I really like the A900 -compact-wear on my belt and love the long distance shooting. Really like the flip on the back of the camera. Hope it lasts many years. Thanks Cecil

Best travel camera I ever owned. Have taken the camera to China, Europe and the States. Such high resolution for a small camera. Great battery life, fits perfect in my pockets, very easy to use photo and video.

I have been very pleased with the photos on automatic and preset modes. I'm still learning the manual modes but I look forward to taking more artistic pictures like I used to with my old SLR. I love taking pictures of animals, birds. landscapes and macro mode. the changing colors on the trees will be a great opportunity to get some colorful shots.

With all that the camera is capable of doing, it is easy to get some very good pictures. I haven't even begun to discover everything yet or use the camera in the manual modes other than play around with them. The preset modes are great and I do use them instead of the auto mode for taking anything other than a rush shot for a subject that I may miss if I took time to set the mode to a preset. I am still learning and I think the camera is the best one out there to fit my needs. I do mostly outdoor scene, animal, birds and now bugs.

Purchased my first Nikon (A900) August 2019 and just returned from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The photos taken there were amazing. When we saw a herd of animals far away I used the telephoto at it’s max to ensure it was bison and not cattle. These shots of the bison came out OK handheld! It will take me a while to learn all the bells and whistles but it sure is fun traveling with this camera! So far so good!

My first digital Nikon Coolpix camera was purchased in 1997 and it still works. I wanted to update so I now have the Coolpix A900 and haven't been disappointed. Another great camera from Nikon that takes unbelievable photos and very easy to operate. Someday I hope to own the Coolpix P1000.

After purchasing this refurbished camera from Cameta Camera on 5/17/18, I have come to appreciate all of the great features it has to offer, such as, panorama, the zoom, the fold-out screen, and the compact size of the camera. Also, I especially enjoy the Wi-Fi feature on the camera- it connects with the app SnapBridge on my cell phone and all my pictures are there. This makes it much easier to send pictures. I took it on my National Park trip and shot about 520 pictures. I would greatly recommend this camera.

I have owned and gifted several Coolpix now for over 10 years and the 900 is by far the best. It focuses great and takes great pictures. If you want the best you better get the 900.

Hello. I have had the A900 for almost two years now. I find it feature-rich and fairly easy to carry around easily... although I have had thinner and lighter point and shoots. The 20.1MP CMOS sensor is quite high in megapixels for a small P&S. The construction of the camera is quite good, and the controls are easy to remember and access. It has some neat in-camera settings that give you much creative leeway. The rotating screen is a nice feature, too. The images generated by the cam are very good when it comes to color rendition and clarity, even at higher magnifications. It's also nice to have 35 power and 4K movie functionality. I am very satisfied with this model, and would recommend it highly to my fellow photographers.

So far, great. I’m having a little bit of a problem transferring pictures to my phone. I think with a little bit more practice I’ll have down. Everything else is good. I love the ability to change the viewing angle of the monitor.

Takes decent pictures in open effect conditions but bought it for taking pictures of wildlife in wooded areas. The auto focus is horrible. Will not focus on an animal when zoomed out almost 100% of the time. Also low light conditions it struggles to take decent pictures. If it had manual focous it would have been perfect.

Write your review here. It must be at least 10 characters long. Consider A very high end POINT & SHOOT camera by NIKON should have a auto flash and not one that requires the user to manually turn the flash on! you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Compact and with a full range of options. The zoom is good, so long as I use my tripod. Image quality at 20MP is a little disappointing. Very good image quality at 10MP and "FINE". I don't know if others have had that experience. Maybe because of crosstalk on the 1/2.3" sensor? I replaced an old P7100 with this. It had 10MP on a physically larger sensor (1/1.7" CCD). It was comparable in image quality to the A900 with the latter set at 10MP. It was better than an A900 with resolution on the A900 set at 20MP. P7100 was also better at low light or very bright light. Since the P7100 is broken, I have kept the A900. Next stop will be a DSLR.

I like the portability and zoom capability. The camera is easy to operate, and has worked well so far. The only limiting factor so far has been the quality of maximum-zoom images, either due to operator or lens limitations.

I recently bought a refurbished A900 because my previous experience with a refurbished Nikon was very positive. The exterior of the camera is in almost new condition and the camera functions perfectly. The image quality is great for a camera which will fit comfortably in a jacket pocket with a camera only case. You will need something to rest the camera on to take advantage of the maximum zoom. A monopod with swivel head definitely helps. The manual is available as a download and I recommend it because it tells you what version of SnapBridge works with the camera. It requires version 2.0 which is not a available for all devices. The only reason I don't give the camera a 5 is that with all of its bells and whistles it should be handled with some care. Finally I do suggest the optional extended warranty. 90 days is a very short time.

I like this camera, small enough to fit in shirt pocket but with enough power to capture really nice snap shots. I wanted a camera to carry all the time to replace my cell phone camera and this one does the trick. The bundle is quite nice and that part gets a five. I could to give the camera a five rating only bc it is hard to steady at long zooms other than that I really like shooting with and not having to carry by big camera with me and it shoots much better than my phone.

I really wanted to like this camera but its flaws and less than spectacular performance prevented that. I was looking for a lightweight substitute for my Nikon D7000 with a 18-300 mm lens. The A900 has an admirable zoom range in awell fitted fit in your pocket package. Great so far. I knew I was giving up a viewfinder but didn't know how much I would miss it. Holding a camera away from your body at high zoom results in camera shake that the VR system can't overcome. The camera doesn't auto focus properly and many shots are ruined. Low light performance is miserable. You can't directly input ISO speed. The real deal breaker is you can't shoot RAW. I'm going to give it another week but am pretty sure I want to return it

I am impressed so far with the great photos that I am getting. The videos are quite good also. I'm used to Nikon products, so I can navigate easily most of it's features. It's newest feature SnapBridge need a lot of work plain and simple. I have not been able to pair it with my iPhone or tablet after days of trying. If you can't pair, the app is useless!

I have gotten some great pictures and videos so far, but the new features SnapBridge will not pair with my iPhone or iPad. Why develop something and come out with it, when it doesn't work?

I've been using the A900 for a month now and the only negative items are the following: 1. Snapbridge connectivity (NFC/ wifi/ Bluetooth) doesn't work at all for any of my iOS devices (iPhone/ IPad & iPad Pro) - I managed to test the connectivity with a co-worker's android phone and that seemed to work great. I'm hoping that this is something that can be fixed with either an upcoming firmware update or the iOS app gets a full-redo in order for the iOS users to use this advertised feature. 2. The digital zoom is somewhat useless IMO and I would suggest just turning that off. Now that we got the bad news out of the way...Let's deal with the good stuff. I've gotten some decent results shooting on the Auto and the scene settings, but the power of this little device reveals itself when you start shoot in manual modes [M, A, S, P and controlling the ISO] being able to control those setting manually on such a small device has been a joy - pair that with the 20MP sensor, the tilt screen and this little device gives my Nikon D3300 series DSLR some serious competition. If this thing shot in RAW (NEF) mode it would be great for some additional post processing editing. *Sample images below taken with A900 using Shutter priority for long exposure or Manual settings.

I have been using my A900 for two months and am delighted with the results. This is a great camera to take on trips into the back country. It is small, compact and light but has most of the features of a much heavier DSLR camera. The dial on top makes it easy to shoot in a variety of modes ranging from manual to fully automatic.Pictures are exceptionally sharp and colours are true. Far off objects can be brought in very close using the 35X sense. Macro shots are a breeze with just one touch of the dial. Too much or too little light is not a problem and you rarely need a tripod. I highly recommend this camera for anyone who likes to travel light. Be sure to carry a spare, fully charged backup battery. Note: To take the picture of the moon I stood in my back yard and hand held the camera.

Maybe this camera will be great. Not impressed so far. Will need to download the full manual and see if I can figure it out. Has several features I will never use. Not intuitive so far.

The Nikon COOLPIX A900: Pocket-friendly Travel Companion
Made for the user with small pockets but the biggest luggage, the A900 is the perfect small camera for the user on the go. With 35x optical zoom and 70x Dynamic Fine Zoom, the camera ensures that the user is always poised to capture the perfect shot, whether watching the sun set on a beach, or soaking in a street carnival. For those looking to capture the tiniest details on their travels, the A900 also achieves sharp focus even in macro mode at a distance of approximately 1 cm. With the camera's 20.3 effective megapixels delivered with a backside-illumination CMOS sensor and high-performance NIKKOR lens, all these adventures can be captured with rich and remarkable detail, even in low light.
Shooting on the move can be tricky, be it from the back of a camel or on a tour bus. Hence the A900 is equipped with a high-performance VR that works effectively to reduce camera shake even when using the camera's 35x optical zoom. For still images, the lens-shift Vibration Reduction (VR) and electronic VR work in tandem to create beautiful, sharp images, providing an effect equivalent to a shutter speed 4.0 stops*4 faster which would come in handy when photographing activities involving children, sports or pets. Snap-back zoom also aids functionality during telephoto shooting by switching to wide-angle with the press of a button, allowing subjects that have been lost to be re-captured in focus instantly. Releasing the button allows the user to revert the zoom back to its original position.
Great photos become a breeze with a suite of functions to aid image capture. For greater convenience and ease-of-use, the A900's design incorporates Mode and Command dials. The former allows mode selections of Programmed auto, Shutter-priority auto, Aperture-priority auto and Manual while holding the camera in shooting position, while the latter enables options such as exposure control, scene mode changes, and AF area selection during shooting.
For situations that call for video creation, the A900 excels with 4K UHD video recording with stereo sound. High-definition movies with resolutions up to 2160/30p are available, along with the ability to take high-quality still images during playback. A brand new "Superlapse" function has also been introduced in addition to time-lapse capability for unique movie expressions that blend changing landscapes and unique perspectives for sharing. Useful for vloggers and those who prefer to shoot without a tripod, the camera's 4-axis Hybrid VR helps to effectively reduce the effects of camera shake during video creation.
Image creation is made fun and simple with a suite of intuitive tools to use during and after shooting. A new Creative mode allows the selection of various presets to create a personalized feel that matches the user's preferences, enabling up to 36 unique options. For dramatic images of light trails, the A900 also comes with the Multiple Exposure Lighten, a nifty new feature that composites multiple images taken with interval-timer for beautiful images of light trails and fireworks. Glamour Mode has also been incorporated into Smart Portrait Mode, with an even wider selection of intelligent options such as "Blink proof" and "Smile timer" to help subjects look their best.
In an era with ubiquitous mobile connectivity, the new application of SnapBridge, with seamless Bluetooth connection, allows images to be automatically synced to a smart device for convenient browsing and uploading. Wireless remote shooting for difficult-to-achieve shots is also possible with SnapBridge, along with the easy embedding of photo credit information and a suite of other connected features
