Shopper : is it brand new ?GREGORY G : I purchased a Sony DPF-D1010 but returned it because of the 16:9 default display format . Most photos are in the traditional 4:3 display format, and that is what I prefer.
Having returned th Sony, I purchased a NIX 8" digital frame and like that better than the Sony.EDWARD X : Yes, it is brand new and it works wonderfully.Roman G : the one i bought was brand new.CYNTHIA B : Yes, the item is brand new, never used. It has a glossy screen that really shows off the pictures I chose to show. It is easy to change the pictures, too, because all you do is change the SD card or make changes to the existing one. It 'self corrects' to show landscape vs. portrait. I would recommend this frame because my parents have really enjoyed it. I would buy it again from Adorama, because they have really good service.
Connie Z : Is 2 mega pixels enough for a regular picture to be downloaded to be sharp? My husband wants to put his pictures of past construction jobs on something so that he can take to the customer's house to show them. Does it work on battery or has to be plugged in?GREGORY G : This Sony digital frame has the sam e 800 by 480 resolution as many other similar frames. At 10" there would not be much difference in the quality or resolution compared to many other frames of similar size.
Note that the Sony has a 16 : 10 aspect ratio similar to high definition TV, but most camers take photos using a 4 : 3 aspect ratio which I prefer. For landscape photos, the longer 16 : 10 aspect ratio may be better. However, I opted for a different frame and returned the Sony.
Greg GroveBRUCE B : I purchased one for my Mother in December, and then recently purchased a second one for my Mother-in-law since I was so happy with the picture quality and overall performance. It does not work on batteries and must be plugged in.Roman G : 2 megapixels is more than enough. But you might need to rotate the image, auto-rotation does not always work.
Has to be plugged in.
I'd take something like iPAD/tablet/Laptop to show pictures to customers, it's not intended/convenient for that purpose
