Review Summary

I have bought 2 of this monitors. No any issues with Adorama, love the guys, honestly. However i have many questions to BENQ. One of monitors started to have stronger and stronger light bleeds at the corners of the monitor. Also heavy ghosting. Both problems happened gradually, over time, in approx. 6 month. Currently one of monitors can not be used for the purpose of photography (color grading) due to insane light bleeds and ghosting. Second monitor works like charm, both standing close to each-other, so easily to compare. Additional issue, USB hub on one of monitors burned down (USB3 HUB) So i do not suggest anyone to use the build-in USB3 hub. By now both monitors warranty is already expired and sadly true review could be only written once our studio used those monitors for a while (since 2019 or so). Conclusion in general: If stability of production would be guaranteed, all monitors had same quality as the one we have working here normally, then i would recommend this product.

I?ve used a calibrated NEC PA 301W for years as my main photoshop monitor. Bought the BenQ to view images while tethered in the studio. Very impressed with the overall build quality and image quality of this monitor.

Excellent Adobe RGB monitor at a reasonable price.

This is the second one I?ve bought, one for my studio and one for home. Works beautifully, I trust it. Too bad this model discontinued - the nearest comparable is almost twice the price.

Love it! It's great for my photo editing and also compatible with my work computer, unlike my prior Mac monitor.

Outstanding monitor for photo editing without breaking the bank. I now have two of these side by side.

The most important thing to consider is the fact that you can honestly get a bad copy of this monitor and it is a crap shoot. The first one I bought had problems with the blacks in sRGB and Adobe RGB presenting a flat muddy look in pitch black areas of photos instead of true black. To be honest true black is questionable on the monitor (even with my new copy) but this was too bad to ignore. I also had issues with black when streaming films which, by itself, is something I can live with. What pushed me to return it was the light leakage on the top left of the monitor. It was terrible and you can’t unsee it which make sense using the monitor a bad experience. Overall I am happy with it happy my replacement copy 13 days in. I returned the first to the store and bought another. I would say great quality monitor but quality control seems to be a problem and it took a lot of communication to eventually decide on a solution.

Really an excellent monitor, for photo and video editing. The monitor does not have built in speakers. It does have audio jack.

Amazing color reproduction. The hockey puck wired control is great to check different modes. Would have been perfect if it had freesync or Gsync support since I’m doing game dev. Had to buy a lesser gaming monitor to check outputs.

I was very disappointed in the quality of the actual panel and the quality control for this monitor. There were three issues with my copy of this monitor. The first, and most serious, issue is light leakage in the corners. It is bad, and I mean VERY bad. Particularly in the upper left hand corner. When viewing dark images the leakage produces and greenish grey tint that projected out about 2" from the corner. The other 3 corners also suffered from light leakage but not nearly as pronounced as the one in the upper left hand corner. All four were bad but there is no way the one in the upper left hand corner should have made it past QC. The next issue that I has with my copy was color shift when viewing at angles. For an IPS display the color shift is bad. Whites become noticeably grey when viewing the display at SLIGHT angles. It is MUCH worse than on the $450 IPS display that this was to replace. I don't think this is a defect but simply a result of the quality of the panel used for the display. The last issue is minor but the base of my stand had a very small chip on it and metal was showing through the anodization. I don't know if this was a defect in the anodization process or an actual chip but it was minor and I would have overlooked it. As for the good, the colors coming out of the monitor were excellent. The contrast between the light and dark colors were amazing and produced rich saturated colors. The physical build quality is good and calibration is easy. It is a solidly built product. In conclusion, I just don't think the quality of the panel nor the quality control meets the level that one would expect from a monitor in this price range. Unfortunately, its the cheapest wide gamut monitor in my price range thus back to sRGB for me.

The monitor itself is nice. It has great color, profiles well with other software (see below); the Deta E is amazing on my sample. The puck is very handy, more so than I would have thought. However, DO NOT assume their Palette Master software works, at least with a Colormunki Photo, as they advertise. It will not see the colorimeter. I went round and round on how many stars. It really bothers me a company doesn't test their products fully.
