Questions & Answers

Pops P : Does this have a microphone input?Sasan A : Yes, this camera has microphone inputs. It's a great camera with sharp lense.Jim O : Yes it does. Standard 3.5 mm input. No headphone input.PAUL F : Yes. With the camera facing away from you, it's on the upper left next to the "drive mode" dial. The mini-plug socket has a snap on cover labelled "MIC." There are many microphone options to choose from. The FZ1000M2's menu can be set up to display audio levels as well (check out YouTube videos on how to access the correct settings).
Shopper : Is this fz1000 2 a gray market camera?Jim O : Not from Adorama. I'm interested why you think if may not be legit.JAE THOMAS S : None of our cameras are gray market.MARGARITA G : I don't know what a gray market camera is. Since I live in Puerto Rico, I couldn't register the camera in the US site. It said to do it in the International website and had problems too. But I love the camera and it's what I wanted.MYLES M : I was able to register mine online with no issue, so I assume it was not a gray market camera.VINCENT K : No, not from this supplier
Barrett Y : Is this bridge camera considered easy to use?RANDY P : This camera can be very easy to use if you choose the auto mode (labeled iA on the mode dial on the top right of the camera). Once you get more familiar with it, this camera has a ton of controls within the menus you can change and experiment with. Unfortunately, the instructions for these controls leave a lot to be desired. You can download the advanced user manual (over 300 pages long), but even that can be lacking. Sometimes you just have to change a menu item and see what happens. Fortunately, within the menus is a reset control that will return your camera back to its factory default settings in case you really mess up in the menus. I’ve had to do this. The lens is great. The low light capabilities are good, though I don’t go higher than 3200, especially on faces. The LED screen on the back is very good and has great touch screen capabilities once you learn how to use them (really not hard). Overall, I think it’s a great camera for the price, and it can be very easy to use.STEVEN M : I've had the camera about 4 weeks. I love it. It can be as easy as you want or as advanced as you would like. IA mode is a great point and shoot type of camera but there are terrific features which are worth learning. Plenty of Upi Tube teaching videos. Only problem (and not with the camera) is the Flashpoint intevalomer (with the package which doesn't seem to be compatible in the remote shutter feature. Buy the camera.Jim O : Absolutely! Wonderful photos and easy to use. If I can do it anyone can.VINCENT K : I used it right out of the box. Very satisfied with the pictures. I have nikon experience but found the controls easy to usePAUL F : It can be quite simple, or quite technical. The FZ1000M2 offers both options. The "easy to use" option is to just set up the camera (insert charged battery, a memory card, attach strap & cap), set the mode dial to "iA" ("Intelligent Auto Plus" mode) and let the camera's computer determine the optimum exposure and shutter speed. Just point, compose, gently press the shutter to lock in focus, then fully press the shutter button to take the picture. It's pretty much goof-proof. As you grow comfortable with the camera, you can explore its other settings -- both manual and automatic -- to enjoy various creative options. Your job really is to frame/compose a memorable picture. The camera handles the technical stuff.HC P : Not very easyKristen Z : My experience is yes, with enough to fiddle with as you get more comfortable. I tend to use P or iA setting when taking pictures, but I do also mess with the aperture and other settings to see what the results are. I also take a lot of video with this so it is great to be able to do both.

Great Upgrade from my previous camera

This replaces my older Panasonic Lumix camera, and I could not be more happy! I'm having a great time learning how to use it and adjusting to the differences. It's perfect for me, and I would definitely recommend the camera.

DC-FZ1000M2 IS MY NEW FAVORITE CAMERA

I love this camera! I was replacing my beloved DC-FZ1000 that was damaged by my niece. I shopped around, purchased another 1000 used, returned that and spent the extra money on purchasing this new. Adorama's price and package that it came with was hands down the best price across the board. I also have access to someone to help me with the camera regularly, an extended 3 year warranty from Panasonic and just an overall FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. Thank you Adorama!!!

This camera has focus issues. I?ve tried everything I know to do to get a crisp image from it. Probably going to send it back.

Panasonic Perfect!!!

I purchased for a European Cruise as a lighter alternative to my other digital cameras and telephoto lenses. I could not be more happy. The camera is light and the lens zoom is just perfect. Even pictures taken through a tour bus window come out sharp when using the sports preset. This was the best camera purchase I have made in a few years.

Very nice upgrade!

I had the original Lumix FZ1000 and really liked it. I stepped up to the mark ii and I think it is a very nice upgrade to an already good bridge camera. Has lots of features and an excellent zoom range. Perfect camera to grab and go. The overall kit has some really nice accessories in it. I especially like the nice battery chargers it came with. A complete kit to get you out and taking photos immediately.

Great versatile bridge camera for a decent price!

Outstanding purchase - great camera to carry on trips and the perfect complement to my Nikon D750 - it is much lighter and easy to carry around and very capable to handle just about any shooting situation. It is also reasonably easy to use.

Great camera without hauling around extra lenses

Great camera without having to haul around extra lenses. Had the FZ1000 and it was great, but decided to upgrade to the new FZ1000 II model. Adorama kit with all the accessories for the same price as the camera alone, what a deal ! ! Has a few new features that I want to try on our upcoming trips to Maine coast and Southwest National Parks. Can't wait to use it.

Excellent

Very satisfied with Adorama?s service and the included accessories were exactly what I needed - a well thought out combination. Doing baby steps with the camera using the iA mode and getting some great perfectly focused pics at 400 mm lens setting. No hesitantly shopping Adriana in the future.

Off to a good start!

I?m steadily getting more and more pleased with my results of using this camera. There?s a bit of a learning curve to using it (and I?ve previously used a DLSR for years). But there have been helpful videos online and I found a third-party manual that explains things very clearly. And I keep taking pictures all the time, getting more comfortable with what the camera can do, and ending up with some really good photos, to boot! It?s a very powerful camera, and can really do a lot, probably more than I?ll ever need, but it?s proven to be a great walkaround camera for me, allowing me to get great landscape shots, but also some very up-close wildlife shots. The fact that I got the package with the spare battery was the wisest decision ever, and that spare has come in quite handy on some of my nature hikes. I really like the range of the lens, and I think having the 1-inch sensor helps the quality of my images.

Very good bridge camera

This is a wonderful 1" sensor bridge camera with a wide zoom range, 24mm to 400mm equivalent. Useful for everything from landscape to portraits to wildlife to closeups. The focus staking feature is fun for closeup work. The size and weight are convenient, specially for all its capabilities. Image quality if very good with the 1" sensor, much better than smaller sensor cameras I'd used.

I would highly recommend this camera as a lightweight, very versatile camera for hiking and traveling.

I am very impressed with the camera. The changes from the FZ1000 (my previous camera) were exactly what I wanted, especially the focus stacking option. I was not impressed with some of the accessories included in the kit, mostly the FlashPoint timer and shutter release. I couldn't get the shutter release to work. After contacting the manufacturer I was told that the shutter release DOES NOT WORK WITH THIS CAMERA (not mentioned in the description of the product) but was included as a "freebie". Also, the camera case is for accessories only, not the camera.

AAA Novice Rated

If you're looking to upgrade, this camera is a huge step up from a phone and other small sensor cameras. I love the zoom capability and various menu settings and options all in one package. This is the first camera I've had where I feel I can capture the image quality one should expect. I am a novice at best but can still capture stunning images!

Sluggish & Overpriced

After doing what I thought was an "Upgrade" from the FZ300, then FZ1000, then this model, I'm totally confused. There is Nothing better about this camera than the previous models. 1) It's just as sluggish to start up as the other models. 2) The zoom is just as sluggish as previous models (whether you use the lens control ring or the top dial). 3) JPG picture quality is fuzzy. 4) Most pictures are over-exposed, blowing out highlights. For the amount of money this costs, you can do much better with other brands. This is going back where it came from...

Panasonic fz 1000 M2

It's a bit heavy, and the telephoto is a bit hard to hold even with the excellent stabilizer. But it beats lugging at least two lenses around. It has a 1" sensor which some reviews say is BS-CMOS but Panasonic just says MOS. Whatever, the picture quality is excellent. All in all a great compromise to a DSLR.

A big improvement

I’m very pleased with this camera. I had a Fz1000 and this is a big improvement. The touchscreen and new features like focus stacking are nice. The controls are better, no more switches that accidentally turn off image stabilization or change focus and zoom functions. I like having the an extra f stop and the autofocus is much quicker and more accurate.

I have no hesitation in recommending the Mark 2.

I traded in my Lumix FZ1000 for the Mark 2 version. I thought this camera would do better at video. I was not disappointed. There is a noticeable upgrade in the video performance over the FZ1000. Still photos are the same excellent quality. I have no hesitation in recommending the Mark 2. Dealing with Adorama was an excellent experience as always. This is not my first first purchase from them.

The first impression is to have a very tough and very light camera

This camera has all I need, it is light , it has long lens ( 400mm ) and it has amazing quality ! ( I had a D7100 he put my arm to sleep! ) It has many functions and it is possible to configure many of them! the rotating display is very convenient and the touchscreen display works very well. I left 4star because : this camera create the raw file RW2 and at moment need to convert this file and after is possible to work with software

About Panasonic FZ1000 II

FEATURED REVIEWS

A big improvement

By STEVE B.

AAA Novice Rated

By WILLIAM H.

If you're looking to upgrade, this camera is a huge step up from a phone and other small sensor cameras. I love the zoom capability and various menu settings and options all in one package. This is the first camera I've had where I feel I can capture the image quality one should expect. I am a novice at best but can still capture stunning images!

Enhance your photography experience with the LUMIX DC-FZ1000M2 20.1MP Digital Camera, a hybrid marvel that blends the power of a large 1-inch sensor with the versatility of 4K PHOTO and 4K video recording capabilities. As the latest addition to the esteemed high-zoom FZ series, this camera is equipped with a 16x optical zoom Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens (35mm camera equivalent: 25-400mm), ensuring high-resolution detail and corner-to-corner clarity in every shot.

The LUMIX FZ1000M2's lens produces stunningly beautiful defocus effects, complemented by the large-sized MOS Sensor. The minimum aperture extends to F11, providing you with a wider range of photographic possibilities. The camera's Zoom Compose Assist function is a valuable tool for telephoto shooting, helping you quickly regain your subject if it moves out of sight.

The camera's 1-inch 20.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS Sensor delivers a high signal-to-noise ratio, enabling you to capture clear, noise-minimized images even at high ISO settings. The LUMIX FZ1000M2 also introduces new Monochrome Modes, L.Monochrome and L.Monochrome D, to the Photo Style feature, allowing you to create dynamic monochrome photos with emphasized highlights and shadows while preserving intricate details.

The LUMIX FZ1000M2 is not just a camera for still photos, it's also an advanced tool for high-quality 4K video recording. Capture stunning QFHD 4K videos in 3840x2160 at 30p or 24p in MP4 format. With the 4K PHOTO feature, you can seize those fleeting moments at 30 fps and save them as 8-megapixel high-resolution photos.

The camera's Post Focus function lets you select the in-focus area even after shooting, a feature that's particularly useful in macro photography or when you want to change the focus of your subject. The newly integrated Focus Stacking function allows you to adjust the focus area after shooting by combining multiple images shot with the Post Focus function.

The LUMIX FZ1000M2 also features a high-precision, high-speed OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) Live View Finder (LVF) with 0.39-inch 2,360k-dot high resolution in 4:3 aspect. The camera's 3.0-inch 1,240k-dot free-angle rear monitor adopts touch control and rotates 180 degrees to the side and tilts 270 degrees up and down, offering approximately 100% field of view.

The camera integrates Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for a more flexible shooting experience and instant image sharing. Once connected to a smartphone or tablet installed with Panasonic's dedicated application software, you can shoot, browse, and share images remotely. The LUMIX FZ1000M2 is a powerful tool for users who demand high picture quality and professional operability.
