Debated between this and x100vi. Feels and looks like a x100v that I had and sold because of the fixed lens. Mind you that I still have my xt5. I keep both because I need one for shooting with my bigger prime and zoom lens and another for compactness and use for travel. Cant chose one because different purposes. Camera image is exactly the same.

I'll keep it simple. This is a reasonable alternative to the x100VI for those who need inter-changeable lens options. The added film simulation dial is an interesting addition. Other considerations: A tilt LCD screen like the x100VI, excellent video features (6.2K recording and F-Log/F-Log2), improved AF, and five-axis in-body image stabilization. There are trade offs: no weather sealing, no dedicated video controls, and a meh EVF. And of course, it's not cheap. Recommended for anyone who requires more lens options than the X100 models and is willing to trade off a few of the X100VI features for lens interchangeability.

What a beauty of a camera! Haven't had the chance to test it much but happy with a visit to the botanic gardens.

I simply love this camera. I'm still getting to grips with some of the details that are different from the dials operation of my X-T5, but I've taken it out a couple of times now and it hasn't disappointed. It's everything I expected, the look and feel of the X100VI with the versatility of being able to change lenses. I don't miss the niceties you get with the X100VI, like the hybrid viewfinder, the built-in ND filters, or the leaf shutter. I don't even mind that it's not weather sealed, after all the X100VI isn't exactly weather sealed (you have to put a filter on the lens to make it fully weather sealed), and if I have to go out shooting in bad weather, I have my X-T5 or even my X-H2S. The included strap is fantastic; excellent length, comfortable, and very good quality. I'm still waiting for an L-bracket; it's something you're willing to pay for a little handling comfort. Overall, it has quickly become my favorite camera.

The X-E5 is a pretty nice street camera. I was hoping for a bit smaller and lighter, but it feels good in your hand and takes great photos. My pet peeve is the large and worthless exposure compensation dial. Hey Fuji, let us reassign it to something else. An ISO wheel would be perfect. If you want to make the experience like a Leica, you have to make all three components of the exposure triangle easy and accessible.

Enjoy a classic image making experience with FUJIFILM X-E5 digital camera. Offering an analog-inspired, rangefinder style body similar to the iconic X100VI, plus the flexibility of interchangeable lenses, X-E5 is the ultimate every day carry for stills-focused creatives.
With its machined aluminum top-plate delivering premium build quality and durability, this compact and high portable addition to the X Series features the latest 40.2-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR imaging sensor with digital teleconverter, up to seven stops of in-body image stabilization, and a customizable Film Simulation dial so you can create, save and instantly recall your own unique recipes. Add in a fully featured electronic viewfinder to compose your way, AI-powered subject detection autofocus, and an all-new XF23mmF2.8 R WR available with the body as a kit and you have all you need to produce outstanding images wherever your photographic journey may take you.
Inspired by the iconic design of the X100VI, the X-E5 brings the timeless appeal of analog photography into the digital age but with one major advantage: interchangeable lenses.
The X-E5 gives you full access to Fujifilm’s extensive X Mount ecosystem, featuring over 40 high-quality lenses. From ultra-wide angles to telephoto zooms, this flexibility lets you tailor the camera to suit every scene, mood, and moment.

Classic doesn’t mean outdated. The X-E5’s offset electronic viewfinder and machined aluminum top-plate deliver a design language that nods to vintage rangefinder cameras, while embracing modern sensibilities.
The build quality is precise and durable, looking and feeling like a precision tool crafted for photographers. With tactile analog dials and a form factor that slips easily into a jacket pocket or small bag, this camera invites a slower and more intentional style of shooting that reconnects you with the joy of photography.

Fujifilm has long been known for its rich Film Simulations — digital renderings of the company’s most beloved film stocks. But the X-E5 takes it further with an all-new customizable Film Simulation dial, a first for the X Series. The top-plate dial includes a clear display window and three user-programmable slots so you can store and access your own custom looks on the fly.
Low-light scenes, long exposures, or on-the-move street shots? You’re covered. This new Fujifilm mirrorless camera features in-body image stabilization (IBIS) that delivers up to seven stops of shake reduction at the center of the frame and six stops toward the edges.
The system includes an upgraded gyro sensor and refined stabilization algorithm, giving you rock-solid results even when conditions are less than ideal.
The X-E5 includes a two-step digital teleconverter function, which allows you to punch in at 1.4x or 2x while maintaining excellent image quality. It’s perfect for quick framing adjustments or moments when changing lenses just isn’t practical.

Never miss the moment. The X-E5 uses deep learning-based AI autofocus to intelligently detect and track a wide range of subjects — including people, animals, vehicles, and more. It continuously identifies faces and eyes, locks on quickly, and stays focused even when your subject moves unpredictably.
The X-E5’s high-resolution EVF does more than just show you your frame, it offers an immersive and highly customizable viewing experience. Choose from three Surround View options (black, semi-transparent, or outline) to better visualize what’s just outside the frame, helping you anticipate motion and compose more intuitively. Prefer a more minimalist, analog-style view? Switch to Simple View, which mimics the look of an old-school optical viewfinder.
Inside the X-E5 is the heart of a powerhouse: Fujifilm’s latest 40.2-megapixel X-Trans 5 HR sensor, paired with the high-performance X-Processor 5. This combination gives you exceptional detail, low-noise performance, and impressive dynamic range — ideal for everything from professional-grade prints to tight crops in post-production.
It also enables a lower base ISO of 125, offering cleaner images straight out of camera in bright environments.

Thanks to its detailed electronic viewfinder, FUJIFILM X-E5 lets you see every detail when viewing images. As well as providing an accurate preview of the scene, it also provides some additional functions that deliver an experience similar to an optical viewfinder. These include three Surround View modes which allow the selection of a black, semi-transparent or line outline showing the image's aspect ratio and what is outside of it to better anticipate subjects moving into frame, plus a Simple View option, which emulates the viewfinder from an analog film SLR.
Despite its premium construction and advanced features, the Fujifilm X-E5 remains lightweight and ultra-portable. It’s designed to go wherever your creativity takes you — without weighing you down.
One of the small but delightful touches: the Bluetooth pairing button is styled like a film rewind knob. It’s a nod to the tactile mechanics of vintage cameras, and a reminder that Fujifilm’s design team cares about experience as much as functionality.
