IRIX 150mm T3.0 Macro Cine Lens for Canon EF, Meters

It is with great pleasure that we introduce the Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 lens, a high-quality, professional-grade lens designed for full-frame sensor cinematography. This innovative lens is the first in a new line of cine lenses from Irix, renowned for their superior mechanical and optical quality.

Designed for 8K UHD readiness, this lens features a complex optical system based on the same layout used in the acclaimed Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1. The lens is composed of 12 optical elements arranged in 9 groups, including four high refractive index (HR) glass elements and three low-dispersion glass (ED) elements. This combination ensures superb high resolution, near-zero chromatic aberration, and almost no visible distortion, as low as 0.1%.

The Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 Macro lens is equipped with an internal focusing system and designed to minimize breathing. The lens boasts a new MST lens positioning system, ensuring quiet and smooth rotation of the focus ring. The Multi Start Thread mechanism, coupled with a sealed housing, guarantees durable and long-lasting operation in various atmospheric conditions, even in the most demanding situations.

The lens features a focus ring with a rotation angle increased to 270 degrees, facilitating easy and accurate focusing at any range. The lens will be available with both metric and imperial markings. The aperture mechanism in these optics has been given the highest attention, with eleven iris blades with rounded edges creating excellent bokeh and sharpness. The de-clicked aperture ranges from T3.0 to T32, with the aperture ring rotating 75 degrees.

The Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 Macro lens stands out for its unique design and well-thought-out ergonomics. The focus gear-rings are shielded by a special ring, providing a larger area for better manual handling while remaining compatible with follow-focus systems. The markings on the lens are laser engraved and treated with UV fluorescent paint, enhancing readability in low light conditions.

Built to withstand various weather conditions, the lens housing is equipped with several seals to protect against dust, rain, and accidental water splashes. The sealed construction ensures the safety of both the optical lens system and the camera sensor.

This lens also features an innovative Magnetic Mount System for accessories, allowing for quick and easy attachment of a variety of dedicated accessories. The first of these new MMS accessories is the detachable and reversible lens hood (included with the lens).

The Irix Cine 150mm T3.0 lens adheres to industry standards, ensuring compatibility with other filmmaking accessories. It has a standardized front diameter of 95mm for matte box, an 86mm front filter thread, unified distance between gear-rings, standardized 0.8 pitch module gears, unified angles of rotation, and similar weight. The lens is equipped with a removable support foot with a 1/4 thread, which stabilizes the lens when using a follow focus system and protects the camera mount. The support foot can be attached on the bottom or top of the lens for convenience of use.
