Shopper : do I need to use a PictBridge to transfer photos to my PC?RICHARD B : I have over 40,000 photos on my PC but I'm not as tech savvy as you would think. My understanding of a PictBridge is it connects a digital still camera directly to a Printer without use of a PC. What I use to get my photos from the camera to my PC is a USB Card Reader, or Flash Card Reader. It is approx. 3" x 1 3/8" with a USB insert at one end and a slot for your camera's memory card at the other end. Remove memory card from camera, insert in the correct end of the Card Reader and plug the USB end into a USB port on the front of the computer. To the PC this adds a storage drive, just like your hard drive, and you can drag and drop all the photos, or one, or a few, using either "copy" or "move" into whatever folder on the PC you use for photo storage. The Card Reader should not be more than $10 and I always buy two (2) when I need one - I keep one at home by the PC and keep one in my camera bag so I can see my photos in full size on a PC screen wherever I end up being - as in away from home. You can reverse the process if you have some special photos on your PC and want to place them in your camera's storage. Here's a good Card Reader: <a href="http://www.adorama.com/ACGCRSDHC.html" target="_blank">http://www.adorama.com/ACGCRSDHC.html</a> Hope this helps. PS - I am the computer shopper in our family and I purchased this camera for my daughter. I've come close to getting one for myself because I hate the teeny tiny cameras being made today and this one does a good job and feels so good in my hands.ANDREW R : PictBridge is normally used by printers to print direct from the camera. You shouldn't "need" PictBridge to transfer photos to your computer.
Shopper : Where can I purchase USB Cable for Kodek PIX Pro AZ251 ?RICHARD B : When I bought my first digital camera back in the 90s it was made clear that if you cabled your camera to a PC to transfer photos the process would use the power from the camera's batteries to make the transfer. So I have never used a USB cable for any camera since then. Go to the #1 Auction Website (I'm not supposed to refer to other "stores" but you know the one) and search on "memory card reader." You can get these for as little as 99 cents and no mailing cost. The come in various configurations and you simply remove the memory card from your camera and put it in the slot (or the correct slot) of the memory card reader and plug it into the USB port on your PC. Then do a drag and drop to any empty folder you have created (mine is called Photo Transfer Folder) using the MOVE option. If you want copies of photos still left on the memory card (as a backup) then use the COPY option. This has always worked perfectly for me.
LISA R : Does this Kodak camera use a charging dock like my old Kodak z740?
