Everything came in packaged well and works fine. Amazing camera. The strap bag could be a bit bigger/better quality but it's still useful.

As someone who cherishes capturing life's moments, I sought a camera that could keep up with my adventures. Enter the Sony a6400-a sleek, lightweight companion that proved to be more than just a tool; it became a gateway to preserving memories. ?? First Impressions in the Rainforest On my first day in Costa Rica, I ventured into the vibrant rainforest. Amidst the lush greenery, the a6400's fast autofocus locked onto a toucan high in the trees. A quick press of the shutter, and the image was crisp and vivid-a testament to the camera's capabilities. ??? Versatility in the Field Throughout my journey, the a6400's adaptability shone. Swapping lenses allowed me to capture the expansive views from Arenal Volcano with a wide-angle lens. The dynamic range was impressive, rendering colors rich and true to life, even in challenging lighting conditions. ?? Evening Reflections As the day ended, I reviewed my shots from the balcony. Each photo not only showcased breathtaking scenery but also encapsulated moments of wonder-the proximity to wildlife, the sound of waves crashing, and the sunset painting the sky. The a6400 didn't just take pictures; it captured memories. ?? Final Thoughts The Sony a6400 exceeded my expectations. Its compact design, fast autofocus, and impressive image quality made it an invaluable companion on my travels. For anyone seeking a reliable camera that delivers both performance and portability, the a6400 is a choice worth considering.

I have really enjoyed using this camera so far. It has been some time since I have owned a nice camera and we decided to purchase one for some upcoming traveling to capture some nice memories. The camera itself feels like it is pretty easy to use, and for learning to use it the 16-55 kit lens has been fine, but I do agree with the sentiments of others that it leaves something to be desired. I do wish I had spent the money to get the 18-135 kit lens instead. I do have 2 lenses on the way to work with on the camera next and look forward to what i can get out of those. I also appreciate how lightweight the camera is yet it still feels solidly built. The menu system felt a bit overwhelming at first, but after watching some tutorial videos and researching what the settings do, things are starting to make sense. I feel like the out of the box settings for just taking a nice picture of the scene works pretty well, I am excited to see how some of the scenes will look with the new lens. The pictures I am attaching are the ones i took out during my first and second session using the kit lens. I will try to remember to update after i get some pictures with the new sigma lens i have coming in. These were taken as jpegs from the camera and have not been edited.

The camera arrived on time and was well packaged. The Sony a6400 is a major upgrade from my Nex 6, especially with the 18-135 mm OSS The lens. While I still use my other lenses, I find this to be a great all around combo. The focusing is fast and accurate, even on fast moving objects like low flying aircraft. I am quite pleased with this purchase.

My first Sony camera and first mirrorless - I'm a DSLR holdout, but so far I love it. I find the menu fairly easy to use. I have the 16-55mm kit lens and the results have been extremely pleased. I bought a TTArtisan 25mm manual lens too. With Sony's peaking feature I've been able to take very sharp pictures. Ive been shooting primarily in manual mode. I'm not into video (yet) so I can't speak to that aspect but the photography features that I've been exploring are first rate.

The camera body is great and there are plenty of reviews online for that. For this bundle, I will say that I was impressed with the bag included. It is just large enough to carry camera with my Sigma 18-50 F2 lens with space for spare batteries, zip pocket for my ND filter and microfiber cloth. Also has a space for a battery pack for my phone for traveling. Well designed so that the zip for the top pocket faces towards your body for security too. Other components of the bundle seem good as well but not as well used as the bag that was included.

In the past, I had the Sony Nex and the A6000. I decided to try the A6400 and I am very pleased with the camera. It's small and lightweight and I really love the eye tracking. I wish it had IBIS but the A6600 is way more than I wish to spend at this time. The 18-135 jack-of-all-trades lens is pretty good and I'm glad that it was part of the kit. Now, I am looking to add a few more lenses. If you are interested in this style of camera and are fine with APS-C then this camera may be a great choice for you.

Camera takes stunning, professional looking photos. Has been taking amazing shots of nebula and open clusters in our telescope (not long exposures). Captures color and light really accurately in manual mode. I never felt the urge to use a viewfinder with a digital camera but this one is actually extremely good. Its really everything I wanted in a camera.

This is the day after it arrived. My hands aren't as steady as they used to be so I am pleased with the quick autofocus. I have accessed the online help page and it is showing how to get around. In a month I will be able to writ a more meaningful review, but you know how one is nagged to immediately write something when you register your product.

This camera does so much more than my old Canon 7D ever could. More megapixels, no video recording limits, tilting screen, and super light weight. It's a No Brainer if you want a great camera with just enough bells & whistles to keep anyone happy!

just brought this camera home and I had had the sony a6000 previously for 4 years of tun times but it's malfunctioning and I'm headed on a trip of a lifetime so I upgraded to the a6400 but....none of my Play Memories apps will work, angle shift, time lapse, motion shot, picture in picture.....none of them:( There is also on one Auto and the a6000 had intelligent auto and superior auto. I don't know why Sony leaves things off of new models instead of adding to them.

"With this camera, Sony took everything that's great about the beloved a6300, and added some more to make it an excellent entry mirrorless camera, and also a top choice for pro video and vlogging. The a6400 has a compact body so it's very comfortable to carry around all day. Improved autofocus, a fully flip-up LCD screen, and a higher ISO range translate to a great choice for both photo and video in all light situations. "
Sony’s latest technological advancements are showcased in the new Sony Alpha a6400 Mirrorless Digital Camera. This lightweight camera is the midrange model Sony offers to both professionals and casual users who want to boost the quality of their work. The a6400 is a major improvement from its predecessor in terms of build quality, and boasts a 24.2MP APS-C sensor and a BIONZ X image processor, giving it an ISO range of 100 to 102,400 when capturing still images. It now comes with Sony’s fastest autofocus acquisition at 0.02 seconds and has 425 phase-detect AF points, allowing for better accuracy and more image area coverage. It also features "Real-time Eye AF" and "Real-time Tracking," which combines AI algorithms with autofocus techniques to yield better image and video quality. The a6400 can shoot bursts at 11fps while still having continuous autofocus. It can capture 4k footage at 30p and comes with a fully tiltable 180-degree LCD touchscreen. This degree of flexibility, along with its lightweight build, makes the a6400 attractive to on-the-go photographers, videographers, and vloggers alike. Available lenses include the E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens and the E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS lens.
Despite its compact size and light weight, the α6400 delivers speedy performance and a range of features you'd expect from a full-frame model. Whether you're taking still shots or movies, creative compositions or everyday selfie shots, you'll enjoy beautiful images that you'll want to share, on the go.
Fast and accurate autofocus lets you capture fleeting moments in stunning detail, thanks to a combination of innovative technologies. A total of 425 phase-detection AF points work in conjunction with contrast-detection AF to achieve a remarkable 0.02 sec* speed, while High-density AF Tracking Technology follows even erratically moving subjects.
*Based on Sony research, measured using CIPA-compliant guidelines, and internal measurement method with an E 18-135 mm F3.5-5.6 OSS lens mounted, Pre-AF off and viewfinder in use.
Highly accurate autofocus is now possible even in dark settings, thanks to advances in the AF algorithm. With this model, the lower limit on the AF detection brightness range has been reduced to EV-2* when in AF-S mode.
*At ISO 100 equivalent, F2.0 lens
Real-time Eye AF detects and autofocuses on the eyes of your subjects when you half-press the shutter. Either the left eye, the right eye, or auto can be specified, and when AF-C is set, it maintains a stable focus even when part of the face is hidden, the face is backlit or the subject is facing downwards.
The camera's peaking function color-highlights the most sharply focused section of the entire image area when you're using manual focus. Blue has now been added to the display's other peaking colors (red, yellow and white) to improve the visibility of the focus peak areas when you're doing the delicate focusing required for macro or portrait shooting.
For sporting events and other situations where your subjects are moving quickly, keeping them in constant focus can make all the difference between catching an important, dramatic moment or missing it.
*Will be activated when [Tracking] is set in the [Focus Area] menu.
A newly developed subject recognition algorithm processes spatial information based on color, subject distance (depth), pattern (brightness), and face and eye information at high speed in real time.
When shooting a distant person in motion, the tracking system captures the whole body, and the focus area will seamlessly change between the face and the eyes according to the condition of the subject.
Once Touch Tracking is set in the menu, select your subject simply by touching the monitor. For either stills or movies, the camera will begin to auto-track the subject.
Thanks to the large sensor and the latest image-processing engine, you can shoot whatever you encounter in your everyday life, with beautifully crisp and clear images and natural colors, even in low-light settings.
The APS-C sensor features copper wiring and enhanced circuit processing that aid in boosting light collection efficiency. In conjunction with the image processing engine, this helps achieve superior image resolution and more natural depiction of textures.
*Approx. effective.
Improved noise suppression has led to cleaner image quality, even in dark scenes where high-sensitivity shooting is required. The native ISO sensitivity has increased to a maximum ISO 32000 (with expanded ISO sensitivity at a maximum ISO 102400 for stills). Noise reduction is particularly effective in the frequently used medium-to-high sensitivity range.
Image-processing algorithms inherited from full-frame cameras have led the way to more lifelike color reproduction. Human skin tones look more natural, and reproduction of plant colors has also been improved.
From full-pixel readout without pixel binning enabling high-resolution 4K movie recording to HDR (HLG)* and S-Log/S-Gamut** options and Slow & Quick Motion recording***, the α6400 is loaded with advanced capabilities to support your movie-making creativity.
*Connect this product to an HDR (HLG) compatible Sony TV via a USB cable when displaying HDR (HLG) movies.
**S-Log2 and S-Log3 are premised on processing pictures.
***Sound recording is not possible. A Class 10 or above SDHC/SDXC card is required.
Slow motion (up to 5x) and quick motion (up to 60x) can be recorded in camera in high-quality Full HD, and no PC-based post-processing is required to view your slow-motion and quick-motion footage. Additionally, high bit-rate recordings of up to 100 Mbps in Full HD can be used to create high-image-quality slow-motion movies in post-production.
Fast Hybrid AF brings high speed, accuracy and tracking performance to meet the stringent autofocus demands of 4K movies. AF tracking sensitivity can be adjusted for either stable focus or responsive refocusing, depending on the nature of the scene, and Touch Tracking lets you initiate tracking of a moving subject simply by touching the LCD screen.
Newly introduced interval shooting, which is continuous shooting with a pause of 1-60 seconds between still shots, can be carried out within the camera. This can then be used to create time-lapse movies* on a PC using the Viewer app from the Imaging EdgeTM desktop applications.
External microphones can be attached via the microphone jack, and there is also an option for line input via XLR connectors using the camera's separately available XLR adaptor kit, which enables connection with various high-end microphones for professional-level audio.
S-Log shooting gives you flexibility to make more expressive movies by performing color grading in post-production. The S-Log3 and S-Log2 gamma curves feature a wide dynamic range (up to 1300%) that can help minimize blown highlights and blocked shadows. The S-Log3 gamma setting also provides an impressive 14-stop latitude.
*S-Log2 and S-Log3 are premised on processing pictures.
If you're shooting vlogs, the 180-degree tiltable LCD monitor is useful for framing your own shots. For sound recording, in addition to the external microphone jack there is also an optional XLR adapter (available separately) to facilitate the use of pro-level microphones to give you better audio quality.
The Touch Pad function allows you to smoothly move the current focus position while you're looking through the viewfinder. Simply slide your finger across the monitor until you find the desired point you want to focus on.
When you want to shift the focus, even to the periphery of the frame, Touch Focus does it with a simple touch to the monitor. With Touch Shutter, you can set the focus and trip the shutter with a single touch.
With the Touch Tracking function you can simply touch the monitor to activate Real-time Tracking for either stills or movies. The camera will instantly lock onto the target subject and keep it in constant focus.
An array of customization features, inherited from full-frame models, gives you greater flexibility and control over how your camera operates.
Each of the camera's eight keys and controls can be assigned to any of 89 functions and operations, with different operations depending on whether you're shooting still images or movies, or in replay mode.
On the custom settings screen, an illustration showing the camera's operable components shows you at a glance which button or switch you're assigning. When you're setting up the function menu, you can view the structure of the actual function screen.
My Dial lets you assign frequently used functions to the control dial and control wheel for faster access when you're shooting. My Menu allows registration of up to 30 different menu items for quick access to menu items you use often.
Elevate your photography with the Imaging Edge desktop applications. Use “Remote” to control and monitor shooting live on your PC screen; “Viewer” to quickly preview, rate, and select photos from large image libraries; and “Edit” to develop RAW data into high-quality photos for delivery. Get the best from Sony RAW files, and manage your productions more efficiently.**

When your shoot calls for absolute quiet, such as when you're photographing a live performance, silent shooting with no shutter noise allows shooting at up to 8fps with AF/AE tracking, even in AF-C mode, with Real-time Eye AF or with Real-time Tracking, expanding your range of shooting options.
Real-time Eye AF, Real-time Tracking
Smart subject-tracking
Newly adopted AI-based subject recognition technology processes a vast amount of data to detect and track even rapidly moving subjects.
Sophisticated eye recognition and tracking
Accurate eye recognition
Enhanced Real-time Eye AF reliably recognizes human faces and focuses precisely on a person's eyes. There's no need for special settings - just press the shutter button.
Persistent eye tracking
When AF-C is set, Real-time Eye AF maintains a stable focus on a moving subject even when part of the face is hidden, the face is backlit or the subject is facing downwards.
Choose your subject's left eye or right eye
Now you can choose Left Eye, Right Eye or Auto from the menu in advance, leaving you free to pay more attention to composition. These selections can be assigned to custom buttons, allowing you to quickly toggle between choices while mid-shoot.
Persistent tracking for subjects on the move
Real-time Tracking reliably maintains focus
For sporting events and other situations where your subjects are moving quickly, keeping them in constant focus can make all the difference between catching an important, dramatic moment or missing it.
A new subject-recognition algorithm holds onto moving subjects
A newly developed subject recognition algorithm processes spatial information based on color, subject distance (depth), pattern (brightness) and face and eye information at high speed in real time.
Seamless transitions from body to face and eye tracking
When shooting a distant person in motion, the tracking system captures the whole body and the focus area will seamlessly change between the face and the eyes according to the condition of the subject.
Simply touch and track
Once Touch Tracking is set in the menu, select your subject simply by touching the monitor. For either stills or movies, the camera will begin to auto-track the subject.
Incredible image quality
Enjoy beautiful, remarkably detailed images
Thanks to the large sensor and the latest image-processing engine, you can shoot whatever you encounter in your everyday life, with beautifully crisp and clear images and natural colors, even in low-light settings.
A 24.2 megapixel sensor plus enhanced image processing engine
The APS-C sensor features copper wiring and enhanced circuit processing that aid in boosting light collection efficiency. In conjunction with the image processing engine, this helps achieve superior image resolution and more natural depiction of textures.
Cleaner images even in dim light
Improved noise suppression has led to cleaner image quality, even in dark scenes where high-sensitivity shooting is required. The native ISO sensitivity has increased to a maximum ISO 32000 (with expanded ISO sensitivity at a maximum ISO 102400 for stills). Noise reduction is particularly effective in the frequently used medium-to-high sensitivity range.
Natural-looking images that match what you see
Image-processing algorithms inherited from full-frame cameras have led the way to more lifelike color reproduction. Human skin tones look more natural and reproduction of plant colors has also been improved.
4K movies and pro-level features
Creative movie production
From full-pixel readout without pixel binning enabling high-resolution 4K movie recording to HDR (HLG) and S-Log/S-Gamut options and Slow & Quick Motion recording, the a6400 is loaded with advanced capabilities to support your movie-making creativity.
High-resolution 4K recording
Super 35 mm format recording with 2.4x oversampling results in 4K movies (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) with extraordinary image quality.
Fast Hybrid AF for movies
Smooth, steady focus is in your control with high-performance AF tracking.
S-Log and HLG3
The camera provides a variety of options for picture profiles, including S-Log and HDR (HLG).
Create time-lapse movies
Newly introduced interval shooting, which is continuous shooting with a pause of 1-60 seconds between still shots, can be carried out within the camera. This can then be used to create time-lapse movies on a PC using the Viewer app from the Imaging Edge desktop applications.
Vlog with useful features
If you're shooting vlogs, the 180-degree tiltable LCD monitor is useful for framing your own shots. For sound recording, in addition to the external microphone jack there is also an optional XLR adapter (available separately) to facilitate the use of pro-level microphones to give you better audio quality.
Take advantage of various movie functions
Movies in slow motion (up to 5x) and quick motion (up to 60x) can be recorded in the camera, without post-processing on a PC. Alternatively, 120fps high-speed shooting of Full HD video can be used to create high-quality slow-motion footage in post-production. Proxy movie recording allows easier editing and previewing and Photo Capture lets you extract stills from recorded movies.
Smart operability
A high-resolution LCD monitor with handy touch-screen functions
The 3.0-type, 180-degree tiltable LCD screen does more than just display the scene in front of you - it gives you quick control over a number of the camera's functions, with a variety of intuitive touch operations.
Touch Pad provides smooth focus-area selection
The Touch Pad function allows you to smoothly move the current focus position while you're looking through the viewfinder. Simply slide your finger across the monitor until you find the desired point you want to focus on.
Touch Focus and Touch Shutter
When you want to shift the focus, even to the periphery of the frame, Touch Focus does it with a simple touch to the monitor. With Touch Shutter, you can set the focus and trip the shutter with a single touch.
Touch Tracking turns on Real-time Tracking at any time
With the Touch Tracking function you can simply touch the monitor to activate Real-time Tracking for either stills or movies. The camera will instantly lock onto the target subject and keep it in constant focus.
Set up your camera just the way you like
An array of customization features, inherited from full-frame models, gives you greater flexibility and control over how your camera operates.
Customized buttons put frequent operations at your fingertips
Each of the camera's eight keys and controls can be assigned to any of 89 functions and operations, with different operations depending on whether you're shooting still images or movies or in replay mode.
My Menu and My Dial features put you in control
My Dial lets you assign frequently used functions to the control dial and control wheel for faster access when you're shooting. My Menu allows registration of up to 30 different menu items for quick access to menu items you use often.
Visualized setup screen for customization
On the custom settings screen, an illustration showing the camera's operable components shows you at a glance which button or switch you're assigning. When you're setting up the function menu, you can view the structure of the actual function screen.
