The kit is designed to use paper and ribbon at the same rate. However, there is extra receiver on both the front and end of the roll. When the receiver is first loaded, the outer wrap of the roll is ejected as blank prints to ensure that no fingerprint oil contaminates the printed photos. No donor ribbon is used during that phase. The receiver roll will print 6x8" 375 Prints after the initial startup waste.
