same amount and type of texture as the regular Photo Rag paper and so for me it has the same shortcomings. If it had the texture of say Photo Rag Duo I would give it 5 stars. Perhaps you enjoy more texture than me and thus this paper is perfect.
