I saw the expodisc last year and thought it would be neat, but did not purchase it. I just bought it and love it. I should had gotten it sooner. It fits in your pocket, take it out, hold it over the lens and set your custom white balance. It is that fast. I use it for indoors at church and for weddings. I don't think it is needed for outdoors.

Great for white balance in the field. Replacement for a white balance card that's awkward to carry. Also great when you don't want to ask the subject to hold a card. For studio work, I use a Porta Brace White Balance Card. The ExpoDisc easily clips into the lens that I use most of the time. Slight disadvantage: it neasures incident not reflected light. The camera has to be pointed at the light source. I'll do some testing to see if there's a big difference between incident and reflected. Good gadget to have in the pack I hike with.

WB doesn't get easier than this. Always right and no big targets to cart around.

Indoors with natural light, I think it really works great! I'm still getting the hang of it outside in natural light conditions. Even though it's the neutral one, my results still seem really warm when used outside. I will there was a neck strap on the disc itself instead of on the case.

After reading much about the ExpoDisc, I knew had to bite the bullet and give it a try. I am so glad I did!! I cannot emphasize the difference this tool has made in my final product. It is so easy to use and saves me so much time in post processing. The exposure and colors are spot on!!! I regret not purchasing this MUCH sooner. It has changed my photography forever!!!

This is a good substitute for a grey card and a white balance card. It works as advertised and takes up minimal space in my bag. When used as directed, it is very accurate and is also a suitable replacement for most incident light meters. Recommended.

I received this complimentary with my Nikkor f/2.8 70-200mm lens and so i assumed it would be junk. It is actually really helpful for white balancing. I've always just used a white balance card but this is much better and easier to use.

I am taking a photography class and, until now, I had no idea how to obtain a white balance value. I have gray cards, but the ExpoDisc is much easier to use and I feel that I get accurate color. I purchased a 77 mm because it is large enough to hold over the end of all my lenses. I gave it 4 stars because of the high price.

Unbelievable how well this product works. VERY fast and immediate color correction. My daughter plays high school basketball and EVERY gym has a different lighting scheme. Before, I had to rely on the auto-white balance in the camera (universally poor) or a gray card. With the Expodisc this is a 60 second process and the color is perfect. You will not believe the results if you are not already color correcting. The only problem is the price. $100. Are you kidding me?

So very easy to use with a lot of "how to use" videos on YouTube. So simple and easier to use than a gray card.

I shoot a ton of sporting events, including amateur Hockey. Anyone that has ever tried to meter a WB in an amateur rink knows how difficult it can be! Different lighting types and mixed lighting create a WB nightmare. After purchasing the ExpoDisc, WB is now a breeze!

I never used a product like this before, and probably would not have purchased if it didn't come with a new Nikon lens. It turns out I am glad it was included with the lens. Surprisingly easy to use, and really works. I shoot RAW all the time so I never worry about setting white balance in camera. This filter does definitely improve my results.

Works amazing. Why I wated this long to grab this is beyond me. Con is it can fall off the lens...but once you know that you just hold it on, no biggie Make sure you buy the biggest size then you can just hold it in front of your smaller lens'

I just used it on my Nikon d700 for indoor dance/cheer leading competition. Easy to use and color was great.

Great product, but it would be nice if it could be held in place while taking test shots. There is no threading, it just sits over the lens.

This is the best exposure and color correction portable device that you can put in your camera bag! With natural light photography, you can get accurate exposure and color in literally a few seconds. Yes, it's more money than a gray card, but a heck of a lot less than a light meter (and yes light meters are still being used in digital photography). Because let's face it, in-camera meters are good in some situations, but it can get confused in tricky situations. Don't you want to be correct in ALL situations?

Time-lapse photography is great bridge between still photography and videography. Both disciplines co-mingle in this easy-to-learn, yet endlessly challenging, creative technique.

Get accurate color in difficult lighting with the patented ExpoDisc, the fast and easy digital white balance filter. Simply read and set white balance with the ExpoDisc in place before shooting and you'll reduce or eliminate the need for post-capture color adjustments.
Get the white balance solution that is quickly becoming the preferred method of achieving accurate color balance for professional photographers today.
Here is how it works:
Varying levels of colorcast typically occur in digital photography and require compensation as part of the process to create a photograph with good color fidelity.
Until now, photographers have had to rely on gray/white cards to solve this problem. The ExpoDisc is an easy to use custom white balance solution that eliminates the inconvenience and inconsistencies of other methods.
It is a neutral diffusion filter that gathers ambient light and passively transmits 18% of it through to your camera's light meter, effectively producing a "gray frame".
You then set a custom white balance using the "gray frame" that results in accurate color in most lighting conditions. Your camera essentially compensates for and neutralizes the colorcast it sees through the ExpoDisc.
