Questions & Answers

TOWNSEND J : will this film work with d-76 developer?MARC M : Yes it does. Take a look at the Ilford fact sheet, page 3. I cannot post a link here, but if you go to ilfordphoto dot com, look a the film link, then the delta 100, then the "fact sheet" you'll find the technical PDF. The also have a "film processing sheet" from the same place that lists all their films and all the common developers. A stock mix of d-76 at 68F should be 9 minutes.COLLEEN G : Yes, we do all the time and the results are very nice.MARTIN L : Yes. It is one of my favorite developers with that film.JEFFRY B : I haven't used this film a lot but it is great. I use a hd developer, pmk and catacol, but I used to use D-76 1:1 as the acutance and grain structure is better than straight.COLLEEN G : Hi,yes this film reacts well to D-76 developer I get excellent results from it.Experiment and have fun.RAYMOND M : Yes it will. Works with D76 1:1 as well. This film is very sensitive to time and temp.XIAOJIA P : YesSTEPHEN H : Yes.Their technical sheets tell you proper dilutions and development times.
GINO D : what rating can i use for400 speed ilford sheet film?JAMES H : Unfamiliar with this film, but I suppose the name 400 indicates film speed. Ask Ilford.JOHN M : Ilford has excellent tech docs for their film. I would encourage you to review it. It's not going to have the same play as HP5, but also far less grain. It basically can be developed from 50 to 200 ISO.JOHN J : Ilford says that delta400 can be used between ISO 200 and 3200 with good results. More info can be found in the product fact sheets on the Ilford website... Adorama won't let me post the link, but it's on www dot ilfordphoto dot com. Hope that helps!CHARLES H KOEPKE J : If your shutter is fairly accurate 320 ASA has always worked well for me with reccomended development times.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?PATRICK B : consistent results for low light conditionsROBERT G : Excellent film for beginners who want a standard film. Haven’t ventured beyond this film yet because it gives me what I need for now.JEROME M : Excellent 100 speed filmDennis S : I have a 4x5 pinhole camera and my first images were captured with this film. They were amazingly sharp for pinhole and the contrast and fine grain of this film is fantastic.JONATHAN L : I’ve been using this film for a relatively short time, and like it better than any other so far.ROBERT K : Outstanding sharpness and detail.TATSUO T : good filmJONATHAN L : excellent fine grainMICHAEL M : I use this film, mostly.DAVID DE G : Delta 100 has a good response to various developing techniques and timings, and is particularly good for zone system work.PHILLIP R : Adorama is a reliable supplier that I have used several times, and the products delivered are always new and completely satisfactory.GREGORY L : In experimenting with different B&W brands, the photos I've taken with this are my favorites.ANGEL M : A good friend who is a profesional photographer recommended this film to me to enjoy my "new" large format plaubel peco camera with extraordinary results!!!

Great alternative to TMax100

I?m a huge fan of TMax 100 for its fine grain and even tone curve. Ilford Delta 100 also has a very fine grain but so far my results have more contrast than I am used to. I am working on my developing recipes to include lower dilutions and more time in order to give me flatter negatives like I am used to and prefer. Once I get that sorted I can see Delta 100 replacing my fine grain film needs, mainly due to the more economical price of the film and similar results. My main film is Ilford FP4. Although I am liking Delta 100, in 4x5 nothing beats FP4 IMO.

Excellent in every way.

This film is what I use for my pinhole photography. I find this film to be forgiving with exposure, extremely fine grained, and has excellent contrast. This image is an interior shot of an old plantation barn and was a 19 minute exposure. I can?t recommend this film enough for black and white photography.

Still One of the Best Buys in B&W Photo

Ilford always had a great reputation back when I used to work at a camera store in the midwest. Decided to pick more up and it is still all that. Best bang for the buck, can't beat the price for quality ratio, and easy developing too.

Great overall black & white film!

I bought this film because it is what I used to shoot in high school and it still is as great as I remember. It's been years since I've shot film so there was definitely a learning curve getting used to how this film handles in all different lighting situations, but overall I've been very happy with the contrast and clarity of most of my images.

My favourite T-grain film

Great B&W film and the fact that it comes in a 100-sheet box is fantastic: to keep both shipping and film cost down.

The new standard for B&W photography

Ilford is the new standard for B&W photography. Kodak has seen better days and as of to day, 07/13/2020 it is rumored that Kodak films may be sold to China. Ilford B&W film has a more dramatic effect that Kodak or Fujifilm.

Great for intermediate photographers

Works great! Although this has been my first time using a 100 speed film, so it is a bit hard to get used to taking night pictures again. Other than that, the pictures are quite clear and I haven't run into any real problems yet.

Fantastic Quality and Adorama makes it affordable

I am a student and was warned of the use of inferior film, (especially for the novice trying to get the most of their tuition fees). This film allowed me to have two exceptional entries in our college art show!

Worth It

I like this film. I bought this locally, because I live in Arizona, and having film shipped in 110 degree heat where it sits in my mailbox outside doesn't make sense. Anyway, this film has always come out well with great contrast, never had issues self developing with Ilford Ilfosol 3. The film material itself is sturdy and easy to roll on the spool. I bought a bunch of Kentmere 100 36-exp and it's decent film, but trying to load it on the spool was difficult, as the film is very thin plastic. I doubt I'll be buying Kentmere anymore, I prefer the image quality and physical attributes of Ilford, you get what you pay for.

Just a great sheet film

Grain and contrast are exactly as I expected and I've really enjoyed shooting this film. This particular box was used in some street photography and it really turned out well.

Simply great.

Nothing to complain about. I've tried many brands and film types. I always come back to this (or the Delta 400 if I need more speed). I shoot it at ISO 80 when I can and the results are consistent and great.

This is the low ISO film I started with when I first started BW photography. Lovely grain, easy to develop.

The best slow speed film!

By BERNARD F.

I'm an 8x10 portraiture photographer. I'm also a street photographer.I love this film because it has never let me down.I get compliments from my work because of this film. I develop it in DDX or beutlers developer. My process of developing is a Jobo CPP2 processor utilizing Jobo expert drums. I get perfect negatives every time. Ilford DDX developer does make a difference. I get deeper blacks, and exelent tonal range. Tray processing works too, but you risk scratching your negatives, and breat...
