The SC 29 works just as it is advertised to do. It is very reliable and easy to store for travel. Another negative is the strength of the coiled cord. The working distance away from the camera is much less than one would think given the advertised length of the cord. It will not stretch out very easily. Otherwise, it is a great piece of equipment.
The SC-29 Off Camera AF TTL Cord, which mounts to the camera's hot shoe, enables an attached SB-600, SB-800 & S9-800 flash to accurately autofocus in low light when placed on a flash bracket, for beautiful shadowless lighting.
The cord in corporates a new AF Illuminator at the mounting point that overrides the Speedlite's AF Illuminator, completely eliminating any possibility of autofocus discrepancies when using the SB-800 & SB-900 off camera.
