Questions & Answers

Michael M : I put my sd card from my camera into a friend's scanner and scanned photos. When I put the card back into camera, the images weren't there. Why?Ej C : If you used the Kodak Easy Share software that comes with the scanner, the transfer process may be set to erase the memory card after the photos are transferred to the folder on the computer. You can change this setting so that Easy Share leaves copies on the card after copying to the computer.APRIL V : Did you try putting the card into a computer to view the scanned photos? A camera might not have the same filing system to be able to access the files saved on the card by the scanner.LYNN K : Perhaps the camera or scanner is set todelete photos when the are downloaded or copied. I would check that first. I have not had this problem myself.KEVIN F : I have never tried to view scanned photos on a camera. Have you tried a photo frame or your computer?CHRISTINE A : Most likely the friends scanner is set to delete pictures after they are scanned into the scanner and presumably saved.PETE V : Unable to answer your question as I did not use this scanner.CHRISTOPHER E : While I can't be certain about what has happened in this situation, it's entirely possible that the scanner saved the images using a folder structure that is unfamiliar to the camera. I would recommending accessing the SD card from a laptop or desktop computer—many laptops have readers built in and many newer printers allow you to plug in SD cards and access their contents on your desktop. This would allow you the best opportunity to browse the files and folders stored on the card. Best of luck!
Greg T : Can I add a USB external harddrive to save photos?JEFF G : I don't have the answer to your question, but you will use up the batteries before you fill a data card.BENJAMIN S : I have only tried with a powered hardrive. Don't know if it can power a portable, usb-powered drive. Also, I kept the format to FAT32. Don't know if NTFS would work.PETE V : Greg, I am unable to answer your question. I returned the unit to Adorama because I was unable to use it. PeteJAN M : Well Greg, I have a Mac and saving the photos is as simple as drag and drop. I would imagine that a PC would operate the same. The Kodak is a great little scanner, isn't it?OSCAR E : It does not have a USB port. I save photos in the SD Memory Card.
Kris M : does this take 2.5 x 2." negatives?Glen H : Unfortunately no, this scanner works with prints up to 8"x10" and 35mm negatives.

great product

I use this product for photos and documents it works great but when I put batteries in it the unit it over heated and stoped working. I have not had any problems with it pluged in. I have connected direct to my laptop via usb cable to scan direct. I have not tried scanning direct to my external harddrive yet.
