A quality entry level tripod

I purchased this as a backup for clients with entry level DSLRs and kit lenses on my phototours in Alaska. It will work fine for most people as long as you dont try to put like a D3 with a 2.8 telephoto lenses on it. build quality seems nice as long as you dont overload it. I would keep it under 6 lb.s. It is very light and would be easy to stash in your luggage.

great travel tripod

-Beautiful packaging -Great looking tripod bag -Supports my 50D and 17-50mm 2.8/f lens with not much effort tightening the ballhead -Lightweight but with but stable enough to take shots by the beach on 10mph wind. Didn't have to use the weight hook

head broke after a few uses

the good: it is one of very few tripods that fold small, are lightweight, are able to carry a decent load, and don't cost a fortune. I have used it with a 5D + battery grip + 70-200 2.8 IS. it's by no means hurricane proof but it will hold a heavy camera/lens reasonably steady if there is not too much wind. it also comes with a nice carrying case. the bad: after less than year of light use, mine broke. the thread of the screw nut used to tighten the head is worn out, and it's no longer possible to tighten it. this is a design flaw - the screw is too short, and the contact area between screw and nut way too small. (note: I am reviewing the AB0, which judging from the specs and images is the same product apart from the name)
