The ATEM Microphone Converter is a durable and high-quality device designed to enhance your audio recording experience. This innovative product, manufactured by the reputable Blackmagic Design, allows you to add extra microphones to your ATEM switcher, expanding the MADI input for multiple microphones or external audio mixers. Compact and user-friendly, the ATEM Microphone Converter seamlessly plugs into the ATEM Television Studio MADI port. It requires no complex setup and can be daisy-chained with additional units for more sources. Each converter boasts four analog inputs that are mic/line selectable and equipped with 48V phantom power. The design of this converter ensures superior audio quality with an extremely low noise floor, a wide dynamic range, and minimal distortion. It employs eight separate ADCs on each input, working in unison to extend the dynamic range. An HDMI monitoring output with scrolling audio waveforms is also included for your convenience.The ATEM Microphone Converter features a converter-style design that accommodates the analog electronics necessary for high-quality analog to digital audio conversion (ADC). It includes combined XLR/TRS input sockets for both XLR or jack cables. A MADI output with the converted audio and a MADI input for daisy-chaining multiple ATEM Microphone Converters are also part of the design. This product also includes a 12V DC power connection plus USB and Ethernet for remote admin and software updates. Switches allow control of mic/line audio input levels and the activation of phantom power. The ATEM Microphone Converter uses MADI, or Multichannel Audio Digital Interface, a multi-channel audio link standardized as AES10 by the Audio Engineering Society (AES). This interface defines the data format for multiple channels of digital audio. The converter's MADI output embeds the four analog inputs as MADI channels 1, 2, 3, and 4. Each analog input channel features an ultra-low noise, fixed gain preamplifier scaled to drive a high dynamic range audio ADC. This innovative design eliminates the need for an analog microphone preamplifier, preventing preamp gain step clicks or "zipper noise". The ATEM Microphone Converter also includes an HDMI video monitoring output for a full status display. This feature includes four scrolling waveforms over the last 60 seconds of time, audio meters to show the level at the input connector, and custom labels set via the software utility.
