Sony PWS-100MG1 Media Gateway Workstation

Take control of your 4K and HD file transfers with the PWS-100MG1 Media Gateway Workstation, a compact 1RU unit designed to streamline the transfer process between the PWS-4400 4K/HD multi-port AV storage unit and various external media. This comprehensive package includes the workstation, media application software, and a content viewer application, offering a complete solution for browsing, archiving, and retrieving files from external media.

The PWS-100MG1 is compatible with a wide range of external media, including Sony Optical Disk (ODS-D77U and ODS-D55U), external USB HDDs, SXS memory media, and Professional Disc. With the included software, you can effortlessly manage content from your PWS-4400 server, archive clips as needed, and even ISO record your incoming material in real time to an externally connected memory device.

This Media Gateway Workstation also supports 4K and HD XAVC and DNxHD (optional), making it a versatile tool for transferring files to third-party devices and Non-Linear Editing (NLE) systems on network-attached storage (NAS). If you have the DNxHD codec recording option installed in your PWS-4400, you can also transfer files to Avid Media Composer systems.

The PWS-100MG1 is equipped with six USB 3.0 ports for connecting USB HDDs, along with three RJ-45 ports for 10GbE and two 1GbE connections (10GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T,100BASE-TX, 100BASE). It also features one HDMI port and one DisplayPort connector V1.1a for display support.

Experience real-time 4K video material transfers with the included 10G interface card, designed to facilitate rapid transfer between the PWS-4400 and external backup devices. The exact system speed will depend on the performance of the connected device.

Finally, the PWS-100MG1 includes a 'Watched Folder' feature, which automatically retrieves media to the PWS-4400 when clips are added to a watched folder on an NLE material server. This feature ensures seamless, uninterrupted workflow and enhances productivity.
