Received product on time. Loving the Nikon d780. Picture quality is outstanding. Very little or no color editing needed. Lens is a great Kit lens. The new control locations are fantastic. Battery life is superb. So far I've shot up to 400 photos and battery lost one bar.

The Nikon D780 exceeded my expectations!!! Picture quality is unbelievable. So far I have found I do not have to do any color adjustments to my photos. Battery life is exceptional. Weight is a little heavy, but bearable. Setting controls are right at your fingertips, ISO, aperture, shutter speed and back button focus. So far I'm loving the D780 for its build quality and finish output of photos!!! I would recommend the product.

I have used the best digital SLR, the picture quality is beautiful, the skin color is very beautiful and close to Canon, but I hope Nikon can make the live view function of D780 better and more perfect through firmware. The focus of D780 still has many shortcomings, but I just don't understand Why can Z6 with the same motherboard and cpu make live view like Z6II through firmware upgrade, but D780 can't?

I love my D780. I am still getting familiar with it but it's a wonderful professional camera. I originally got the D850 but it was too heavy for me and I felt like it wasn't what I needed necessarily at this point in my photography journey. Honestly if you compare the D780 and the D850 they both shine in their own ways. If you are on the fence, highly recommend to compare the specs to see what suits you best. So glad I purchased with Adorama!

I was looking last year to finally go mirrorless. I was using a D7500 which I love; but wanted to upgrade to a full frame. I tried a D850, but it didn't suit me. I researched a lot and decided to get the D780. I shoot mainly wildlife, like birds in flight. This body works great in low light. I pair it with the Nikon 500mm f5.6E PF ED VR, and the 1.4tc. This puts me at f8 which is the sweet spot for this set up. Great auto focus and sharpness. I think I'll stay with the DSLR, until Nikon works out the auto focus issues on the mid range mirrorless models. For $2,100 you can't go wrong.

Amazing camera! I used a D610 previously and this had much improved auto focus, great low light shooting and ergonomics are improved. I trust this camera in more situations and feel it has incredible image quality. Also the video features are just what I needed to increase production quality for video shoots. Definitely worth the purchase!

Great camera. Decent upgrade from my D610. I am disappointed that Nikon made this camera so it really can't accept a decent grip. There's one from China out there but it doesn't have controls. The shipping of the camera wasn't very good either, everything was very loose in a large box.

I have been using Nikon cameras and lenses since I bought my first F2. The D780 is the finest camera I have ever owned. The ease of use and the features are fantastic! My wife and I are Nikon purist's, there are none better!

Like other reviewers here, I moved up to the D780 from a DX (D5500) format. After a year of using and learning, it has been a huge leap in photo quality and features. On a just completed vacation, the landscape photography was super crisp. The added white balance settings gave more flexibility for getting the color right; I also worked with temperature settings with excellent results. My choice of the D780 over the mirrorless models was made on the investments I've made in F-mount lens.

I love my D780! It literally does everything well, including 4k video. It definitely breathed new life into my older Nikon D lenses as well. I use it in tandem with my Nikon z6ii and the files are very similar to edit.

I bought this camera to be a back up for my D750 but now after owning it for awhile, I am not sure which will back up which. This is an excellent camera and I have no issues with it whatsoever. It has awesome video and live view capabilities. I love the lens fine tuning and has found that the settings set by the 780 also work on the 750.

It is everything I thought it would be! I just changed over from my D5600 of 5 years (still have and use), to the D780. I still have a bit of work to do with learning all the functions and capabilities, but I'm looking forward to taking that journey. It is an excellent hybrid DSLR that allows me to take advantage of some of the capabilities of a mirror less camera without changing platforms and lens base. Thanks Nikon, I'm throughly impressed.

I currently own a D850 and wanted a second camera to backup the workhorse. Choosing the D780 based on other reviews and reputation alone was a bit of a stretch for me since I never actually seen one, or held one in my hands. This is such a great little responsive machine! It fits well in your hand and is lighter than many other DSLRs. The first thing I noticed looking through the view finder was the speed and accuracy of the autofocus. The feel of it when you fire the shutter is smooth and confident. Every shot I have taken has been sharp. The color rendition has been fascinating, if perhaps a little warm, but something you can easily live with and adjust if needed. Highly recommended.

Amazing images produced, especially with older AI-S lenses, which are fully supported by this full-frame DSLR. I would give it 5 stars were it not for the iffy wifi/bluetooth connectivity. It appears not to coexist with other devices as well as I believe it should. If I am using it incorrectly, I apologize. But that is doubtful.

Love this camera, best of both worlds: mirrorless and DSLR. I have gotten used to expose with the LCD live view and then shoot with the OVF. Great for video also. I also have a z6 ii and i find the colors on this DSLR to be better, because they look less digital.

Upgraded from my D3500 to the Nikon D780 and so far loving it! Definitely a bit of an adjustment getting used to the new control set up and the heavier weight, but shouldn't be a problem after some more practice. I was happy with the photo quality after my first time out, and the 24-120mm lens that came with the camera will be a good walk-around or travel lens. Thank you Adorama for the easy ordering and delivery process! I will be ordering some accessories for my new camera. :)

I use two of these bodies and they are great. The only thing they are not suited well for is shooting sports/action IMO. Do ok but there is better AF and faster bodies, but you will pay more.

After a significant amount of homework and comparison shopping for a full-frame upgrade, I decided this would be worth the cost. Two months in and I am more than impressed. Love that it provides the feel, speed and capability of a high-performance DSLR with OVF (with the quietest mechanical shutter I've ever heard) and gives you the option of using the excellently accurate (and silent electronic shutter) Live View with its Z-series phase detect focus system. The low-light capability of this camera to capture clear sharp images at high ISO is unbelievable and makes more photographic opportunities possible.

Great event camera
By TomL
I purchased the D780 for shooting events. It's great for low light indoor photography producing sharp, high quality, low noise images with ISO from 1200 - 3200. I use it with both on and off camera flash. The skin tones look great right out of the camera. The D780 out-performs my D810 under low light conditions. The camera is slimmer, slightly smaller and lighter than my D810. It felt great in my hand for a full day of shooting. I chose the D780 over the Z6 for its dual card slots, optical vi...

A huge step up from my aging D200.
By MICHAEL S.
I have been using a Nikon D200 for the past fourteen years, and I had debated whether to replace it with a mirrorless camera of a new DSLR. I decided to go with the D780, largely because of the optical viewfinder. For my purposes, the extra weight of a DSLR is not a factor, and I prefer the heft and balance of the DSLR. So far I have been thrilled with the performance of the D780. The improvement over the D200 is extraordinary (especially its low-light capabilities, the speed, the resolution,...
