I've owned Klipsch speakers since 2002, and I'm beyond impressed with the Reference 5.1.4 Cinema System with Dolby Atmos! I bought the Pioneer VSX-LX305 9.2 channel receiver, and an extra Klipsch R-100SW to create a 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos System. All purchased from Adorama for only about $1,000.00!

i bought this speaker set in January of 2024 as a discontinued surround sound set up. i can unterstand why it was discontinued, wiring the system was a little touchy as the wiring wil only take 16GA or smaller. read the reviews and went to Monoprice 4 conductor 16ga CL-3 rated for in the wall install. this is connected to a Pioneer VDX-Lx305 Elite stereo. this set up was amazing. the sound reproduction soooo clear & powerful. shook the walls with movies, CD's, BT

A quality starter system. I will build on the system over time. Attached to a starter Denon amplifier. Sounds quite good. We will see over time.

Excellent for my size room and coupled with the Klipsch 5.1.2 surround is a perfect match. Great sound watching TV and movies. Love the Dolby sound tracks. I love Jazz music and it sounds incredible. Very happy I chose Klipsch and Pioneer Elite.

I moved into a smaller space and my 11 Infinity speakers just wouldn't fit. After looking at various soundbars and speaker combos I decided to try the Klipsch. I've always liked the sound and the price was unbeatable. They arrived on time (in a very heavy box) and were pretty easy to set up. The wire they sent were very small gauge and nowhere near long enough for the rears so I opted for regular 16 gauge all the way around. The connectors on the speakers are a bit wonky to use. I was continually having difficulty making a good connection. I eventually used 2mm connectors and problem solved. It's still pretty tight, so get the longest ones you can find . Now they click in and the connection is right. I hit the power switch and was pleasantly amazed. The highs were crisp not shrill, the dialogue crystal clear, and the subwoofer subtle and strong without being boomy. The Atmos certainly filled the room without having to crank the volume. I eventually added a second R-100SW subwoofer to balance out the room. At this price and the reliable Klipsch build I'm as satisfied as I can be. After having these for a few months now I love them even more.

Great surround sound! No complaints whatsoever with the quality. This is my first Klipsch experience and I will recommend this to my family and friends

I got this a little over a month ago. Didn't know what I was actually missing! I didn't realize and dig deep enough to understand the concept of "height" and know that it's 4 extra channels. It certainly brought out EVERY acoustic detail my 20 year old Kenwood receiver can put out, but now I realize that to properly use this, I need a 9.2 channel receiver. Thankfully I previously replaced my subwoofer to try out Klipsch, so I've got two subs, so now I just need the new receiver, which I'm favorite the "elite" Pioneer 505 I believe. The loud, crystal clear sounds match my 4k 75" TV now!!!

each speaker requires 2 hookups as the top & forward speaker are wired separately; that was interesting. Couldn't hardly hear the subwoofer (or for that matter get it to work with my denon AVR-S760H) was underwhelmed with the set but did get a good price on sale

As a long-time fan of Klipsch speakers and their excellent customer service, I purchased the Klipsch Reference Cinema System 5.1.4 because my TV speakers failed to deliver good sound. The combination of Klipsch speakers and a Denon receiver elevated my home theater experience to the next level. The system provides excellent sound quality, impressive bass, and Dolby Atmos surround sound. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

These speakers are marvelous. From the packaging to the quality of finish all first rate. Wire was included and was not low budget either. They sound great. Looks awesome ??. Sub woofer is awesome. Perfect size for my room. They arrived in record time also. Would definitely buy Klipsch again!!! Thank you all so much.

Amazing bang for the buck, full Atmos aray for not a lot of money, bass that will shake your walls, crystal clear highs and midrange i have nothing negative to say about these. They do require an amplifier preferably 5.2.4 or 7.1 with "height" output

I have been monitoring Klipsch speakers and systems for years, but don't currently have a dedicated home theater space to invest in on of the higher-end systems. I bought the 5.1.4 Reference Series as a replacement for an old but solid Cambridge 8.1 system, mainly because my Onkyo receiver supports Dolby Atmos. The quality of the builds is very good and as someone who has experience designing high-end theaters, this set-up is a noticeable sound quality upgrade over anything else on the market for the size/specs. I've only ever had down-firing subwoofers, in the past and typically set them at a level 6-7. With the Klipsch sub, I am running it at 3 (out of 11). start sound level at the receiver with all other previous speakers was 60 and is louder, with greater clarity at 50. You simply won't find a better speaker set for the price out there if you have a good supporting receiver. For entry-level/family room or smaller (flex-type) spaces, it's a no-brainer.

Purchased this system a few weeks ago, and I'm still in awe, crisp, clear sound coming from these speakers. Sounded so awesome, I purchased another of this exact one, for the basement. Been a Klipsch fan for years, ever since I tried their R20B soundbar. Highly recommend. Don't be fooled by other brand speakers, these does not disappoint.

There is a substantial amount of discourse amongst audiophiles online concerning the performance and value of Klipsch lower end products found in places like Costco and Best Buy as well as their mid-tier products. It seems they don't care for how popular they are, their audio performance and everything is always on sale marketing ploys. I waded through all of that noise, researched my options and strongly considered piecing together a home theater system from select used products from Polk, SVS and others. I kept coming back to this all in one set up though. When I found an open box set on eBay for $300 shipped I decided it was simply too good of a deal to pass by...and I am glad I didn't. The set arrived in a BIG BOX and was very well packaged with cloth like protective covers over each speaker and styrofoam in place to keep them secure and provide protection during shipment. As I removed and unwrapped each speaker I was really impressed with the quality. The grills are magnetically mounted and the speakers look great with or without them. The left and right front as well as the rear speakers are the same and about the size of a big roll of paper towels. They have one threaded mount on the back and can be mounted on speaker stands. However with a single mounting point the speaker can rotate on the stand; to rectify this I used a short self tapping to make another mounting point. The housings are plastic and do not feel cheap or flimsy. The center channel is substantial and I believe about five inches tall sitting in front of my TV; that could be a problem if it blocks your remote control signal from being received by the TV. After I got it all set up I began to hook everything up to my receiver. I purchased a Marantz 9.2 channel receiver with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth so I could have a 5.1.4 setup, eventually 5.2.4. Once everything was dialed in with the receivers's settings I tested out a number of films, intros, particular scenes. I also watched a few movies, television shows and listened to music. Critics of Klipsch don't care for the crossover frequency in this set of the treble forward sound of their speakers. I am 57 years old now; I have been to a lot of concerts, grew up on a diet of heavy metal and optimism from the 80's before Kurt Cobain and his sad power destroyed the musical universe. Music has been a huge part of my life, as has film. I have a collection of over 3,500 films. I enjoy my music loud and my movies in a darkened room with quality immersive audio. I am thoroughly pleased with this speaker system; it is a rock solid value at $500 or less. It used to sell for $800 and even then it would still be a decent value in comparison to sound bar packages and other HTIB offerings. The speakers aren't overly obtrusive so your wife won't have too hard of a time with them in the house and you can get a nice amount of bass out of the sub. The speakers have excellent clarity and when coupled with a good receiver the whole system balances out quite nicely. One of the reasons I purchased this set was for Dolby Atmos. Although up firing speakers are not as effective as ceiling mounted speakers, you don't have to get the okay from the wife and you don't have to risk improper placement or falling through the ceiling. Personally the audio immersion that I achieved with my $750 system ($300 Klipsch speakers and a mint used Marantz SR6011 9.2 channel receiver) is money well spent.

I bought this about a year ago from Costco. For the price (I paid more at Costco) you get incredible Dolby Atmos sound. the only downside is that 9.2 channel (5.1.4) receivers are much more expensive than the 7.2 (5.1.2) channel receivers. I am sure someone with really good ears can tell that these aren't the multi thousand-dollar speakers, but I can't tell, and I am really pleased.

These speakers are game changing. We should have gotten these years ago. The setup was a little confusing (we only needed to hook up one set of wires to the surround sound) but when we started playing for the first time we decided to play a new movie with the whole sound design thing. It was amazing. We went from having too loud music and too soft voice audio or vice versa to being everywhere and clear. We then played our favorite music and were engulfed in the sound. Highly recommend.

Good sound and looks great. But having spent $500 for them only to find them for $350 is very disappointing. How can resellers beat the manufacturers price. Feeling very ripped off.

Love the sound!!! I added two rear speakers to my 7.1 receiver and it sounds amazing! The only small thing I don't like is the subwoofer makes a loud noise when it is set to Auto. This happens when it turns on/off. Besides that I am extremely please and would for sure recommend Klipsch to anyone!

I have had them about a week now, I am extremely impressed by the unmistakable Klipsch sound quality that these speakers deliver for such a low price. They would have been a bargain at twice the price I paid. I just wish I had known I was going to need a 9-channel receiver to fully take advantage of the Dolby Atmos.

Perfect addition to my Vandersteen 3A's. Because of my ceiling configuration the upfire speakers are not as effective. Sound quality is fantastic, as well as the sound broadband notes are crystal clear

Even more pleased than expected. This system fills my 17X19x12 room with superb home theater sound. The artmos technology wraps us in the soundtrack and it feels like we are actually in the film. The speakers have signature Klipsch clarity and the bass is truly room shaking. Loving it. Thanks

Much improved over my previous internal speakers and then a Soundbar. I expected to get more ceiling 'bounce' from the Atmos part of the Klipsch speakers, but overall an enjoyable experience. Because of my room configuration, I did need to purchase longer wires for the rear speakers, and will probably replace the front wiring as well with 16g.

I'm not an audiophile but I want good sound. Despite the plastic shell the speakers are heavy as if they had used wood\MDF. Most importantly the sound is excellent, the height speakers are well executed. These are joined to an Onkyo TX-RZ50. I appreciate good music and have a Technics SL1500. My jazz and blues vinyl sound amazing full of warmth and detail. A purchase worth the price I paid (they were on sale).

Just one word - Amazing

I purchased the Klipsch Reference Atoms speakers from Costco, and really wrestled over this vs the Home Theater Reference package, which was $300 less. Even though there are tons of positive reviews for the other package, I decided to take the risk and get the higher end speakers. I am not disappointed with my decision. Upon setting up the system, I did find that one of the wires included were damaged, as they were not connecting properly. But, because there were other wires/cables included I...

Awesome surround system
By Stewart
I got these with a set of the R-41 bookshelf speakers to make a 7.1.4 system. The sound is as good as a theater's system. Now I need a larger television to complete the theater feeling. My only regret is that I didn't upgrade to these sooner. The sound is so clear and crisp. I have to keep turning it down when the kids decide to use the system for their music and blasting us out.
