I love this camera, it is small, stealthy, quick, loaded with features and gives great quality images. I usually prefer to use my om-d e-m1, but the e-p5 actually gives me almost identical quality images in a smaller easy to use package. The good: great image quality, 2x2 image controls, fast 1/8000 shutter speed, solid construction, metal dials and controls, fast autofocus, everything completely customizable thru Olympus menus. The not so good: Olympus menus are complex and not user friendly, the flash feels a little flimsy (although I have not had as many problems with it popping up when not wanted as many have reported), no viewfinder (the external vf-4 is great, but detracts from size and appearance), not weatherproof (I am one who wished that flagship pen series and premium m.zuiko prime lens were weather proof also, not larger M.zuiko pro series and O-md only), and my personal gripe is that I would love to have full manual controls (i.e. aperture, shutter speed, iso, and exposure compensation available by dedicated dials like a real camera, not seemingly computer chip controlled), but I was aware of this limitation when I first went to the Olympus system, I originally wanted Fuji for the controls, and looked longingly at Olympus (I am an old film shooter, and wanted Olympus OM cameras in the 80's but could not afford them), but the size, quality and features of Olympus won me over regardless, but I would still love dedicated dials

Loved the Pen from 40 years ago and have always trusted Olympus. This is a fabulous camera with too many features so you can create just about anything you can imagine with this camera. I would have given it five stars except that I do miss the viewfinder, but I still highly recommend this camera.

After lugging around my trusty old beloved Nikon Photomic FTN and several enormous and also heavy lenses for decades, the switch to the Micro 4/3's format was a welcome breath of fresh air. The Olympus Pen series of cameras are light and compact, full of features and controls and are extremely attractive cameras with their retro-rangefinder appearance. The E-P3 was a lovely camera to use with it's OLED touchscreen, integrated flash and high speed shutter. The Olympus E-P5 seems like an evolutionary step up from the E-P3. The body which possesses the weighty heft of a well-constructed vintage camera now has two perfectly-positioned multi-function wheels that can be configured by the user, a bright higher-resolution OLED tilting touchscreen display, faster shutter and autofocus, much improved 5-axis in-body image stabilization and a new higher-resolution 16 MP sensor. And yet with all these improvements the change to the new camera was painless and intuitive. As they say "good things do come in small packages"!

I prefer working with a rangefinder-like body style which is less conspicuous than the SLR body type of the OM series. I use the camera primarily for street photography where like the leica it attracts less attention than a big camera.

I miss the viewfinder, but the price was right.

Picked up the $399 deal on the EP5 to go with my EM1, 5 and 10. This Pen is on par with my EM1 on IQ. Picked up a used view finder and now this a lot more fun to shoot. I can not wait until the new Olympus Pen comes out with built in viewfinder.

Great quality and fun to use.

Love it! High quality build and excellent photos. Menus are extensive but once you learn, they're fine. Perfect size for travel. If you don't need a viewfinder, its great. If you need a viewfinder, get the OMD-EM5II. I have both and highly recommend both.
The Olympus PEN E-P5 Digital Camera with 17mm f1.8 Lens (Black) has a 16.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor (such as the OM-D EM-5), the TruePic VI processor and a convenient touch-capacitive-adjustable (tilt) 3" and 1037k points. The machine is equipped with an image stabilization system operating on a 5-axis that makes us earn up to five stop, Olympus has an external electronic viewfinder and the shutter speed of 1/8000 seconds.
Like all cameras of the new generation has integrated Wi-Fi and the ability to record video in Full HD (1920 x 1080), in this case there is also the option of recording time-lapse movies in AVI Motion JPEG 1280 x 720 at 10fps.
Among the most interesting features is the possibility of shooting in RAW + JPEG and gusts up to 9 frames per second. The machine is equipped with a small flash, as you can see in the photo, is located in the upper left.
